  • To make provision for the super-aged society, the senior welfare facility which is a kind of typical physical environment of the nursing service would be expected to perform a very important role in local community. This study was conducted to identify the constructs of the servicescapes of senior welfare facility and to draw analysis indicators of it. For this, we performed literature review based on domestic & foreign government guide, service marketing theory and interior architectural results concerning the physical environment of the senior welfare facility. The result of this study showed as follows: servicescapes of the senior welfare facility could be explained as "a whole set of physical environment to support a variety of services provided by the senior welfare facility for the elderly or services of the kind of tangible clues". Analysis indicators of the senior welfare facility's servicescape could be explained as five factors: safety factor, functional factor, aesthetic factor, ambient factor and social factor. In addition we developed 37 pieces of detailed factors referred to five factors. The evaluation and verification of analysis indicators was carried out through 8 experts in-depth interviews. We inspected importance factor using a 5-point Likert scale, therefore safety factor was 4.41, functional factor was 4.27, aesthetic factor was 3.66, ambient factor was 4.20 and social factor was 4.25. More than anything else, in this study, there is a sense that it has established the concept of servicescape adapted to the senior welfare facility and contained a social element between the employees and the physical environment. Theoretical and practical implications of findings are discussed, and future research directions are proposed. we expect to be a little or benefits to the senior welfare facility corresponding to the future of the super-aged society.

  • This study aims to analyze the factors that affect quality of life and sensory processing abilities in older adults. Participants were 121 older adults aged over 65. Quality of life was evaluated with Life satisfaction Index for the Elderly and sensory processing abilities were measured with Korean-AASP. Korean Activiy Card Sort was utilized to assess their activity level. Low positive correlations were found between quality of life and activity level in total score(p<.01), IADL(p<.05), leisure(p<.01), and social participation(p<.01). Correlation coefficients between quality of life and sensory processing abilities showed low negative correlations in low registration(p<.01), sensory sensitivity(p<.01), and sensation avoiding(p<.01), however, there were low positive correlations in sensation seeking(p<.05). The importance of sensory processing was highlighted from the findings of statistically significant correlations between quality of life and sensory processing abilities. This indicates that improvement of sensory processing abilities is critical in occupational therapy service for older adults. Furthermore, the findings of close relationship between activity levels and sensory processing abilities need to be reflected in senior welfare policy.

  • This study attempts to deduce the necessity and validity of complexation, and suggests complexation through complexation suitability evaluations as follows. First, the concept and current state of leisure facilities for the elderly and elementary facilities and architectural complexation were investigated through theoretical considerations. Second, the target schools for complexation of 'elementary school-leisure facility for the elderly' were selected. The aspects of facility introduction of an elementary school, teacher support facility, convenience facility for the disabled, safety and security facilities as well as school facility accessibility were investigated on the basis of the data attained from theoretical considerations. Third, the feasibility of complexation of leisure facilities for the elderly was reviewed, based on the investigated data on complexation-targeted elementary school. Regarding school building and support facilities, with a focus on leisure programs for the elderly, the availability and number of rooms, extra numbers of regular classrooms and the room condition were assessed on the basis of the analysis of operational perspective of each facility. The convenience facilities for the disabled were examined by classifying them into interventional facility in consideration of facilities for the elderly, pursuant to the provisions in the convenience promotion assurance act for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Safety and security facilities were evaluated in an effort to assess the safety issue of the elderly and children. The result of the evaluation of the 6 elementary schools in Seong-buk county based on the above-mentioned four measurement standards shows that they scored 107~124 points out of the total 155 points, with the average of 118.5 points. This is more than the medium score and shows the possible complexation of the elementary school facilities as the leisure facilities for the elderly, and at the same time it may lead each school to find out the elements conducive to enhancing the complexation as a result of the evaluation. Through the evaluation data, I expect that we contribute to promoting the process of the evaluation of the appropriateness of complexation and the efficient complexation.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors on the quality of life of elders. Methods: Data were collected from August 25, September 1, 2014, and participants were 300 elders who were using senior welfare centers. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis. Results: Elders who were more painful, highly perceived health status, self-esteem and social support, and lower depression showed relatively higher quality of life. Also, there were strong correlations between quality of life and depression (r=-.737) /perceived health status (r=.709). Factors predicted quality of life of elders were perceived health status (${\beta}=.349$), depression (${\beta}=-.267$), social support (${\beta}=.172$), self-esteem (${\beta}=.170$), pain (${\beta}=-.130$), income (${\beta}=.113$), and level of education (${\beta}=.064$). These 7 factors explained 78.2% of the variance in quality of life of elders (F=154.49, p<.001). Conclusion: Therefore, in order to improve the quality of life of elders, a systematic approach is necessary through multilateral cooperation among comprehensive sectors.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the trajectories of multi-dimensional poverty in the process of transitioning from middle age to old age, and to identify the factors that influence them. Using the Korea Welfare Panel Data(2006 ~ 2018), we examined the trajectory of changes in multi-dimensional poverty for 13 years by prospective elderly and middle aged group aged 55 or older in 2006 through the potential growth model. Multidimensional poverty is divided into seven dimensions in four areas: economy (income, employment), environment (residential), health, social culture (leisure, family relations, and social relations). The results showed that the level of multi-dimensional poverty decreased with time, and the overall poverty level was higher than that of the pre-old and the average. As a result of analyzing the condition model with the independent variable, the variables affecting poverty change were found in the order of spouse free and educational level for the elderly and gender and education level for the elderly. In other words, multi-dimensional poverty is gradually improving, but the rate of change and the variables that affect each age group are different.

As a result of this study, first, it suggests that the method of overcoming economic exclusion and improving human satisfaction requires a high interest in women in the subject, and the elderly, low-educated, It was found that it is urgent to overcome the economic exclusion of the low-income class. Second, as a result of examining the effect of social network on human relationship satisfaction, it was found that the more women, the higher the age, the more shopping, and the smoother communication with children, the higher the human relationship satisfaction. Third, as a result of examining the effect of economic exclusion on human relationship satisfaction, it was found that the more leisure activities visited relatives and relatives, and the more paid facilities used social networks, the lower the relationship satisfaction. Therefore, it can be seen that improvement measures for leisure activities and social networks are required. Fourth, as a result of examining the mediating effect of the social network, the social exclusion in the causal relationship in which the independent variable economic exclusion affects the dependent variable, human relationship satisfaction, The relational network was found to have a complete mediating effect.
