Computer-Assisted Map Analysis for Planning Forest Road Network (컴퓨터 지도분석(地圖分析)을 이용(利用)한 임도계획(林道計劃))

  • Route projection of forest road involves several constraints ranging from construction cost to environmental impacts. This study is designed to assess the capability of computer-assisted map analysis techniques for deriving several alternatives of forest road planning. Three cartographic models are presented to address the limit of slope, soil erosion, and aesthetic value in designing forest roads over a relatively small size of mountainous forest. Primary spatial analysis techniques used are distance measurements and connectivity analysis. The fundamental approach used was to generate a set of friction maps in which each friction map represents a combined restriction for a forest road projection. Products of the spatial analysis are compared by both qualitative and quantitative methods. The results demonstrate that computer-assisted map analysis has a potential to solve rather complex problems of forest road planning by providing several alternatives effectively.

  • Through rail transit has many merits as a safe, environmental harmonic and scheduled transit, there are many problems to construct railroads because of the public resentment. However, there is no reasonable way to settle the conflict properly and it causes enormous social and economic losses. This paper suggests a methodology to evaluate public complaint using the AHP technique, which is generally used as the methodology to evaluate public complaint using the AHP technique, which is generally used as the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). However, the result from the AHP has some defects to control conflicts because the interests related to railroad projects are so complex that it is hard to make people persuaded easily. Therefore, this paper suggests 'the improvement ranking method', 'the sensitive analysis', and 'the assessment of independence relationship' which can aid the basic AHP to be robust. And the AHP. modified by fuzzy method, is also suggested to apply this methodology to example rail paths in Korea.

  • Road construction has been worked on by focusing on cost effectiveness such as the reduction of construction costs without understanding the natural environment and ecosystems. In addition, since ecosystems have been destroyed and the habitats of animals and plants have been isolated, wild animals have sought other habitats or have moved into isolated habitats. Thus, issues such as roadkills or the extermination of species are increasingly occurring. Based on this background, the development and application of a general assessment method need to be researched in order to verify whether or not spaces or habitats where animals can be inhabited and their species can be maintained exist. The purpose of this study is to develop an ecosystem map where a conservation value evaluation method considering the functions of an ecosystem where animals live as well as the naturalness of ecosystems is used and can be made into a drawing. The items applied to evaluate the habitat conservation values were naturalness, rarity, and functionality, and sub-items for evaluation were created. GIS as well as the evaluation items were used to create a digital map about the level of importance based on the evaluation criteria. The created digital map showed that it was not limited to the adjustment or distribution of the fauna and flora but was applicable for a general ecosystem evaluation method for the conservation of habitats. It is expected that the isolation of habitats would be able to be minimized if the digital map is used for road construction projects. The digital map is deemed to be able to be used for the construction of environmentally friendly roads, which will minimize the destruction of ecosystems and the isolation of habitats for creatures.

  • 최근 고해상도 위성영상정보의 민간 사용이 활발해지면서 기존에 널리 알려진 위성영상정보 응용분야 뿐만 아니라 새로운 응용 분야에 대한 적용 가능성이 국제적으로 여러 가지 방향으로 모색되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 추세를 반영하여 교통 또는 도시교통 환경분야에서의 위성영상정보의 활용 가능성 및 기존 방법론과의 연계를 분석하고, 시험적으로 프로토타입 프로그램을 소개하고자 한다. 일반적으로 교통문제에서의 접근성 분석은 일종의 중력모델로 설명이 가능하며, 교통계획 수립시에 대안 도로 계획선정이나 대중교통 노선결정시에 많이 이용되고 있다. 접근성 분석에 대한 개념은 비교적 간단하여, 교통분석대상구역의 임의 지역에서 유인 요인과 거리를 변수로 하여 적용 목적에 부합되는 대상 지점까지의 정량적 지수정보를 얻도록 하여 몇 가지 결과로부터 출발지점에서 목적지점 또는 대상 지점까지의 손익비용산출에 대한 정보를 얻는 방식이다. 최근에 GIS를 통하여 구축된 교통 데이터베이스정보와 공간분석 기법을 통하여 수행하는 경우가 많으나 현재까지 위성영상정보가 이용된 경우는 거의 보고된 바가 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정사위성 실제 교통시설물이나 교통 대상 객체의 육안 식별이 가능한 고 해상도 위성영상정보는 이러한 출발지-목적지 선정에 적용될 수 있다는 점에 착안하여 기존에 교통분야에서 개발된 몇 가지의 교통 접근성 산출 알고리듬에 위성영상정보가 연계되어 적용될 수 있는 가능성을 검토하였다.

  • This paper propose an efficient algorithm for selecting electric bus charging facility location. In nature, the optimal charging facility location problem is similar to Set Covering Problem. Set Covering Problem is the problem of covering all the rows of an $m{\times}n$ matrix of ones and zeros by a subset of columns with a minimal cost. It has many practical applications of modeling of real world problems. The Set Covering Problem has been proven to be NP-Complete. In order to overcome the computational complexity involved in seeking optimal solutions, this paper present an enhanced greedy algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm. In this paper, we apply the developed algorithm to Seoul's public bus system.

Priority Decision Making for Planning A Long-term Sustainable High-speed Rail Network using Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (지속가능한 고속철도망 계획을 위한 투자우선순위 선정에 관한 연구 : 다원-속성 효용이론을 이용하여)

  • With the growing international consensus regarding sustainable development of transportation, the plan of transportation infrastructure needs to meet various requirements toward enhancing environmental conditions. Accordingly, the upcoming long-term plan of high-speed rail network has to be reflecting the sustainability of transportation systems. In this paper, we demonstrate an application of methodologies based on multi-attribute utility theory for determining priorities of sustainable high-speed rail investment. The proposed methodologies identify indicators for sustainable transportation systems such as economic, environmental, and social ones and then, evaluate priority for planning a long-term sustainable high-speed rail network by comparing the relative importance among indicators. This will help transportation agencies to prioritize high-speed rail investment toward sustainable transportation systems.

  • This study has been carried out to lay out a scheme to increase the recreational functions of the forests through improvement of trail environment. To achieve the objective, environmental characteristics of the trails, actual condition of the users, and status of the park management were investigated in the suburb parks of Tokyo, Japan in 1996. As the results, the managing agency of investigated parks has been set itself to activate the use rather than environment conservation and improvement of recreational environment in forests. However, for taking into account the behavior and the purpose of visits in forest, the enhancement of scenic quality and amenity in the parks is a pressing need in recreational conditions. Therefore, to increase the recreational functions in forests, selection of courses and keeping of natural trails in good condition, control of users to ensure amenity, introduction of planting methods to enhance scenic quality and educational effects, and management to efficient conservation of nature ecosystem are required.

Applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process to Select the Optimal Route for Hazardous Material Transport (AHP 기법을 활용한 위험물 수송의 최적경로산정)

  • Growth of oil and chemical industries has been remarkable during recent years. Hazardous materials (Hazmat) make frequent use in the wide range of industries. It increases the frequency of Hazmat transport and it leads to increase the number of accidents. Optimal Hazmat routes can reduce damage. Thus, the objective of this study is to minimize the areas impacted by Hazmat accidents by adopting experts' opinion in planning the route. We calculated weights using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and deduced the best route by applying this weights. Results showed that in the case of shortest route versus weighted route, the percentage of population damage has been decreased by 33.4% in the comparison between shortest route and optimally weighted route. And the percentage of environmental damage also has been decreased by 21.8%. Social damage has been decreased by 1521.7%. In the case of none weighted route versus weighted route, the percentage of population damage has been decreased by 2.6% when we adopted weighted route. Consequently, the recommended route with weighted risk assessment avoids densely populated area comparing with none weighted route. Further research needs to be carried out in order to figure out the specific cost-effectiveness analysis applying the equal cost unit for each factor.

  • Since the 1st of July, 2004, the public transport system of the Seoul metropolitan area has been rearranged. In the new system, bus lines are divided into 4 classes-wide area, arterial road, branch, and rotation lines with renewed fare system based on the total distance travelled. Since central control center known as the Bus Management System (BMS) integrates the entire system operation. it now becomes feasible to collect travel information and provide it to the users scientifically and systematically. The Purpose of this study is to forecast transit travel time using real-time traffic data coming from both buses and subway. This is significant contribution since provision of real-time transit information and easy access to it would most likely boost the use of mass transit system, alleviating roadway congestion in the metropolitan area.

Outlook of Discharge for Dam Watershed Using RCM and SWAT Based on A1B Scenario (A1B시나리오 기반 RCM과 SWAT모형을 이용한 댐유역 유출량 전망)

  • 금강유역에 대한 기후변화 영향을 기후모형 및 수자원영향평가모형을 통하여 정량적으로 분석하기 위하여 한반도 최적 GCM모형으로 기상청에서 제공하는 ECHO-G GCM모형과 역학적 다운스케일링 기법을 이용한 공간해상도 27km의 지역규모의 MM5 RCM모형을 이용하였다. A1B시나리오 기반으로 고해상도 기후변화 시나리오를 작성하여 분석기간을 2015년대(2001-2030), 2045년대(2031-2060), 2075년대(2061-2090)로 구분하여 미래 연평균강수량, 기온 등을 전망하였고, 과거 30년 자료의 100년빈도 강수량과 미래의 100년 빈도강수량의 변동성을 평가하였다. 기본적으로 GCM 및 RCM은 시공간적 스케일의 상이성으로 인해 수자원 영향 평가를 위한 자료로서 직접적인 이용은 현실적으로 곤란하다는 점에서 본 연구에서는 RCM 격자자료를 유역단위에서 강우관측소 지점 단위로 공간적 Downscaling을 실시하였으며 RCM 월자료에 대해서 일단위 자료로 시간적 Downscaling을 수행하여 기후모델로부터 발생하는 시공간적 스케일의 문제점을 극복하였다. 또한 유역단위의 상세수문시나리오를 생산하기 위해서 다지점 비정상성 Downscaling 기법을 활용하여 기존 일강수량 모의기법에서 간과 되었던 비정상성을 고려하여 미래 기후변화에 따른 강수사상의 변동성을 다양한 방법으로 검토하였다. 2001년~2006년 기간동안 SWAT모형을 이용하여 용담댐유역 용담댐 지점의 유입량과 SWAT의 최종방류부의 유량분석값을 비교한 결과 모의치와 실측치가 90.1% 일치하는 것으로 나타났고, 천천수위관측소 지점의 유량을 모형결과와 비교분석 한 결과에서도 91.3% 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 대청댐 지점의 유입량과 SWAT의 최종방류부의 유량분석값을 비교한 결과 모의치와 실측치가 84.4% 일치하는 것으로 나타나 금강유역내 용담댐 및 대청댐을 대상으로 유출분석 검토 결과 적용성이 있음을 확인하였다. 기후변화 분석기간은 2011년부터 2090년까지 80년을 대상기간 으로 선정하였으며, 분석결과 2011~2020년 사이 유출량이 18%증가하는 것으로 전망되었다.
