A Study on the Electronic Ballast for Neon Lamp (네온 램프용 전자식 안정기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper discusses the development of electronic ballast for neon lamp as an application of a zero voltage switching high frequency inverter. Abnormal increase of secondary voltage due to grounded fault or partial damage of serial arranged loads is clarified and the protection circuit for this abnormal voltage increase is proposed. Also stable lighting condition for removing the unstable characteristics due to different load conditions is proposed.

  • 간섭계의 광원으로 현재 레이저를 주로 사용하고 있다. 이러한 간섭계용 레이저의 조건은 선폭(linewidth) 이 좁아야 하고, 중심 주파수가 안정화 되어야 한다. 특히 거리용 간섭계의 경우, 주파수 안정화되어 있는 레이저가 사용되어 측정 불확도를 낮춘다. 그러나 점차 다축을 측정하기 위한, 또는 보다 넓은 영역을 측정하기 위해서는 보다 높은 출력의 레이저를 요하고 있다. 그러나 현재의 간섭계용 레이저는 헬륨네온 레이저로서 단일 모드 기준으로 2 mW 이하의 출력을 보이고 있어서 응용 면에 있어서 제약을 받는다. (중략)

  • We manufactured neon liquefaction system for cooling system of HTS motor. The neon liquefaction system consists of a GM refrigerator, a liquefaction vessel and a vacuum chamber. It is found that the neon starts to be liquefied in the liquefaction vessel after 35 minutes of cool-down from gas state of 294k. Capacity of neon liquefaction system and the liquefaction rate were about 36W, 0.1g/s.

Characteristics of Neon Color in Modern Fashion (현대 패션에 나타난 네온컬러의 특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to set up the theoretical foundation for neon colors by recognizing them as important elements of sensitive design and by comprehending their existence as a color fashion responsive to psychological and social background. As the subject of the present the researcher has selected important oversea collections of these five years during which neon colors have fully emerged as popular colors of fashion. The procedure of research was to examine the concept and traits of colors and investigate the utility of neon colors in various fields. The important facts which are acquired from the present study are as follows. First, the analysis of frequency has found out the following color arrangements: neon color only-8.6%(35), neon color+colorless-58.3%(236), neon color+ colored -14.8%(60),neon color+colorless+colored-18.3%(74), and others. The case of neon color used as monochromatic (color) was distinguished into two: single neon color all through and the same color used differently. Color arrangements were divided into analogous arrangement, separation arrangement, dominant arrangement, multi-color arrangement, and accent arrangement. Second, the internal significance of neon colors expressed in fashion can be interpreted into three: emphasis, optical Illusion, and amusing. This study has attempted to raised up the aesthetic value of various color expression and to expand fashion image by interpreting the trends of color fashion together with the traits and aesthetic meaning of color in fashion. The future study intends to expand the expression area of fashion design and to interpret molding beauty through the image of color arrangement and through fashion style utilizing neon colors.

가스장 이온 소스(Gas Field Ionization Source)기반의 이온총 개발과 특성

  • 현재의 나노기술 및 부품은 나노미터 이하의 초고분해능을 요구하면서도 나노미터 이하의 정확도로 가공할 수 있는 기술을 요구하고 있다. 이온현미경은 위 두 요구조건을 만족하는 차세대 현미경으로써 초고분해능 이미징과 함께 기존의 갈륨이온을 사용하는 집속이온빔 장치보다 네온가스등을 이용하여 더 정밀하게 에칭 및 스퍼터링을 할 수 있다. 이온현미경은 전자현미경에 비해 더 깊은 초점심도를 갖으며, 색수차와 구면수차에 비교적 둔감하고 전자에 비해 무거운 이온의 무게 때문에 짧은 파장을 갖는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 특징을 이용하면 전자현미경과 다른 여러 특징과 장점을 갖는 고분해능의 현미경을 제작할 수 있다. 이와 같이 차세대 현미경으로 주목받는 이온현미경의 중요한 부분인 이온총은 현재 가스장 이온 소스 방법으로 대부분 개발되고 있다. 가스장 이온 소스는 1950년대에 E. W. Muller에 의해 개발된 전계 이온 현미경(Field Ion Microscope)에서 응용된 방법으로 뾰족한 탐침에서의 가스 이온화를 기반으로 한다. 가장 보편적으로 사용되는 재질은 텅스텐으로 수십 nm 정도의 곡률 반경을 갖도록 제작하고 초고진공에 설치하여 강한 양전압을 인가함과 동시에 가스를 팁 주변에 넣어주면 팁표면에서 이온빔이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같이 차세대 나노장비로써 주목받는 이온현미경의 특징에 대해 소개하고, 특히 이온현미경의 이온총 원천기술 개발을 위해 연구하고 있는 가스장 이온 소스의 특성에 대해 소개한다. 수소, 네온, 헬륨의 전계 이온현미경과 함께 생성된 이온빔의 안정도 및 각전류 밀도를 계산하여 실제 이온총으로의 적용 가능성에 대해 보여준다.

Simultaneous measurement of in-plane and out-of-plane displacement using holographic interferometry (홀로그래피 간섭계를 이용한 횡변위와 종변위의 동시 측정)

  • We set up a four-wave holographic interferometer using a symmetric dual-beam illumination which is to measure in-plane and out-of-plane displacement simultaneously. In order to acquire the displacement phase map we applied the phase-shifting method and removed the noise of the phase map with least-squares fitting. In this approach the access to information relative to both the difference and sum of phases existing in the two arms of four-wave holographic interferometer was allowed. As a result, in-plane and out-of-plane displacement was measured to the accuracy of λ/40 and λ/100, respectively at λ=632.8nm

  • Although laser interferometer measurement system has the advantage of range and accuracy, the traditional error measurement methods for geometric errors(two straightness and three angular errors) of a machine tool measures error components one at a time. It may also create an optical path difference and affect the measurement accuracy. In order to identify and compensate for geometric error of a moving body, an on-line measurement system for simultaneous detection of the five error components of a moving axis is required. An on-line measurement system with 5 degrees of freedom was developed for geometric error detection. Performance verification of the system was performed on an error generating mechanism. Experimental results show the feasibility of this system for identifying geometric errors of a side of machine tool.

  • The most important thing to be considered in designing stop lamps for automobiles is to satisfy the photometric requirement in various countries and achieve the equal image. To meet these requirements, parabolic reflector and fish-eye optics has been widely applied. The form of the embodied optic is most important in satisfying the photometric requirement and achieving the equal image because the impact of fish-eye optic is decisive. In this study, a series of researches has been performed to optimize of the fish-eye optic by analyzing beam pattern through the photometric simulation based on CATAI program. The optimized results have been shown to meet the various photometric requirements including non dazzling condition considering the following car. The methodology of this study is excepted to influence the development procedure of light system. The time and cost for the system development would be greatly saved by suing this simulaion technique.

  • In this paper, we describe the RLG current stabilizer circuit for attitude control in the satellite. The RLG makes use of the Sagnac effect within a resonant of a HeNe laser. The difference between two discharge currents causes one of the gyro bias errors. The theoretical background and current stabilizer are introduced. It is verified that the circuit designed is applicable to the test of input voltage and temperature.
