Effects of Micro-fin Structure on Spray Cooling Heat Transfer in Forced Convection and Nucleate Boiling Region (강제대류 및 핵비등영역에 있어서 마이크로 휜 형상이 분무냉각 열전달에 미치는 영향)

  • In the present study, spray cooling heat transfer was experimentally investigated for the case in which water is sprayed onto the surfaces of micro-fins in forced convection and nucleate boiling regions. The experimental results show that an increase in the droplet flow rate improves heat transfer due to forced convection and nucleate boiling in the both case of smooth surface and surfaces of micro-fins. However, the effect of subcooling for fixed droplet flow rate is very weak. Micro-fins surfaces enhance the spray cooling heat transfer significantly. In the dilute spray region, the micro-fin structure has a significant effect on the spray cooling heat transfer. However, this effect is weak in the dense spray region. A previously determined correlation between the Nusselt number and Reynolds number shows good agreement with the present experimental data for a smooth surface.

  • An optimal fuel manifold is suggested to improve the cooling performance of an injector face plate. The cooling performance at the center area of the injector face plate is to be augmented while the spatial injection uniformity is maintained. The comparison of the cooling performance of f candidates gives the conclusion that the dividing plate from 2-3 injector .ow to 9-10 injector. row is an optimal. The maximum face plate temperature decreases by 27$\%$ while the injection uniformity is close to that of the original design. The pressure drop in the fuel manifold of the optimal design is also same as the original design.

  • The present study investigates to improve the film cooling performance on the vane endwall. Numerical simulation was conducted to analyze film cooling characteristics on the vane endwall. Six different hole arrangements were designed considering flow characteristics on the endwall. The results showed that the film cooling effectiveness was low on the pressure side and nozzle throat in the base case, because coolant was deflected from the pressure side to the suction side. On the other hand, when the holes were installed near the pressure side, the film cooling effectiveness was enhanced on the pressure side and nozzle throat, because the coolant was less affected by cross flow. Therefore, the film cooling effectiveness increases about 16% compared to the base hole arrangement.

  • The objective of this study was to examine numerically the heat transfer and flow characteristics of the heat pipe with a wick using the simplified heat transfer model to enhance the cooling effects of high heat flux devices and minimizing the energy consumption for electric vehicles. The heat pipe with a wick was analyzed using commercial software with COMSOL and water was used as the working fluid. The velocity and temperature characteristics of the heat pipe were simulated numerically along the heat pipe and the local and average Nusselt numbers were calculated. As a result, the driving force occurred because of the temperature difference between the hot side and the cold side. The heat transfer of the heat pipe occurred from the hot side to the cold side and increased toward the center position. In addition, the average Nusselt numbers were 1.88 for the hot side and 0.1 for the cold side, and the maximum Nusselt number was 4.47 for the hot side and 0.7 for the cold side.

  • The cooling characteristics of a hot steel plate by a laminar impinging water bar were investigated experimentally. The dynamic parameters investigated were nozzle height L between nozzle and the hot plate, flow rate Q, and initial cooling temperature. Because the boiling phenomena on a hot steel plate are unsteady and change discontinuously, it is difficult to analyze the cooling characteristics directly. In this study the cooling efficiency was estimated by using the temperature decay rates and expansion speed of the water cooling zone. Temperature in the water cooling zone decreased rapidly and the radius of the water cooling zone expanded nearly in proportion to square root of the cooling time. With increasing initial temperature of a hot steel plate, the cooling efficiency became descendent. The cooling curve in the case of L/D = 30 showed the largest temperature decay rate and excellent cooling performance.

  • The 18650 battery cell is known to be reliable and cost effective, but it has a design limitation and low electric capacity compared to pouch-type cells. Because its economy is superior, an 18650-cell-type battery pack is chosen. A reliable temperature is very important in automobile battery packs. Therefore, in this study, the temperature stability of the battery pack is predicted using CFD simulation. Following 3C discharge tests, the results for the heat generation of the battery cell are compared to the simulation results. Based on these results, a natural convection condition, forced convection condition, direct cell-cooling condition, cooling condition on the upper and lower surfaces of the battery pack, and cooling condition using air channels are all simulated. The results indicate that the efficiency and the performance of the air-channel-type cooling system is good.

재생냉각용 연소기의 브레이징 공정 개발

  • 액체로켓엔진에 사용되는 2000psi이상의 고압 연소실(Combustion Chamber)의 냉각은 내피(Inner Shell)에 기계 가공된 냉각통로(Cooling Channel)로 냉각제를 흘려보내는 재생냉각방식이 널리 사용되며 기계 가공된 냉각 통로는 외피(Outer Shell)에 의해서 지지 밀봉된다. 일반적으로 내피 재료는 순수한 구리보다 강도가 우수하고 열전도도는 유사한 구리합금을 사용하고, 외피는 강도가 우수한 스테인레스 강을 사용하여 브레이징 접합된 구조를 형성한다. 브레이징 공정은 조립품을 약 $450^{\cire}C$ 이상의 액상선을 갖는 삽입금속(Filler Metal)을 사용하여 적당한 온도($450^{\cire}C$ ~ 모재의 고상선)에서 가열하여 접합시키는 방법으로, 용융 금속의 젖음 현상(Wetting Phenomena), 접합 틈새(Joint Clearance)로의 용융 삽입금속의 유입(Capillary Phenomena)과 접합 계면의 반응을 통해서 접합이 이루어진다. 이는 일반적인 접합 공정과 비교하여 모재의 변형이 적고, 이종 금속 간의 접합이 용이하며, 복잡한 부품을 정밀하게 접합할 수 있는 장점이 있으나, 접합될 제품의 표면 상태 및 분위기(Atmosphere), 접합될 부품간의 조립 틈새, 가열 싸이클(Heating Cycle) 등에 대한 공정 확립 및 관리가 매우 중요하다. 재생냉각 구조를 갖는 연소실은 우선 접합면의 형상이 매우 복잡하여 균일한 접합 틈새를 유지하면서 접합시키기가 매우 어려우며, 고온, 고압의 환경에서 작동하므로 일부 접합면이 접합되지 않을 경우 내피의 변형 및 파괴가 발생하고, 브레이징 시 용융된 삽입금속이 냉각통로 내로 유입될 경우 연소 시 이부근에서 재료의 용융이 발생될 수 있다. 따라서, 이러한 현상을 방지하기 위해서는 진공 분위기 하에서 적절한 접합 틈새를 유지할 수 있는 공정 및 장비의 개발이 필요하다.

  • The denser and higher speed telecommunication systems get, the more electromagnetic waves and more heat they throw off. With power predictions lastly for the upcoming systems, they need the enforced method to optimize the technologies between shielding effectiveness and cooling characteristics. In the present study, the shielding effectiveness and cooling characteristics for en- closures with multiapertures considered as fundamental solution in telecommunication systems are performed both of experimentally and unmerically. The shielding effectiveness measured from ex- perimental work is compared with both of the analytical data for flat plates with multi-apertures and the cooling characteristics by the numerical solution. As results, the most significant influence on the shielding effectiveness of enclosures is determined by the porosities of apertures, and it is found that shielding effectiveness and cooling capabilities are significant varied, reciprocally,at which porosity is more than 80%.

  • 강재의 냉각, 특히 물을 사용한 강제냉각은 제철공정에서 실용되어지고 있음에도 불구하고 그 냉각과정에서 어떠한 현상이 일어나고 있는 지는 아직까지 명확치 못한 부분도 많고, 열전달율의 정량\ulcorner인 값도 불확실한 부분이 많다. 석유 shock 이래, energy 사용의 절약을 부르짖는 이때 물 상용의 절감 또한 절실히 요구되고 있다. 따라서 철강관계자도, 전열관계자도 이방면에 중대한 관심을 기울이게 됨은 물론 연구는 문의 수도 점차로 늘어나기 시작했다. 제철공정에서 가장 중요한 부분을 차지하는 온도범위는 감재표면열도의 200-1300.deg.C정도사 이 이지만 이중 300-800.deg.C 정도 범위에서는 인체면과 물사이의 전열현상을 가장 잘 알지 못하는 범위이다. 이범위의 실험치를 개관하면 실험하는 사람에 따라서 열전달율에 약간의 정도차가 있으며, 아 직까지 연구의 단서만 나온 것 뿐이라는 관점이다. 강재냉각의 전망에 대해서는 삼봉의 훌륭한 교재가 있으며, 본자료에서 는 냉각하는 경우에 생기는 현상을 중심으로 전열연구자의 입장에서 연구현황과 그 문제점을 논술해 보고자 한다.
