A Study on the Development of the Console with LCD Panel for Exterior Advertizing (LCD 패널을 탑재한 옥외 광고용 콘솔 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The development of the console for exterior advertizing LCD Panel(LCD Console) is the purpose of this study with regard to importance of display industry. In this study, the most important point is to develop the cooling system for LCD Console. It is developed by using systematic application techniques and statistical tests and analysis to integrate commercial components, cooling fan, heat sink, thermo electronic modules etc, of it. This study, at first, shows design/manufacturing process of the cooling system and the setting process of control factors to control through experimentation. Next, after constructing the complete console, 46 inch LCD Panel and the cooling system are built in, the performance test of it is shown through experimentation.

  • MIRIS(Multipurpose InfraRed Imaging System)는 과학기술위성 3호의 주 탑재체이며 2012년 하반기 발사예정이다. MIRIS 우주관측 카메라는 0.9-2.0 ${\mu}m$ 영역에서 3.67 deg. x 3.67 deg. FOV로 우리 은하평면 survey 관측과 우주배경복사(CIB) 관측을 수행할 것이다. 현재 MIRIS는 비행모델 개발 마무리 단계에 있으며, 검교정 시험, 열-진공 시험, 진동 시험 등을 수행하고 나면 2011년 말 위성 본체와의 조립을 진행할 것이다. 망원경이 복사냉각(Passive Cooling)을 통해 200K 이하로 냉각되면, dewar에 설치된 소형 냉각기를 가동하여 적외선 센서를 90K 정도로 냉각한다. MIRIS 우주관측카메라에는 PICNIC($256{\times}256$ pixel) 센서를 사용하였고, 상온과 냉각된 상태에서의 노이즈 특성을 측정하였다. PICNIC 센서와 dewar내부를 냉각하기 위해 RICOR사의 K-508 micro stirling cooler를 사용하는데, cooler가 동작하면서 전자부에 영향을 주어 주된 잡음으로 나타남을 확인하였다. Cooler에서 발생하는 잡음을 최소화 하기위해 fanout B/D와 LVPS 부분을 개선하였으며, 본 발표에서는 잡음 측정 결과에 대해 논의 하고자 한다.

  • We made two injectors that were equal to all design except for existence or nonexistence of swirl chamber of fuel part, because we want to find cooling characteristics at the injector face according to existence or non existence of swirl chamber of fuel part. And we set regenerative cooling channel in injector face for protecting injector face for prolonged combustion time. Two injectors were performed hot firing test, and then we compared cooling characteristics of two injectors. Also we compared O/F ratio effects on cooling characteristics and combustion characteristics.

  • The numerical analysis for the verification of preburner's cooling characteristics applying to kerosene-LOx rocket engine has been fulfilled. The distribution of combustion gas properties in primary combustion zone was calculated by the mixture ratio based on head injector arrangement, the properties of oxygen flowing in wall channels as coolant were applied under real-gas conditions, and multi-phase mixing model was employed to calculate the mixing process of primary combustion zone with liquid oxygen which was used for wall cooling. The results of numerical analysis were compared with the experimental results, hence thermo-physical properties in cooling channels and a combustor could be quantitatively identified.

  • The solar photovoltaic Power generator can get more power with the higher solar radiation quantity. However, if the higher solar radiation quantity on cell becomes high temperature, the efficiency of generate will be reduced. To install cooling system for this kind of device can be the way to solve high temperature problem on cell but another problems after install it such as increasing of solar generated quantity problem, cost to install cooling system and cost to be maintained cooling system weren't discussed to practical use this system. So the present paper described about effect and commercial business possibility of cooling system.

  • The development of high-pressure sub-scale combustion chambers is described. A total of four high-pressure sub-scale combustion chambers having either a detachable structure of the mixing head and the chamber or a single welded regenerative cooling structure have been developed. The sub-scale combustion chambers have a chamber pressure of 70 bar and propellant mass flow rate of 5.1~9.1 kg/s. The propellant mass flow rate and the recess number of the injector were changed for the improvement of combustion performance and they were validated through hot firing tests. The design and manufacturing techniques of regenerative cooling channel and film cooling to be applied to the full-scale combustion chamber were adopted through the present development and verified.

  • An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effect of film cooling in a liquid rocket engine using Hydrogen peroxide/Kerosene as propellants. The heat fluxes were calculated by the measured wall temperatures on the axial direction of thrust chamber for mass flow rate of coolant and different type of film cooling rings. The flow rate of coolant was 0~20 percent of the total propellant.

  • In a liquid rocket engine using hydrocarbon fuels, cooling of the combustion chamber wall is necessary to prevent the combustion chamber wall from melting or structurally deforming due to high heat flux. Among the various methods, regenerative cooling, which uses fuel as a coolant and then injects it into the combustion process, has good performance. This study investigated the heat transfer characteristics of kerosene as a coolant by varying the copper cross-sectional area, the flow rate in the channel, and the current applied to the channel. Convective heat transfer occurred rapidly when the cross-sectional area of the copper channel was small and when the kerosene flow velocity was fast.

  • It is important to consider powertrain cooling performance, when engine is applied to new vehicle. If the performance is poor, engine will be damaged by overheating. But, the development timing of engine is faster than timing of vehicle, it is difficult to test the cooling performance of new engine and vehicle. In this study the powertain cooling performance was estimated with some test and calculation data. First, the heat rejection test was conducted. From this test, the heat rejection data at required rpm and load was acquired. Second, coolant flow test was conducted. From this test coolant flow rate to radiator was measured. Then engine torque and rpm was calculated from vehicle load and speed. Vehicle load and speed was calculated from test mode. Then by comparing these data, the powertrain cooling performance was estimated.

KSTAR 중성입자빔 입사장치의 크라이오 배기계통 설계 개념

  • KSTAR 토카막은 보조가열 장치로 2005년까지 1대(최종적으로는 2대)의 중성입자빔 입사장치(NBI)를 설치하여 장치의 기본 설계값에 도달할 예정이다. KSTAR NBI는 3개의 이온원을 가지고 있으며 총 수소 유입량은 70 Torr.L/s인 반면 고속 중성 입자빔량은 모두 11 Torr.L/s로 기체 배기량은 59 Torr.L/s에 달하고 압력은 장소에 따라 10-5~10-6 Torr로 유지되며 총배기속도가 1~2$\times$106 L인 펌프가 필요하다. 이때 크라이오 펌프(cryopump) 방식이 거의 유일한 해결책이라고 할 수 있다. 크라이오 펌프는 고속 입자빔 수송로의 양편에 각각 설치되는데 총면적 30m2 내외의 극저온 냉각판(cryo-pnael)들과 이를 상온 열복사로부터 보호하기 위한 열차폐(thermal shield) 및 흡기구 배플(baffle), 그리고 적절한 냉각장치로 구성된다. 시운전 단계에서는 15K GM 냉동기와 활성탄이 부착된 냉각판을 사용하는 방식과 4K GM 냉동기로 냉각하는 방식이, 최종 운전단계에서는 3.7K 액체 헬륨을 사용하는 방식이 고려되고 있다. 크라이오 펌프의 구조설계에 앞서 우선 배기속도, 흡?량, 작동압력, 냉각판 온도, 열손실량 등 설계사양을 확정하고 정리하는 일이 진행되고 있다. 또 냉각방식과 상관없이 동일한 개념으로 만들어지는 배플과 열차폐의 최적설계를 위한 몬테카를로 계산과 열전도 계산을 병행하고 있다. 이 곳에서는 KSTAR NBI 장치의 주배기계로서 사용될 크라이오 펌프의 설계방향과 전반적인 구조 및 예상성능 등에 대해 발표하려고 한다.
