Way of Training English Teacher's of Verbally Talented Children for convergence-based Education in the Digital Age (디지털 시대의 융·복합 교육을 위한 영어영재 교사교육 방안)

  • This study tries to address several problems embedded in the training of English teachers for gifted programs. With a critical analysis of current English Education and English teacher training, the researcher points out some possible problems in English Education and English teacher training in South Korea. The researcher also points out possible problems in teaching English for Gifted Children. Based on the given problems, the researcher accordingly suggests available solution to English Education for gifted Children, and also better ways of English teacher training for gifted programs. The researcher suggests bilingual, production-based and convergence-based English education for gifted children and those English teachers for gifted children.

  • 국가적 차원에서 추진하는 영재교육의 목적은 개인의 자아실현과 더불어 국가와 사회에서 필요로 하는 고급 인재를 양성하는 데 있다. 특히, 정보화 시대를 이끌어 갈 정보영재의 발굴과 교육은 더욱 중요하다. 컴퓨터 교육 중 프로그래밍 교육은 컴퓨터 소양, 창의적 사고와 문제 해결력, 수학적 사고력, 추론 능력을 신장시키는 정보 교육의 중요한 분야임에도 불구하고 정보영재를 위한 체계적인 교육 내용이 확립되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 초등정보영재를 위한 프로그레밍 언어교육의 필요성을 살펴보고 프로그래밍 교육을 위한 교육내용을 구성하였으며 논리력 향상 및 문제 해결력 중심의 비주얼 베이직 교육 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 특징은 첫째, 학습자에게 실제 프로그램을 작성할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 둘째, 학습한 이론을 실제 프로그램 작성에 응용할 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 프로그램상의 오류 수정 활동과 제시된 예제의 다양한 해결 방법을 통해 문제 해결력과 논리적 사고력을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그래밍 학습 시스템을 제공한다.

Contents Analysis on Hangul-learning Applications for Preschoolers - Comparative Analysis by Teaching Methods (유아대상 한글학습용 애플리케이션 평가 및 내용 분석 -언어 교수방법에 따른 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the contents of Korean-learning applications by comparing two teaching methods(Phonics Instruction/Whole Language Approach). For this purpose, a total of 51 Korean-learning applications were analysed. The instruments used in this study were developed based on Applications for preschoolers Evaluation Criteria and Vocabulary Game Applications for preschoolers Evaluation Criteria. The collected data were analyzed by using a t-test. The main results are as follows. First, 'Developmental appropriateness' had the highest scores whereas 'Amusement' had the lowest scores in general. Second, there was a significant difference in 'Interaction' by teaching method. Implications for the development of more systematic Korean-learning applications for preschoolers are discussed.

Reflections on the problems with English immersion programs: Perspectives of in-service teachers at primary English immersion schools (초등학교 영어몰입교육의 문제점에 대한 고찰: 연구학교 교사의 시각에서)

  • The present study has sought to explore the critical issues of English immersion education through the voices of the four elementary teachers who have recently taught at immersion programs under the guidance of Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education. The interview data with three teachers and the teaching journals of one teacher were analyzed and categorized into two emergent themes: (1) current difficulties in the immersion programs and (2) possible problems with the implementations of immersion programs in all public schools. Specifically, the first issue included teachers' inadequate teaching skills for immersion programs, accumulated learning losses, and lack of immersion class hours. The second issue included workload imposed on immersion program teachers, promotion of private education, learning losses of other subjects, and administration for show. Finally, pedagogical implications are suggested.

  • 학교 현장에서 이루어지는 교육의 대부분은 교수자 중심의 내용 전달식이다. 프로그래밍 언어와 같은 실습을 필요로 하는 학습에 교수자 중심의 교육을 적용할 경우 문제점이 많다. 실습을 통한 활용보다 언어 자체의 기능 설명에 비중을 두기 때문에 학생들의 흥미와 관심을 유발하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 최근 주목받고 있는 Web 2.0 패러다임인 참여, 공유 및 개방을 교육 분야에 적용하는 것은 당연할 것이다. 본 연구는 C 프로그래밍 언어 학습에 있어서 Web 2.0 클라이언트 기술 중 Ajax를 활용하여 학습자의 참여를 북돋우며, 또한 학습 시스템의 효율적인 자원 사용을 도모하고자 한다.

Research trends of bilingual education for children from multicultural families : focused on foreigner parent's language education (국내 다문화가정 자녀를 위한 이중언어교육 연구동향 -이주부모나라 언어교육을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends of bilingual education which are focused on foreigner parent's language education for children from multicultural families in South Korea. After searching, total 36 research papers were selected and analyzed. Results from this study showed that, (1) relevant researches started from 2009, later then the number of researches kept about 4-6 yearly and reached the peak of 11 (31%) in 2004; (2) a large majority (75%) of the analyzed researches published in the magazines relative to a field of language education or children education; (3) diverse research methods were employed, and the number of researches applied on qualitative research methods is similar with on quantitative ; (4) the researches mainly studied on the members of multicultural families (67%), and 10 analyzed researches investigated parents and children together 28%, and 9 targeted on parents or one of them (25%), and 5 just on the children from multicultural families (14%). and, (5) The research topics mainly divided into four fields current bilingual education programs (31%), bilingual education (31%), interaction related to bilingual education (22%), suggestion on policy improvement(17%). Based on the results, discussions and implications for further research and practice on bilingual education and foreigner parent's language education will be provided.

  • In this study, the study conducted an analysis of the generic type of personality classes in the programming language class of the industrial high school, and conducted a thorough identification of the central type. Learners studied C language in the preceding academic year. Typology and classes of Java programming followed by classes. Prior to the start of the fourth week of the school semester, it conducted a preliminary examination of the contents of the contents of the C language similar to those of C language and language, and conducted a preliminary examination before the vacation ceremony. Through this study, we learned the difficulties and benefits of learning various programming languages.

Content Analysis of Food and Nutrition Unit in High School Textbooks of Home Economics: Focus on the National Curriculums from 7th to 2015 Revised (고등학교 '기술·가정' 교과 식생활 영역의 교육내용 분석: 제7차 교육과정부터 2015 개정 교육과정까지의 교과서 내용을 중심으로)

  • This study is focused on the examination of changes in textbooks of Home Economics in High school from 7st to 2015 curriculum, especially the 'Food and Nutrition section. We investigated the content elements of the National Curriculum Guide, the changes in learning contents, and the number of pages of Food and Nutrition section. The key words were extracted and the connective relationships between words were visualized using a method of language network analysis through word cloud and Semantic Network Analysis. According to the results of the research, the portion of the Food and Nutrition section has been gradually decreased on the Technology·Home Economics, following the development of the curriculum. Through the whole curriculum, 'invitation', 'Korean food', 'baby·nutrition' are appeared as key words. The education contents of Food and Nutrition section from the 7th to 2015 revised have been developed and advanced with the changes of social needs. However, the reduction of portion and insufficiency of content elements of Food and Nutrition section bring concerns toward the decline of the quality of education on dietary life.

  • When you look at computer training techniques, generally you will see an unbalanced focus towards the software applications being used. Office programs, including software applications, or simply the ability to operate has been assigned in the attempt to develop more information. Omitted, while a students thought process dealing with computer applications is usually clear and effective, the functional oriented tasks involved are time consuming. In order to keep up with the pace of today changing requirements, creativity and problems solving ability is a necessity.   • Since 2015, the government has been striving to strengthen the software capabilities required for future talent through software-oriented university in Korea. In the university selected as a software-oriented university, basic software education is given to all departments such as humanities, social science, engineering, natural science, arts and the sports within the university in order to foster convergent human resources with different knowledge and software literacy. In this paper, we analyze the contents of basic software education for twenty universities selected as software-oriented universities. As a result of analysis, most of the basic software education which is carried out to the students of the non-majors students was aimed at improvement of problem solving ability centered on computational thinking for future society and improvement of convergence ability based on computer science. It uses block-based educational programming language and text-based advanced programming language to adjust the difficulty of programming contents and contents reflecting characteristics of each major. Problem-based learning, project-based learning, and discussion method were used as the teaching and learning methods for problem solving. In the future, this paper will help to establish the systematic direction for basic software education of non-majors students.
