본 논문은 기존 폰트 디자인을 고찰하여 한글과 라틴 알파벳 디자인의 형태 유사성을 향상시키기 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다. 고찰을 위해 윤디자인 대표 폰트 20종을 선정하였다. 형태적 관점에서 글자 디자인적 유사성을 찾기 위해 낱자, 낱글자, 낱말, 문장을 기준으로 고찰하였다. 윤디자인 대표 폰트 20종의 한글과 라틴 알파벳 글자 디자인의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 낱자(자소) 디자인은 동일한 형태이지만, 크기와 비례가 변화할 수 있다. 둘째, 낱글자(음절) 디자인은 낱글자 전체의 디자인을 위해 부분적으로 다른 형태를 디자인할 수 있다. 셋째, 낱말(단어) 디자인은 낱말의 우월효과를 고려하여야 한다. 넷째, 문장의 디자인은 글줄의 흐름을 고려하여 글자의 크기, 비례와 기준선을 디자인하여야 한다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the processing unit in Korean word.Three experiments were conducted to examine this question.Preliminary experiment and Enperiment I were executed to delineate the processing unit in singles syllable word and Experiment 2,for words two or more syllables.The major finding of the preliminary experiment showed that the effect of the consonant type was not significant but that of the letter position was.Reaction time increased as the position of letter increased.The difference in reaction time between the first and the second position was not significant.However,the difference between the second and third was.In the Experiment 1, the effect of the number of letter was significant: reaction time increased as the number of letters increased.The size of the position effect both in the preliminary experiment and Experiment 1was comparable.Result of Experiment 2 was such that regardless of the presence of the final consonant(s),the reaction time incresased linearly as the number of svllables increased from two to four. The findings of the present study suggest that:(1)processing unit in single syllable Korean words is a syllable without the final consonant(s):(2) but in words of two or more syllables,the unit is likely to be a syllable with the final consonant(s).

The purpose of this study was to design and develop a multimedia program for elementary school students' emergent literacy teaching. The program aims at helping students improve their reading ability and enhance their letter decoding ability through drill-and-practice as well as tutorial instructional strategies. To that end, the instructional materials were reorganized so as to provide a basic syllable table and writing examples with standard pronunciation. The multimedia program is composed of three sections: basic literacy teaching, advanced literacy teaching, and evaluation sections. The implications of the study were discussed.

Typography is very important for the delivery of information and for its aesthetic functions, typography focuses on facilitating faster and easier legibility for audience in modern society. But analysis for pre-studies for typography are limited in trend in the center of Kinetic Typography, dissolution of typography and territory extend as well as its typography analyzed by plastic arts aspects to acutely requiring expressing strategy and study based on typographic theory in working-level are insufficient. This study is to apply systematic theory to typography in order to suggest guidelines for increasing utility of typography for graphic design. It presents case studies, organized by theme, focusing on graphic design artworks featured in world-renowned specialty publications like the Creative 38 Annual Awards during 2008 and 2009. For practical help to designers engaged in various projects, it also suggests practical tactics for development that may enhance creative strategies in the creation of designs adopting typography. This study offers systematic usage methods of typography to the practical graphic designers and expected to contribute to the development of graphic designs that stimulate the visual senses of their audiences.
