Recently, since the risk on natural disasters is increasing due to abnormal weather such as the global warming, a need for a system on prior review on the influence of disasters has emerged in order to establish a solution by analyzing elements of disaster in advance. However, since the inherently destroying business namely the quarrying business is excluded from the range of subject business of Prior Review System on the influence of disasters, a correction for this is required. In order to actually explore how much risk it contains, actual outflow of soil and flood in the quarrying block where quarrying is being currently carried out was examined and the required undercurrent facility capacity which is also used as a grit chamber was investigated. In addition, by comparing the soil outflow of industrial complexes and golf courses which are current subject businesses of Prior Review on the Influence of Disasters and that of rock mountains relative risk level was examined. After investigation, it was found that the risk on occurrence of disasters was increased due to increase in outflow of soil and flood because of the change of land condition during and after development thus an adequate solution to decrease is required. In addition, after comparison with other business groups it was found that a significantly higher amount of soil is outflown in case of rock mountains thus it was analyzed that a solution to decrease is required. Therefore, a correction is immediately required in order to include quarrying business in the subject business of Prior Review System on the Influence of Disasters.

Current distribution measurement technique based on a segmented bipolar plate (BP) has been widely adopted to visualize the distribution of current density in a polymer electrolyte membrane. However, a concern is raised how closely the current density of a segmented BP can approach that of a corresponding non-segmented membrane. Therefore, in this paper, the accuracy of the measurement technique is numerically evaluated by applying a three-dimensional, two-phase fuel cell model to a $100\;cm^2$ area fuel cell geometry in which segmented BPs and non-segmented membrane are combined together. The simulation results reveal that the errors between the current densities of the segmented BPs and non-segmented membrane indeed exist, predicting the maximum relative error of 33% near the U-turn regions of the flow-field. The numerical study further illustrates that the erroneous result originates from the BPs segmented non-symmetrically based on the flow channels that allows some currents bypassing flow channels to flow into its neighboring segment. Finally, this paper suggests the optimal way for bipolar plate segmentation that can minimize the deviation of current measured in a segmented BP from that of a corresponding membrane region.

A generated problem in treated highly concentrated organic wastewater by activated sludge process is the limitation of biomass concentration and oxygen transfer capability in aeration tank. To overcome the limitation, the deep shaft activated sludge process which has high oxygen transfer capability was applied to the wastewater treatment process. This paper investigated the characteristics of liquid circulation, oxygen transfer and biological treatment of paper mill wastewater by the deep shaft activated sludge process. From the obtained results, it was found that the oxygen transfer capability in the deep shaft system was much greater than those in the conventional aeration systems and almost tantamount to the pure oxygen system. The deep shaft system could treat highly concentrated organic wastewater by higher biomass concentration and organic loading rate.
Orientations of liquid crystal molecules on a surface of a film of photoreactive polyvinylcinnamate were investigated in order to apply as an alignment layer of LCD. When the polyvinylcinnamate film was exposed to linearly polarized W light, optical anisotropy was induced in the film through a selective photoreaction. Liquid crystal molecules on a surface of the film was aligned along the oriented polymer chain direction through intermolecular interactions. Thermal and light stability of the photoaligned LC cell were studied by investigating LC alignment changes after the alignment layer was treated with heat and W light. When the film was exposed with linearly polarized UV several times, the LC alignment was induced only along the final UV exposure direction.
The structure development of drawn poly(trimethylene terephthalate) PTT as a function of draw down ratio and drawing temperature was studied. The special effort was made to find out the effect of structural development on thermal properties and crystallinity in drawn PTT. The changes in shrinkage ratio and mechanical properties were understood base on the level of crystallinity and orientation of the drawn PTT. The stress induced crystallization caused the increase in glass transition temperature and the decrease in cold crystallization temperature and enthalpy. The crystallinity and orientation were dependent upon the level of applied stress level as well as chain flexibility at high drawing temperature. The drawing resulted in the increase of shrinkage ratio but it was minimized by increasing of crystallinity. The development of orientation resulted in increasing modulus and tensile strength while decreasing elongation at break.

Recently, Proxy Mobile IPv6(PMIPv6) networks have been drawing attention as the mobility management protocol that uses limited wireless resources effectively. And the multicast, which is a core technology of the Internet broadcast system such as mobile IPTV, has been widely discussed mainly based on PMIPv6 network. However, PMIPv6-based multicast cannot support the global mobility directly between different PMIPv6 domains because PMIPv6 is basically designed for local mobility in single PMIPv6 domain. Moreover, PMIPv6-based multicast causes the disconnection of services because it does not solve the packet loss problem during binding and group joining procedure. In this paper, we propose a global mobility scheme that supports the seamless multicast service in PMIPv6 networks. The proposed scheme supports the global mobility due to the addition of extra signalling messages between LMAs. Also, it achieves low latency because it performs fast binding and group joining procedure. We present the simulation results which show that the proposed scheme achieves the global mobility with low latency through the NS-2 simulation.

The conventional monitoring of water quality constrained by time and equipment produce neither complete nor synoptic geographic coverage of pollutant distribution, transport, and water quality. To circumvent these limitations in temporal and spatial measurements, the use of remote sensing is increasingly being involved in the lacustrine environmental research. Consequently, satellite remote sensing, with its synoptic coverage, is used to obtain the eutrophication-related water quality parameters in Daecheong reservoir in this study. The approach involved acquisition of water quality samples from boats of 15 sites on 20 June 1995 and 30 sites on 18 March 1996, simultaneous with Landsat-5 satellite overpass. Regression models have been developed between the water quality parameters and Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM) digital data. The best regression model was determined based on the correlation coefficient which was higher than 0.6. As a result, satellite remote sensing can provide meaningful information on water quality parameters. The regression models developed in this study show good relationship for transparency, turbidity, SS, and chlorophyll, but not for TN and TP because their spectral characteristics are not well defined.

The reflectance of chlorophyll was measured using UV-VIS spectrophotometer with the reflectance integrator in the laboratory in order to define its spectral characteristics. Sharp peaks appear at around 485nm and 655nm due to fluorescence and scattering, and the reflectance of chlorophyll increases at 580nm. With the increase in the chlorophyll concentration, the reflectance also increases. We have applied TM data to the reflectance spectrum of chlorophyll and have developed two formula with which one can estimate the chlorophyll concetration. Satellite re sensing, with its synoptic overage, is used to obtain the chlorophyll concentration in Daecheong reservoir. The approach involved acquisition of water quality samples front boat simultaneous with Landsat 5 satellite overpass. The remotely-sensed data and the ground truth data were obtained oil 20 June 1995 and on 18 March 1996. Regression models have been developed between the chlorophyll concentration and Landsat Thematic Mapper digital data. As the regression model was determined based on the correlation coefficient which was higher than 0.7 and the spectral characteristics of chlorophyll, and we have applied it to the entire study area to genelate a distribution map of trophic state. According to the trophic state map made based upon Aizaki's TSI and chlorophyll a concentration, the area where Okchun stream was flowing into was shown to be polluted the most all over the Daechung reservoir by showing an eutrophic state in June 1995 and a mesotrophic state in March 1996.

Soil erosion by outflow of water or rainfall has caused many environmental problems as declining agricultural productivity, damaging pasture and preventing flow of water. As the interest in environment is increasing lately, soil erosion is considered as a serious problem, whereas the systematic regulation and analysis for that have not established yet. This research shows the method of extracting factor entered model which expects soil erosion by GSIS. There are several erosion model such as ANSWER, WEPP, RUSLE. The research used RUSLE erosion model which could expect general soil erosion connected easily with GSIS data. RUSLE's input factors are composed of rainfall runoff factor(R). soil erodibility factor(K), slope length factor(L), slope steepness factor(S), cover management factor(C) and support practice factor(P). The general equation used to extract L, S factor on the RUSLE to be oriented for agricultural area has some limitation to apply whole watershed. So, on this study we used a revised empirical equation applicable to the watershed by grid on the GSIS. Also, we analyzed RUSLE factors by watershed being analyzed with watershed extraction algorithm. Then we could calculate the minimum, maximum. mean and standard deviation of RUSLE factors by watershed.
It is generally agreed that transesterification provides the, copolymer in the melt blending of poly(ethylene naphthalate) (PEN) and poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) (PCL). Effects of the conditions of transesterification reaction and catalyst on the degree of randomness and average sequence length of PEN/PCL blends were investigated and results were used to interpret the biodegradability of PEN/PCL blends. It was found that degree of randomness values of obtained copolymer lied between 0 and 1, and it indicated that this blend consisted with physical blends of PEN/PCL and PEN/PCL block copolymers. The degree of randomness reached almost 1 which is the theoretical value of random copolymers and the average sequence length became shorter by the further transesterification reaction. In additions, it was found that the increase of copolymers, especially random copolymers reduced the biodegradability in PEN/PCL blends.
