Young-Jung Kim's Presupposition Logic Program (김영정 교수의 선제논리 프로그램)

  • After the unexpected death of the late professor Young-Jung Kim on July 28th last year, 4 pieces of paper unpublished were discovered. Those papers reveal that he had a grand program. In particular, we found that he had his own ideas and theory which he called "Presupposition Logic" and "Field Logic". In this paper, I will call his program "Presupposition Logic Program". He explored a new logic system, Presupposition Logic, in order to realize necessity and possibility of the closer relationship between logic and critical thinking. In this paper, I will expound what his "presupposition" and "Presupposition Logic" are and why he thought Presupposition Logic is necessary from a perspective of logic. And I will critically elucidate what was the problem that troubled him.

Existential Specification Rule and Universalized Conditionalization Rule: Starting from Young-Jung Kim's Work (존재 예화 규칙과 보편 조건문화 규칙 - 김영정 교수의 연구를 출발점으로 -)

  • The late professor Young-Jung Kim advanced a view that Existential Specification Rule (ES Rule) can be understood as a kind of polylemma. In arguing for this view, he also claimed that all propositions containing free variables are universal propositions. In this paper, I argue that his view on free variables incur numerous problems. Moreover, I introduce a new rule of inference called 'Universalized Conditionalization Rule' (UC Rule), so that I can show that his insight about ES Rule can be substantialized without an appeal to his problematic view on free variables. Finally, I show that ES Rule can be directly derived from UC Rule.

Kim on Critical Thinking (김영정 교수의 비판적 사고론)

  • The primary purpose of this paper is to examine critically the theory of critical thinking proposed by the late Professor Young-Jung Kim. He defined the basic properties of critical thinking as active reflectivity, and listed deepness, multilaterality and domain-transitivity as primary properties for which critical thinking aims. He, then, pursued how critical thinking can be merged with creativity and proposed the concept 'critico-creative thinking'. I argue that his theory of critical thinking has some limitation, but we can develop his critico-creative thinking further.

The Variation of Fracture Strength and Modes in $ZrO_2/NiTi$ Bond by Changing Reaction Layer ($ZrO_2/NiTi$ 접합부 반응조직에 따른 꺽임강도 및 파괴거동 변화)

  • The fracture strength and fracture modes were studied in 3Y-TZP/NiNi bonding which change their interfacial structure with bonding condition. Average 4-point bending strength of 200 MPa to 400 MPa were achieved. The formation of Ti-oxide phase at the interface critically influenced the bonding strength and fracture mode. The fracture surface of Ti-oxide free interface contained multiphase in some case including ZrO2. From the result it was confirmed that in order to maximize the bonding strength crack deflection from interface to ceramic was required.

  • An electron beam microcolumn composed of an electron emitter, micro lenses, scan deflector, and focus lenses have been fabricated and tested in the STEM mode. In this paper, we report a technique of precisely aligning the electron lenses by the laser diffraction patterns instead of the conventional alignment method based on aligner and STM. STEM images of a standard Cu-grid were observed using a fabricated microcolumn under both the retarding and accelerating modes.

The Behavior of the Formation of (111) Twins in $BaTiO_3$ Synthesized by Sol-Gel Route (졸-겔법으로 제조한 $BaTiO_3$에서(111)쌍정의 생성거동)

  • Ti(i-OC3H7)와 Ba(OH)2.8H2Or 그리고 공통용매로서 2-Methoxy Ethanol을 이용하여 균일 용액을 제조하고, 이로부터 미세하고 조성비가 균일한 BaTiO3분말을 제조하였다. 이러한 졸-겔법으로 제조된 분말을 TG-DTA와 XRD 분석으로 결정화 및 상변화를 관찰하였다. 각 온도별로 하소된 분말에서 (111)쌍정의 생성여부를 TEM을 이용해 관찰한 결과, 합성된 BaTiO3 분말에서는 하소중(111)쌍정의 생성이 활발히 일어나지 않는 것으로 판단되었다. 특히(111) 쌍정판은 합성된 겔을 120$0^{\circ}C$에서 하소한 후 이를 140$0^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 경우에만 관찰할 수 있었다. 이러한 하소온도의 영향은 원료분말의 입자크기나 형상이 쌍정 생성에 큰 영향을 미침을 의미하는 것으로, 본 연구에서는 이를 근거하여 (111) 쌍정의 생성에 대해서 고찰하였다.
