This study examines the performance of the successful small and medium size firms in their early stage. No sign of widespread chasm or the death valley among the sample firm is identified. More than half the sample firms had made reasonable forecast on the uncertainty of their future business before they were incorporated. Overall results of empirical studies carried out in this article allow us to assert that the difficulties experienced in the early stage are mostly manageable within the organization. This implies that the Government support for start-ups in early stage should be discouraged. Empirical investigation across different periods reveals, however, that the Government may have significant roles to play when it comes down to controlling the macroeconomic shocks.

최근 기업의 기술력이 기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향이 증가함에 따라 기업이 보유한 기술적 정보가 경영성과예측에 있어 필수적 요소로 대두되었다. 본 연구에서는 기업의 기술적 정보를 담고 있는 특허정보 및 특허지표를 활용하여 기업의 경영성과를 정량적으로 예측하는 모델을 제안한다. 또 미국 정보통신기업의 재무정보와 특허정보를 활용하여 제안된 예측모델을 구축하고 그 성능을 검증 및 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 기업실적예측 모델의 구축을 위해 인간의 두뇌가 학습하는 과정을 모방한 인공신경망알고리즘을 활용하였다.

As the Asian region becomes strategically important in the international construction market, competition among construction firms has been more intense. While existing literature on the Asian construction market have mainly focused on qualitative approaches to market entry strategies and risk assessment, quantitative research to explain the dynamic competitive structure of the market has been rarely conducted. To address this issue, this study analyzes the structure of contract performance in the Asian region based on the data from 3,996 projects awarded to Korean construction firms from 2009 to 2017. In addition, this study applies a mathematical model using both static (market concentration) and dynamic (market mobility and instability) analyses. Consequently, the static analysis indicates that market concentration led by top-four firms tends to be increased, and on the dynamic aspect, the market position of Korean construction firms is recently weakened and fluctuated in most of the Asian regions and the construction sectors. The methodology and result of this paper would be meaningful not only to understand the underlying structure of industry-level performance but also to provide a useful reference for establishing competitive strategies towards the Asian market.

저조한 해운시황과 고유가가 지속되고 이들 변수의 변동성이 커지면서 두 변수가 해운업체의 영업수익성에 미치는 영향도 커지고 있다. 금융위기 이후 급감한 해운 수요는 유럽 재정위기가 겹치며 쉽사리 증가하지 못하고 있는 반면, 호황기에 발주된 선박들이 대거 인도되어 선복량 공급은 꾸준히 증가하면서 선복량 수급 불균형이 시황 회복의 발목을 잡고 있다. 또한, 해운 운임과 유가의 변동성 확대는 해운시황 침체와 함께 불확실성을 증대시켰고, 그에 따라 해운업체 영업실적의 불확실성도 확대되었다. 뿐만 아니라 이들 변수의 움직임에 의해 영업수익성이 좌우되는 모습을 보이고 있다. 이에 해운 운임 및 연료유 가격과 해운업체 영업수익성의 상관관계를 분석적 관점에서 살며보고 이를 바탕으로 2013년 해운업체의 실적에 대해 전망해 보는 동시에 유동성 상황을 점검해 보았다. 다음은 한국기업평가에서 발표한 "해운업계 실적 전망과 유동성 점검"의 주요 내용을 요약 정리한 것이다.

지난해 국내 디지털콘텐츠(DC) 기업들은 DC 시장의 빠른 성장에도 불구하고 많은 부침을 겪어야 했다. 엔씨소프트, NHN, 웹젠, 오위즈 등 각 부문 리딩컴퍼니들은 괄목할만한 성장을 거뒀지만 훨씬 많은 기업들은 매출 부진의 늪에 빠져, 수익감소에 허덕여야 했다. 특히 PC게임 및 애니메이션 기업들은 연이은 흥행실패에 따라 아예 사업구조를 전환하는 등 대안 마련에 부심해야 했다. 상장 · 등록된 기업들을 중심으로 DC기업들의 성적표를 살펴보고, 이들의 2004년 행보를 전망해 봤다.
