A Study on Performance Analysis of Companies Adopting and Not Adopting Win-win Smart Factories (상생형 스마트공장 도입기업과 미도입기업의 성과분석에 관한 연구)

  • A Smart factories are systems that enable quick response to customer demands, reduce defect rates, and maximize productivity. They have evolved from manual labor-intensive processes to automation and now to cyber-physical systems with the help of information and communication technology. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are still unable to implement even the initial stages of smart factories due to various environmental and economic constraints. Additionally, there is a lack of awareness and understanding of the concept of smart factories. To address this issue, the Cooperation-based Smart Factory Construction Support Project was launched. This project is a differentiated support project that provides customized programs based on the size and level of the company. Research has been conducted to analyze the impact of this project on participating and non-participating companies. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the support policy and suggest efficient measures for improvement. Furthermore, the research aims to provide direction for future support projects to enhance the manufacturing competitiveness of SMEs. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the overall manufacturing industry and drive innovation.

A Study on the CM at Risk Business Model using Business Model Canvas (비즈니스 모델 캠버스(BMC)를 이용한 시공책임형 CM 비즈니스 모델에 관한 연구)

  • The domestic market of CM at Risk has not been activated yet. It was analyzed duo to the fact that construction owners didn't have confidence in CM at Risk, because of the concerns regarding CM firms reliability, service, specialty, system and feasibility. Therefore, this study analyzed the problems to find the reason for declines in orders through a business diagnosis based on the Business Model Canvas(BMC) and set up the direction of business model improvement with one on one expert interviews. Additionally, we suggested the sub-activities for the business model improvements of CM at Risk service that are divided into 9 building blocks. Through this method, we determined that we would need preceding innovation activities such as good communication with customers, reinforcement of subcontract and excellence in project operations to convert the successful practice and settlement of the CM business model based in BMC. It is expected that the business model suggested from this study would contribute to improvement of CM at Risk competition and the differentiation strategy when compared with other firms. Also, it would be used a basis data to develop CM at Risk business model in the future.

  • It is necessary that the industry has to develop various automated control technology for efficient creation of manufacture automation system according to rapid market situation. One of the technologies is the fused complex control based on PLC-based controlled system. According to rapid growth and distribution of various automated control technologies using PLC, the engineers in automation, Production and manufacturing technologies fields have difficulties in systematic studying on the technologies by choosing an optimal route due to various industry-applied examples and ranges, in spite that the technology is essential. Therefore, the researchers indicate applied outputs and effects extracted by systematically developing systematic company-specified training program by analyzing education procedure drawbacks for S-company engineers.

A Study of Industrial and Firm's Strategic Factors Affecting Diffusion of Convergent Media - The Case of Global IPTV Services (융합미디어 확산에 영향을 주는 산업, 기업전략 요소에 관한 연구 - 해외 IPTV 실증분석)

  • The study aims to explore industrial and firms' strategic factors affecting diffusion of digital convergence by studying major global IPTV markets. Market and firm variables are selected using the Industrial Organization's SCP approach. Data for the variables are collected from global 31 IPTV operators representing 20 countries. The analysis indicates that the penetration of broadband Internet and the market share of a dominant player in the Pay TV positively affect the penetration of the IPTV service, whereas the penetration of Pay TV, ARPU, firms' strategy and resource do not have influence on its penetration. The study is the cross-country analysis and contributes to the media study by exploring the relationship between market variables and the development of convergent media. Consequently, the study is expected to help policy makers tailor their digital policy for local environment.

  • This study analyzed the long term relationship between the K-REITs' lending rate and interest rate variables based on ARDL (autoregressive distributed lag) and also examined the short term relationship based on the ARDL-ECM model. In the results of the empirical test, there is a co-integration relationship among the K-REITs' lending rate, 3 year government bond (rate), 3 year government bond (rate), corporation bond (rate) (AA-, 3year) and general fund loan rate. This means that the K-REITs' lending rate is related to the long term interest rate. The corporate general fund loan rate has a significant correlation with the K-REITs' lending rate in the long term relation and short term adjustment process. The establishment of a management plan by the REITs considering the trends in the corporate general fund loan rate in the decision making process for finance sector borrowings can be practically helpful for the K-REITs.

  • Recently, TPS is one of the hot issues which enterprises and manufacturing related people were greatly concerned. TPS is very representative of Japanese production system. And TPS have contributed to the advance of industrial engineering. This study highlights the limitation and unsolved problems of presented TPS, through understanding the basic principles and characteristics and application process of TPS. To be continuously developing and competitive system in the future, we suggest New JIT System to complement current TPS system. New JIT is a customer oriented system. For the customer satisfied quality management, renovate business process in production, development and sales area. It has hardware and software system. Hardware system is consists of TMS, TDS, TPS. Software system Is scientific SQC utilized TQM. For the advanced next generation manufacturing management system, we should develop New JIT system.

  • Quality is the core competence for customer satisfaction in current competitive business environments. The manufacturing companies regard the quality as the success factor in enhancing competitiveness and foremost concept of the management innovation. But in many cases, the basis for the quality management and the action programs are not prepared yet. In construction industry, normally schedule and cost have priority over quality and the level of overall quality is relatively lower than other industries. This is caused by the vague quality goal and result-oriented management. This study suggests the quality performance indicators for measuring performance objectively, and develops the continuous quality monitoring system based on those indicators. By using this system, the quality improvement can be expected and corporate quality competitiveness can be ensured.

  • The digital transformation of the 4th industrial revolution is leading to changes and innovations in the global economy. Various countries are focusing on reviving their manufacturing industries and economic recovery through smart factories. The purpose of this study is to empirically identify technological determinants for the successful implementation of the smart factory and to verify teose effects on manufacturing operations and the firms' operational/environmental performances. Five factors, including sensor network, platform technology, information system, intelligent automation, and safety, were defined as core technologies. The SEM analysis results of 157 small and medium-sized manufacturing firms that have implemented smart factories are as follows. First, sensor network, platform technology, and information system had significant effects on smart manufacturing operations. Second, smart manufacturing operations have improved firm performance. This study is valuable in that it has confirmed the effectiveness of government-funded projects and systemized key technologies for implementing smart factories. Meanwhile, it is helpful for practitioners to support an efficient and effective decision-making for the new adoption.

Bankruptcy Prediction using Fuzzy Neural Networks (퍼지신경망을 이용한 기업부도예측)

  • This study proposes bankruptcy prediction model using fuzzy neural networks. Neural networks offer preeminent learning ability but they are often confronted with the inconsistent and unpredictable performance for noisy financial data. The existence of continuous data and large amounts of records may pose a challenging task to explicit concepts extraction from the raw data due to the huge data space determined by continuous input variables. The attempt to solve this problem is to transform each input variable in a way which may make it easier fur neural network to develop a predictive relationship. One of the methods selected for this is to map each continuous input variable to a series of overlapping fuzzy sets. Appropriately transforming each of the inputs into overlapping fuzzy membership sets provides an isomorphic mapping of the data to properly constructed membership values, and as such, no information is lost. In addition, it is easier far neural network to identify and model high-order interactions when the data is transformed in this way. Experimental results show that fuzzy neural network outperforms conventional neural network for the prediction of corporate bankruptcy.
