Further Analyses on the Contemporary Changes of Profitability for the Firms Belonging to the Chaebol in the Republic of Korea (한국 재벌기업들의 수익성 결정요인에 대한 추세적 심층분석)

  • This study addresses an empirical issue which has been received little attention in the contemporary finance literature: To identify any financial determinants of the profitability indices for the firms belonging to the Korean chaebol. Three hypotheses of concern were postulated and tested for the sample firms covering the periods of the pre-and post-financial global crises. Regarding the results on the 1st hypothesis test of characterizing any financial profiles for the firms (belonging to the chaebols) by estimating a legitimate panel data model: the present study found the statistically significant relationships of the explanatory variables (BVLEVl, MVLEVl, MV/BV, RISK, FCFF and FOS) with the book-value based profitability ratio: while the market-valued profitability index was explained only by BVLEV2. Regarding the 2nd hypothesis test for the profitability of the sample firms at the industry level: the chaebol firms in the chemical and the food industries overall positioned themselves into the top ranks in order, which was tested by the ANCOVA and the Tukey multiple comparison procedure. Finally: on the 3rd hypothesis test for the 'adjusted' Dupont system, only two such as the 'operating margin' and the 'asset turnover' showed their significant effects between the chaebol firms and their counterparts in both the (parametric) independent samples t-test and the (nonparametric) Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney statistics.

  • This study identifies perceived importance and relative education necessity of entrepreneurship education program of university students. This research examine the major 5 factors of invention education program and identified the improvement of relative invention education program relation to entrepreneurship process. The sample survey of this research are 125 university student respondents and 5 invention entrepreneurs are participated. Research methods used means, percentile, frequency and factor analysis. Major findings are as follows; the selected course category of factor analysis categorized the understanding of invention concept, invention and management, invention and creativity, invention and patent and invention exercise. The mean value of perceived importance that invention and management, invention exercise, invention and creativity, invention concept and invention and patent are in order. But the perception of invention entrepreneurs to patent, management, creativity, invention exercise and invention concepts are in order. And the sub invention program's necessity degree relation to 'management and exercise' are higher than others. This study suggested that invention education program reinforcing the invention management and student takes interesting patent contents which accepted exercise program with easy.

  • This paper researches the value of domestic telecommunication bundle products. Customers evaluate each telecommunication products differently according to their attributes. The attributes affecting the customer value of telecommunication bundling can be categorized in 3 ones as follows; corporate image, service feature, and service price. Also authors analyze the difference of importancy that customers consider when they evaluate each products, and propose the optimal scenario for bundling. In conclusion, other two companies A, C excluding B should invest more resources into the portion that strengthen the attributes of company image, and service feature to upgrade their 'corporate image', and 'service feature'. According to 6-scenarios analysis on the bundle products, the QPS expansion of company A was the most advantageous position, but if companies B, C expand DPS made use of their strengths, they can prevent from decreasing additivity rapidly with sequential scenario. The above results show that one company may have equable power in each area, but if another company having strengths in special areas makes up for its weakness and differentiates gradually it can contribute to strengthen its competitiveness. This contributed much more theoretical and practical than the existing researches. Supposing that additivity index evaluated by consumers can be changed by efforts of companies, this scenario planning is the result of study showing that the investment and publicity of each company have to be considered as its characteristic of each product at the same time.

The Effects of University Entrepreneurship Education on Innovation Behavior: Focusing on Moderating Effect of Team-Based Learning (대학의 기업가정신교육이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향: 팀기반학습의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • University learning for innovation places great importance on maximizing the creation of new opportunities. In other words, universities are carrying out a new meaning that entrepreneurship education should enable students to discover potential opportunities and play an important role in the development of new society and industry. However, current entrepreneurship education programs are being developed and are being developed from diverse perspectives on rapidly changing environments. However, there is a growing awareness of the necessity of developing more professional and systematic entrepreneurship education programs, and it is argued that the emphasis on necessity is not enough have. This study empirically analyzed the cognitive abilities that influence innovative behavior to create and realize innovative ideas and the usefulness of team-based learning that influences these factors. The results of empirical research showed that self-directed learning ability and problem solving ability had a positive effect on innovation behavior and problem solving ability had a positive effect on innovation behavior as a part of self-directed learning ability. Team-based learning in entrepreneurship education has been shown to be beneficial as a moderating effect on the relationship between problem-solving ability and self-directed learning ability and innovation behavior. In the case of four factors of team-based learning, Respectively. This study suggests the effectiveness and application of team-based learning method in entrepreneurship education.

Multi-Level Analysis on the Influence of Core Employment Policies on the Team Leader's the Perceived Internal Process Organizational Competency and Job Satisfaction - Moderation Effect of Corporate Entrepreneurship - (인재우대 정책이 팀장의 인지된 조직 내부프로세스 역량과 직무만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 다수준 분석 - 사내기업가 정신의 조절효과 중심으로 -)

  • Companies have recently become increasingly interested in corporate entrepreneurship to establish a core employment policy in order to secure and maintain core employees and to foster an innovation-oriented organizational culture. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the causal relationship between core employment policies and the team leader's the perceived internal process organizational competency and job satisfaction, and to investigate whether corporate entrepreneurship has a moderation effect. Non-financial service industries including ICT companies were subject of the study and human capital corporate panel(HCCP) was utilized. The samples were 367 team leaders from 79 domestic companies. This study also applied Multi-Level Analysis(HLM), which simultaneously analyzes variables at both the individual level and the organizational level in order to improve the accuracy of the study. According to the result of the study analysis, core employment policies have a positive(+) impact on the perceived internal process organizational competency and job satisfaction. In addition, the moderation effect of corporate entrepreneurship was verified during the process when core employment policies influence the two outcome variables. corporate entrepreneurship was found to have a moderation effect that strengthens the influence on job satisfaction, but the moderation effect on the perceived internal process organizational competency was not statistically significant. These results confirm that organizational cultural factors such as corporate entrepreneurship are important influence variables in the process of influencing individual-level variables such as core employment policies. Academically, It suggests that in order to enhance the effectiveness of company strategies in respect of human resource management such as core employment policies, it is important to foster a cultural environment that suits the industry and characteristics of the organization. In addition, it suggested that companies in need of new innovation need to utilize corporate entrepreneurship.

  • The proliferation of GVC(Global Value Chain) requires the changes of paradigm on national industrial strategy and trade. It also provides multiple implications on business strategy. The business itself is the main agent which recognizes environmental change and establishes counterstrategy. This study is based on the necessity of support for small-medium sized companies in governmental level, since they are personally and materially vulnerable. This study is emphasize on deriving matching tasks of supporting globalization of companies at governmental level. The spread of GVC requires policy makers' comprehensive view and inspires us that we should focus and provide strategic supports on not only manufacturing business but also high valued service industry as well. The government should provide supporting policies for expansion of globalization of companies. The proliferation of GVC means to enter into the chain which creates high values. This is exactly the same as the paradigm of creative economy which our government pursues constantly.

최근 미국의 IT 인력의 고용현황과 정책

  • 최근 IT 산업전체의 고용(인력수급) 상황을 보면, 2000년 이후 2003년도까지 전세계적인 경기침체에 따라 다른 어떤 해보다도 이직률이 매우 높았다. 특히 IT 인적자원의 수요와 공급으로 그 특징을 살펴보면, 2002년초 메타그룹이 실시한 조사에서 세계의 IT 기업들이 인적자원을 확충할 것인지 줄일 것인지에 때한 조사를 실시한 결과 47.6%가 10-15%의 인원을 감축할 것이라고 응답했다. 이 결과가 주는 의미는 향후 IT 인력의 수요와 공급의 변화를 예측하게 한다.

The Effect of Political Connections of Chinese Firms on CSR Activities: The Mediating Effect of Government Subsidies (중국 상장기업의 정치적 연계가 CSR 활동에 미치는 영향: 정부 보조금의 매개효과)

  • This study examines the impact of political connections of Chinese listed firms on CSR(Corporate Social Responsibilities) activities. Firms recognize the political connections as 'non-market strategy' and actively utilize various benefits obtained through them for management activities. In order to utilize these political connections, there is a need for firms to implicitly perform the government's social policy obligations in return for their benefits. In particular, CSR activities in China are one of the government-led social policies unlike in the West, and the government wants firms to solve social problems through active CSR activities. In this background, this study empirically verifies whether firms with political connections are actively carrying out CSR activities required by the government from 2013 to 2019. As a result, Chinese listed firms with political connections have a positive effect on CSR activities. Especially, those with political connections with central government carry out both government benefits and social policy obligations.

  • 글로벌 물시장의 년 평균 성장률이 5~6%가 되어 향후 2025년에는 1조 $ 규모로 성장할 것이란 전망이다(GWI, 2014). 이에 선진 국가를 비롯 글로벌 기업들은 물시장의 선점을 위하여 경주한지 오래이며, 국내 시장에서는 2000년을 기점으로 보다 적극적인 물산업 육성 정책 제시와 함께 많은 물기업들이 해외시장 진출을 위해 경주하고 있다. 하지만 해외 시장은 국내 시장과 달리 많은 리스크가 공존, 물산업 육성정책이 발표되지 10여 년 이상 경과하였음에도 주목할 만한 성과를 일궈낸 기업을 찾아보기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 물기업의 해외 투자 사업 사례, 특히 프로젝트 계약을 중심으로 해외투자사업 관련 리스크가 어떻게 분류되며, 이에 대한 대응 방안이 무엇인지에 관하여 살펴보고자 한다.

  • Grayware 는 정상적인 소프트웨어와 달리 사용자의 동의가 없거나, 사용자가 인지하지 못하는상태에 설치되어 개인이나 기업의 특정정보를 수집하여 외부에 유출시키는 소프트웨어이다. 최근에는 Grayware 가 지능적인 수법의 Crimeware 로 변질되어 감에 따라, 순기능보다 역기능이 증가하고 있으며, 그 중 개인정보 및 기업의 중요 데이터 유출의 심각성이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 이용하여 Multi-Factor 인증과 Anti-Grayware System(이하 Anti-G/W System)을 이용한 Grayware 역기능 최소화 방안을 제안한다.
