Histogram Recorder System에 의한 측정예

  • 차량, 항공, 교량 및 기계구조물 등 랜덤한 실동하중을 받는 구조물의 응력 및 변위, 진동등의 피로 Data 또는 TRAFFIC 등에 의한 건축물의 변위 및 응력발생빈도를 집록하기 위한 Histogram Recorder System에 대한 내용과 측정예를 소개하고자 한다. 본 System은 8(4)챈 널의 스트레인 게이지 또는 스트레인 게이지식 각종변환기와 각종 Sensor로부터의 출력전압 등 Analog 입력을 수록하여, Digital 처리하여 micro computer를 사용, 미리 프로그램된 방식에 따라 측정과 동시에 실동시간으로 해석처리하여 빈도수로서 내부에 기억저장 시키는 것이다. 따라서 본 Histogtram Recorder 본체는 소형으로 견고하며 조금도 제어부분을 갖지 않고 소요의 해석방법의 프로그램백만을 셋트한 개별의 제어기만을 통해가지고 프로그램을 기입만 하며는 그다음은 손하나 안대고도, 그리고도 또 측정중에 제3자에 의한 제어조작 잘못이 발생할 위험도 없고 1 년이상에 걸친 장기간의 .+-. 32 Slices의 각 레벨당 각각 40 억을 넘는 대량의 빈도수를 자동적으로 집록 할 수가 있다. 집록된 Data는 제어장치에 의해 정리된 Datam는 제어장치에 의해 정리된 Histogram의 형태로 읽어나갈 수가 있어 관찰이 가능할 뿐만 아니라 프린터기록 또는 기록장치에 이송시켜서 Data 만 따로 가져올 수가 있어 필요에 따라서는 one line으로 Host computer에 접속시킬 수가 있어 더욱 고도의 처리를 할 수가 있다. 빈도해석프로그램으로서는 극대, 극소, 최대, 최소, 진폭, 시간 등을 pack으로서 준비되어 있어 이에 대한 시스템의 고성 동작 및 성능등을 소개하고자 한다.

  • In recent days low cost, high performance microprocessors have led to construction of medium scale shared memory multiprocessor systems with shared bus. Such multiprocessor systems are heavily influenced by the structures of memory systems and memory systems become more important factor in design space as microprocessors are getting faster. Even though local cache memories are very common for such systems, the latency on access to the shared memory limits throughput and scalability. There have been many researches on the memory structure for multiprocessor systems. In this paper, an asynchronous memory architecture is proposed to utilize the bandwith of system bus effectively as well as to provide flexibility of implementation. The effect of the proposed architecture if shown by simulation. We choose, as our model of the shared bus is HiPi+Bus which is designed by ETRI to meet the requirements of the High-Speed Midrange Computer System. The simulation is done by using Verilog hardware decription language. With this simulation, it is explored that the proposed asynchronous memory architecture keeps the utilization of system bus low enough to provide better throughput and scalibility. The implementation trade-offs are also described in this paper. The asynchronous memory is implemented and tested under the prototype testing environment by using test program. This intensive test has validated the operation of the proposed architecture.

A Scheme for Secure Storage and Retrieval of (ID, Password) Pairs Using Smart Cards as Secure and Portable Storages (안전한 휴대 저장장치로서의 스마트카드를 활용한 (ID, 패스워드) 쌍들의 안전한 저장 및 검색 기법)

  • Despite the security weakness of reusing passwords, many Internet users are likely to use a single ID and password on various sites to avoid the inconvenience of remembering multiple credentials. This paper proposes a scheme for securely storing, retrieving, and updating randomly chosen (ID, password) pairs by using smart cards as secure and portable storages. The scheme makes a user free from remembering her (ID, password) pairs for Internet accesses. By splitting and scattering the (ID, password) pairs of a user across the user's smart card memory and a remote server's storage, it can protect the logon credentials even from the theft or loss of the smart card. Also, a user, if deemed necessary, can issue and let the server to delete all information belonging to the user. Hence even an attacker who cracked the smart card memory would not be able to obtain any (ID, password) pair of the victim thereafter. The scheme requires a user to input a site information and pass-phrase to her smart card to obtain the logon credentials, but it should be an acceptable overhead considering the benefits of not remembering the freely chosen (ID, password) pairs at all.

Development of Portable Memory Type Radiation Alarm Monitor (휴대용 메모리형 방사선 경보장치 개발)

  • A Radiation Alarm Monitor has been developed and manufactured in order to protect radiation workers from over-exposure. A visual and audible alarm system has been attached to initiate evacuation when accident occurs such as an unexpected change of radiation level or an over-exposure. The Radiation Alarm Monitor installed with microprocessor can record the information of radiation field change between 90 min. before the alarm and 30 min. after the alarm and also provide the data to an IBM compatible computer to analyze the accidents and to set a counterplan. It features a wide detection range of radiation field(10 mR/h-100 R/h), radiation field data storage, portability, high precision (${\pm}5%$) due to self-calibration function, and adaption of a powerful alarm system. According to ANSI N42.17A, the most stringent test standards, performance tests were carried out under various conditions of temperature, humidity, vibration, and electromagnetic wave hindrance at Korea Research Institute of Standards & Science (KRISS). As a result, the Radiation Alarm Monitor passed all tests.

  • Records are the social memory storage including collective memory about region, it is impossible to put into and represent all aspects of society with only public records. Japan showed the possibilities of cooperative collecting and the positive records producing and collecting efforts between organizations, even if it was not accomplished by systemic documentation strategy. Some characteristics were found out when this case was reviewed, it is as follows. To begin with, it is the cooperation and share in collecting. Especially, the activities of private organizations look better than public organizations and the cooperative collecting efforts lead to transmit much more social memory and historical records to next generation. Secondly, it is the positive records producing and collecting. The private organizations also left many records of various activities of those one accord. They recognized that recording experience and leaving behind is the survivors' responsibility. We cannot help recognizing the growth of a sense of duty and historical consciousness to record their own experience with undergoing big disaster, earthquake. Thirdly, there was no limit when it comes to the collecting scope. All records related with people and place in disaster area were the target for collecting just like slogan, 'Let's transmit records to next generation as much as possible', 'Common records and resources deserve leaving, because it is important life's information proving situations of the time. We were able to confirm the high will and enthusiasm about 'how, what and why do we transmit something of society to next generation' in this case.

A Study on the Disruptive Technology of Secondary Memory Unit: Focus on the HDD vs SSD Case (보조기억장치의 와해성 기술 사례에 관한 연구: HDD 대 SSD 사례를 중심으로)

  • Due to a lack of research regarding disruptive technologies in domestic research, the purpose of this study is to aid in the understanding of disruptive technologies through empirical analysis of cases selected in the computer data storage industry. Analysis results have shown that SSDs, which threaten the existence of HDDs, adhere to the conditions of being a disruptive technology as first presented by Christensen(1992). SSDs are not only technologically superior to HDDs but can be mass produced due to its applicability in a vast array of product categories made possible by their miniaturization, weight reduction, and safety. This diversity of applicable fields makes it possible for mass production leading to further decrease in the unit price ultimately continuing the diffusion of this technology. By presenting empirical cases to aid in the understanding of disruptive technology, it is determined that the findings of this study contribute greatly to both academia and the business world.

퍼스날 컴퓨터용 수문데이타베이스(PCHISS)의 개발

  • 수자원 관련 연구 및 설계는 대부분 수문자료의 분석으로보터 출발하며, 따라서 수문자료의 효율적 관리 및 제공시스템의 필요성이 강조되어 왔다. 또한 설계회사 또는 학계, 연구소 등에서 수문자료의 분석시 퍼스날 컴퓨터를 이용하는 경우가 상당히 많으며, 단위 프로젝트에 필요한 비교적 적은 양 - 예를 들어 전국 중 특정 수계만을 대상으로 하는 경우 - 의 수문자료는 퍼스날 컴퓨터로도 처리가 가능하므로, 프로젝트 단위 수문자료의 검색, 출력 및 기본적 분석기능을 제공하는 퍼스날 컴퓨터용 수문데이타베이스의 개발 필요성이 제기되었다. PCHISS(Personal Computer Hydrological Information Support System)는 이러한 필요성에 의해 폭넓게 보급, 사용되고 있는 퍼스날 컴퓨터 - MS-DOS로 운영되는 IBM 호환 16비트 AT 또는 XT - 를 대상으로 상기한 수문자료의 검색, 출력 및 기본적 분석기능과 관측소 정보의 출력기능을 제공하도록 개발되었다. 개발에 사용된 언어는 C언어이며, C언어 프로그램에 의해 색인화된 자료처리기능을 제공하는 C-ISAM(C-Indexed Sequential Access Method)이라는 라이브러리를 사용하였다. 개발된 수문데이타베이스는 반복되는 수문자료의 검색, 출력 및 분석업무의 효율성 제고를 기할 수 있으며, 퍼스날 컴퓨터 및 보조기억장치를 포함한 주변장치의 성능이 계속 향상되고, 반면 가격은 상대적으로 낮추어지고 있으므로 프로젝트 단위의 수문자료관리시스템의 역할을 충분히 수행할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Design and Evaluation of Data Input/output for Video Conference System (화상회의 시스템에서의 데이터 입출력 설계 및 평가)

  • In this paper, we propose the method in which multimedia data simultaneously transfers to the main memory and the multimedia processor from the network interface card to improve bottleneck of system bus through analysis for architecture of video conference system and input/output model. The proposed method can reduce the number of system bus accesses, bus cycles, data transmission time and compression ratio of video data in the video conference system. We compared the performance between the proposed method and the conventional methods in the multi-party video conference systems. The simulation results showed that the proposed method was reduced the transmission time of multimedia data than the conventional method.

  • 플래시 메모리는 휴대폰과 PDA 와 같은 이동 기기에서 저장 장치로 널리 사용되고 있다. 또한 기가바이트(GB) 단위의 대용량화로 인해 노트북과 개인용 컴퓨터에서 보조기억장치로 사용되고 있다. 요즘에는 대용량의 데이터를 효율적으로 다루기 위한 B+트리와 같은 자료구조를 플래시 메모리상에서 저비용의로 구현하려는 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 지금까지의 연구에서는 플래시 메모리에서 B+트리를 구축할 때 노드 크기를 플래시 메모리의 섹터(sector) 크기로 사용해왔다. 본 논문에서는 노드 크기가 플래시 메모리의 섹터 크기보다 더 커졌을 경우, 플래시 메모리에서 구현되는 B+트리의 구축성능과 검색성능 그리고 저장 공간 사용량을 비교 분석한다. 키 삽입 시 정렬 알고리즘과 비정렬 알고리즘을 각각 사용해 구축비용을 측정하였으며 효율적인 노드 검색을 위해 인덱스 노드 헤드 구조를 사용한다. 그리고 이러한 실험결과는 B+트리 노드 크기를 섹터 크기보다 블록 크기로 할당할 때 B+트리 성능의 우수성을 보인다.

  • POWER PC series are common to the Central Processing Unit for Military Single Board Computer. Among them, G4 group, which contains the 74xx series supported by Freescale manufacturer is mainly used in the Military applications. We focus on the Interface between memory and controller. PCB stacking method, component routing, impedance matching and harsh environment for Military spec are the main constraints for implementation. Also, we developed memory as a module for the consideration of Military environments. The overall type of SBC should be designed by the form of 6U VME or 3U VME.
