  • The study was to examine the mediating effect of self-efficacy in learning in the relationship between the learning satisfaction and motivation to transfer of nursing students who received the psychiatric nursing convergence simulation practicum using standardized patients. Participants were 144 third grade nursing students. Data were analyzed descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression following the Baron and Kenny's method and Sobel test for mediation. There were significant correlations between learning satisfaction and self-efficacy in learning(r=.686, p<.001), learning satisfaction and motivation to transfer(r=.633, p<.001) and self-efficacy in learning and motivation to transfer(r=.804, p<.001). Self-efficacy in learning showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between learning satisfaction and motivation to transfer(Z=7.63, p<.001). To increase the motivation to transfer, strategies to enhance the self-efficacy of nursing students are required.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship among the variables and the influence of academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition on the problem solving ability of nursing students. A descriptive research design was employed in this study. The participants were 404 sophomore nursing students in D city, who were surveyed between May 2 and May 20, 2016, using self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 21.0 using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Significant correlations among the academic self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition, and problem solving ability were found. In academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition, there were significant differences in gender, academic credit, interpersonal relationship, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. The problem solving ability showed statistically significant differences in academic credit, interpersonal relationships, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. The regression model explained 51.7% of the effect on the problem solving ability. Academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition were factors influencing the problem solving ability of nursing students. Based on these results, to increase problem solving ability of nursing students, it will be necessary to develop an educational program and strategy for improving the academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors having an influence on adjusting to the university life of freshmen and sophomore nursing students. The data was collected from questionnaires that were filled out by 150 nursing students in one school from November 1, 2018 to November 20, 2018. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 22.0 program (frequency, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis). The mean score of university life adjustment was $75.85{\pm}9.43$ (range: 25~125). A negative correlation was found between adjustment to university life and stress, A positive correlation was found between adjusting to university life and self efficacy. Negative correlation was found between stress and self efficacy. The factors influencing the adjustment of freshmen and sophomore nursing students to university life were health promoting behavior (sleeping time, snacks, drinking, and leisure time or having a hobby), stress and self efficacy. In addition, health promoting behaviors, stress and self efficacy accounted for 13.9% of the variance in adjusting to university life. The results of this study suggest that health promoting behavior, stress and self efficacy are important to the adjustment to university life for freshmen and sophomore nursing students. Further research on improving health promoting behavior, reducing stress and improving self efficacy is warranted. An intervention program that includes these significant variables of such subjects should be developed to improve adjusting to the university life of nursing students.

However, compared to its importance, related studies about this topic are rare, especially in Korea. Therefore, this study, for empirical analysis, included resilience to the research model expanding existing research. The purpose of this study is to identify the direct effects of perceived norms of young entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience on entrepreneurial intentions, and to identify the mediated effects between perceived norm, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. The data used in this research were collected through questionnaires from 443 potential young entrepreneurs. Our experimental result show that social norm and entrepreneurial self-efficacy were positively related to entrepreneurial resilience. Moreover, personal norm, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial resilience were statistically significant on intention of entrepreneurial. As a result of the indirect effect, entrepreneurial resilience mediates the relationship between social norms, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. Finally, this research has significant meaning because it shows the importance of entrepreneurial resilience to entrepreneurial intention of young entrepreneurs. However, the limitation of this study relates to the restriction of sample in certain regions and universities.

  • This study was attempted to establish a model to investigate the relationship between career decision self-efficacy, department satisfaction, and job preparing stress of college students and to investigate the relationship between these factors. The subjects of this study were 355 college students aged 18 years or older in G-do, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0/AMOS 24.0 program. The fit index of the structural regression model met the acceptance criteria (χ2/df=2.89, SRMR=.04, RMSEA=.07, CFI=.96, TLI=.95). As a result of the study, first, it was found that career decision self-efficacy and department satisfaction directly affect job stress. Second, career decision self-efficacy was found to directly affect department satisfaction. Third, career decision self-efficacy was found to have an indirect effect on job stress through department satisfaction. Of the two variables influencing job stress, department satisfaction was found to have a greater relative influence on job preparing stress. Based on these research results, it is necessary to develop a strategy to increase career decision self-efficacy and department satisfaction, which has been found to affect job stress in order to reduce job preparing stress of college students.

  • We attempted to identify the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between health perception, social support, and health promotion behaviors among university students and to provide basic data to improve health promotion behaviors. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from a sample of 173 university students in City C. Health promotion behaviors according to general characteristics were found to have statistically significant differences in gender(t=3.892, p<.001) and major satisfaction(F=5.867, p=.003) .There was no statistically significant difference in age, grade, major field, hospitalization or surgery experience in the last three years, and economic activity. Health promotion behavior was positively correlated with health perception (r=.439, p<.001), social support (r=.532, p<.001), and self-efficacy (r=.533, p<.001) and was statistically significant. It was found that self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect (Z=3.964, p<.001) on the effect of health perception on health promotion behavior, and self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect (Z=4.24, p<.001) on the effect of social support on health promotion behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the factors affecting health support, social support, and self-efficacy among college students and prepare intervention measures to improve health promotion behavior.

  • This study aimed to investigate the impact of arthritis self-management education on changes in arthritis-related knowledge levels and arthritis-specific self-efficacy among elderly individuals at a senior center. This study was conducted with one group pre-test and post-test design. The participants included 48 elderly individuals who utilized four senior centers, and they received arthritis self-management education for three weeks. Data analysis used a paired t-test to compare the effects before and after education. The results of the study showed that arthritis self-management education significantly increased arthritis-related knowledge (t=9.17, p<0.001) and arthritis-specific self-efficacy (t=3.96, p<0.001). There were significant differences in knowledge and self-efficacy levels by age group, with the results varying among participants aged 85 and above. These findings suggest that a three-week education program is appropriate for improving arthritis-related knowledge and self-efficacy among the elderly, and that education should be tailored to different age groups.
