A Study on the Improvement Plan for the Establishing an Advanced Aviation Security System in Korea (첨단 항공보안체계 국내 도입을 위한 개선방안 연구)

  • The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has set up the Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP), which urges member states to transition to more advanced security systems. This paper examines advanced aviation security policies and technologies at both domestic and international levels, and also investigates the underlying reasons for the challenges faced in establishing an advanced security system in the Republic of Korea. Based on this analysis, we propose effective strategies for deploying advanced security equipment at domestic airports, taking into consideration their respective classifications. Additionally, we identify the need for establishing new technological standards to introduce an advanced aviation security system, and provide evaluation criteria for the maintenance and management of technology to ensure the smooth operation of advanced security equipment.

  • Safety-Critical systems, such as Plant Protection Systems in nuclear power plant, plays a key role that the facilities can be operated without undue risk to the health and safety of public and environment, and those systems shall be designed, fabricated, installed, and tested to quality standards commensurate with the importance of the functions to be performed. Computer-based Instrumentation and Control Systems to perform the safety-critical function have Real Time Operating Systems to control and monitoring the sub-system and executing the application software. The safety-critical Real Time Operating Systems shall be designed, analyzed, tested and evaluated to have capability to maintain a high integrity and quality. However, local nuclear power plants have applied the real time operating systems on safety critical systems through Commercial Grade Item Dedication method, and this is the reason of lack of detailed methodology on assessing the safety of real time operating systems, expecially to the new developed one. This paper presents the methodology and experiences of safety evaluation on safety-critical Real Time Operating Systems based upon design requirements. This paper may useful to develop and evaluate the safety-critical Real Time Operating Systems in other industry to ensure the safety of public and environment.

Marine Environmental Characteristics around the Test Phase of Offshore Wind Farm in the Southwestern Coast of Yellow Sea (서남해 해상풍력 실증단지 해역의 해양 환경 특성)

  • This study aims to present the characteristics of marine physics, water quality, and sediment quality around offshore wind farm near the Gochang and Buan sea areas through the analysis of monitoring data. The relationships between suspended solid and wave height as well as suspended solid and flow velocity were analyzed. We found that Correlation Coefficient values of 0.61~0.69 between wave height and suspended solid, and suspended solid concentration reaches 75 mg/L or higher when wave height of more than 1m occurred in the spring (1 month). The water quality index (WQI) was used to identify the status of the water quality in the study area. Most of the measured points were rated first grade (very good). The variation of chlorophyll-a was relatively hight compared to the other criteria, indicating that it is a major factor affecting the quality index. In the sediment column, all heavy metals were detected below the Threshold Effects Level(TEL), and ignition loss and grain size show a positive correlation.

Collaborative Filtering based Recommender System using Restricted Boltzmann Machines

  • Recommender system is a must-have feature of e-commerce, since it provides customers with convenience in selecting products. Collaborative filtering is a widely-used and representative technique, where it gives recommendation lists of products preferred by other users or preferred by the current user in the past. Recently, researches on the recommendation system using deep learning artificial intelligence technologies are actively being conducted to achieve performance improvement. This study develops a collaborative filtering based recommender system using restricted Boltzmann machines of the deep learning technology by utilizing user ratings. Moreover, a learning parameter update algorithm is proposed for learning efficiency and performance. Performance evaluation of the proposed system is made through experimental analysis and comparison with conventional collaborative filtering methods. It is found that the proposed algorithm yields superior performance than the basic restricted Boltzmann machines.

  • 국립대구과학관 천체 관측 핵심시설인 1m 반사망원경을 개발하고 설치 완료하였다. 본 발표에서는 국립대구과학관 1m 망원경의 시스템 사양과 개발 및 설치과정을 전반적으로 기술하고 앞으로의 활용계획에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 이번에 도입된 주망원경은 지난 2014년 11월부터 광학계 및 마운트 설계를 시작으로 2016년 5월까지 약 1년 6개월의 개발기간을 거쳐 설치 완료되었다. 순수 국내기술로 개발된 주망원경은 주경 1,000mm(부경 300mm)의 유효구경을 가지며 후방초점거리가 700mm인 초점비 F/8의 리치-크레티앙 방식의 광학계로 설계되었다. 레이저 간섭계를 이용하여 거울면 전체의 형상 오차를 정밀하게 측정한 결과 주경면 PV < ${\lambda}/4$, RMS < ${\lambda}/20$, 부경면 PV < ${\lambda}/10$, RMS < ${\lambda}/50$의 형상 정밀도를 가진다. 포크형태의 경위대식 마운트 구조로 방위각, 고도 양축과 디로테이터에 각각 모터가 장착되어 움직이는 다이렉트 드라이브 방식으로 구동된다. 최대 구동속도는 $2^{\circ}/s$이상, 포인팅 정밀도는 2'이하, 10분간 추적 정밀도는 3"이하(10분간 오토가이더 추적 정밀도는 1"이하)의 구동 성능을 가진다. 제어용 컨트롤 시스템은 JTCS(Justek Telescope Control System)를 사용한다. 성능 평가를 위해 시험 관측된 10~13등급 사이 10개의 별들에 대한 FWHM 측정결과는 4~5" 범위에 있다. 앞으로 지속적인 성능 평가와 업그레이드를 통해 향후 정밀도를 높여 학술 연구용으로 공개할 예정이다. 이번 국립대구과학관 1m 주망원경의 도입으로 지역 천문교육 프로그램이 한 단계 더 도약할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

An Experimental Study on the FMEA Evaluation of Non-metallic Materials in High-Pressure Hydrogen Facility (고압 수소설비용 비금속부품 소재의 FMEA 평가를 통한 실험적 연구)

  • According to South Korea's policy of supplying eco-friendly hydrogen vehicles, related industries are actively conducting research on the development of hydrogen cars and hydrogen charging station infrastructure. On the other hand, there is a lack of empirical research and assessment of the risk of non-metallic materials (such as liners, seals, gaskets) for classified materials that directly affect the durability and reliability of hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen charging stations. In this study, the risk factors for liners and seals of non-metallic parts used in high-pressure hydrogen installations were derived using FMEA, and the RPN values were calculated by converting the severity, frequency of occurrence and degree of detection into scores. The maximum value of the RPN 600, minimum value 63, average value 278.5 was calculated and periodic control of the liner and seal was identified as important. In addition, through hydrogen soakage and oxygen aging tests for non-metallic rubber products, physical test values that can be used as basic data were presented.

  • 저수지에 대한 비상대처계획수립은 최근 기상이변 등에 따른 대규모 호우가 빈번히 발생하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 세계 도처에서 대규모 지진 등으로 많은 인명과 재산 피해가 속출함에 따라 지진 및 이상홍수에 대한 저수지의 안정성 평가를 수행하고 저수지 지점에서 발생할 수 있는 천재지변 또는 예상치 못한 대규모 재해에 효율적으로 대처하기 위한 비상상황의 등급 및 위험수준을 체계적으로 판단하고 비상상황 가상 시나리오별 체계적 행동요령 및 대처계획을 수립하여 저수지 붕괴에 따른 대규모 홍수피해 예상지역 주민들의 신속한 대응으로 생명과 재산피해를 최소화하는데 목적이 있다. 현행 한국농어촌공사 및 지자체에서 수립하고 있는 30만 톤 이상 저수지에 대한 1차원 모형 기반의 EAP수립은 침수구역을 산정할 때 수치지도에 의한 단일 침수심 분석으로 실제 침수구역과는 많은 오류가 나타난다. 이는 침수구역 부정확에 따른 피해복구액 산정이 과다로 책정될 수 있고, 마지막으로 가장 중요한 비상대처계획 수립에 막대한 영향을 미친다. 이에 본 연구는 댐 붕괴에 대응하기 위한 EAP 수립 시 기본이 되는 홍수범람해석을 수행하고 1차원 및 2차원 모형의 결과검토를 통해 보다 효과적인 비상대처계획의 수립을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경천저수지 유역을 대상으로 가능최대강수량 조건 하에서 가능최대홍수량을 산정하고 DAMBRK 모형을 이용하여 댐 붕괴 모의를 위한 시나리오 구성 및 모의를 수행하였다. 이후 댐 붕괴 모의결과를 이용하여 WMS(Watershed Modeling System) 모형을 이용한 1차원 홍수범람해석과 FLUMEN(FLUvial Modeling ENgine) 모형을 이용한 2차원 홍수범람해석에 적용 후 각 결과를 비교·검토하였다.

Social Network Comparison of Airlines on Twitter Using NodeXL (Twitter를 기반으로 한 항공사 소셜 네트워크 비교분석 - 카타르, 싱가포르, 에미레이트, ANA, 대한항공을 중심으로 -)

  • The study aims to compare and analyze the social network structures of Qatar Airways,s Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines, and ANA Airlines, recording the top 1 to 4, and Korean Air in ninth by Skytrax's airline evaluations in 2022. This study uses NodeXL, a social network analysis program, to analyze the social networks of 5 airlines, Vertex, Unique Edges, Single-Vertex Connected Components, Maximum Geodesic Distance, Average Geodesic Distance, Average Degree Centrality, Average Closeness Centrality, and Average Betweenness Centrality as indicators to compare the differences in these social networks of the airlines. As a result, Singapore's social network has a better network structure than the other airlines' social networks in terms of sharing information and transmitting resources. In addition, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines are superior to the other airlines in playing roles and powers of influencers who affect the flow of information and resources and the interaction within the airline's social network. The study suggests some implications to enhance the usefulness of social networks for marketing.

  • Many countries, especially ICT powers, are supporting IoT-based technology at a national level and this technology is actively being researched in the businesses and research institutes in an aim to develop technology and create an ecosystem. Roads in the Seoul city are building public facilities based on IoT to provide various services and conveniences for the users. However, for the full-fledged introduction and development of IoT, there are many cases where infringement on security and privacy and threat for life and safety happen. Also, as the IoT environment includes various environment technologies such as the existing sensor network, heterogeneous communication network, and devices optimized for the IoT environment, it inherits the existing security threat and various attack techniques. This paper researches the attribute based encryption technology for safe communication in the IoT environment. The data collected from the device is transmitted utilizing the attribute based encryption and by designing the key generation protocol, grades and authorities for the device and users are identified to transmit safe messages.

  • As the international-level concern has been focused on the environmental sustainability in recent years, many researches emphasized the needs for methods and techniques that would facilitate sustainability assessment at the various project level interfaces. As part of methods and techniques to facilitate sustainability assessment, this paper provides 'Computerized Waste Management Performance Evaluation Tool' for the purpose of assessing the level of management system in dealing with the onsite construction wastes. This tool applies twenty-three waste management performance factors for the purpose of evaluating the level of waste management performance by scoring those factors which were identified in the previous research. These twenty-three factors are classified into four categories: manpower, material, method, and management based on their characteristics. In order to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of waste management performance, the levels of actions executed in a site by each waste management performance factor were identified and their weight were analyzed throughout the expert interview and survey. Furthermore, an excel-based computerized tool was developed in order to facilitate the evaluation process. If this tool can be developed in more detail and be used as the method to control waste management at a project level for the future, it is expected that this tool can play an important role in the body of knowledge of environmental management in construction industry.
