  • According to the enlargement of production facilities and structures, the requirements of high-capacity load cells are increased for monitoring the process conditions in many fields. Generally, however, the accuracy of the column-type high-capacity load cells is not enough due to the geometric nonlinearity. It is supposed to result from the fact that the whole spring element is under high-level stress for the uniform strain field. In this paper, a new shape of spring element is developed which utilizes the stress concentration. As a design criterion, an object function which quantifies the degree of nonlinearity is defined and optimized by use of response surface modeling. As a result, the weight of the spring element is reduced shout 50% in comparison to the conventional shape. The bonding positions of stain gages are found. which show theoretically zero geometrical nonlinearity, while the ratio of overload protection is reduced from 130% to 125% Also it is shown that the response surface method is very efficient in the optimization approach by use of FEM.

기둥형 로드셀 감지부의 설계변수에 따른 비선형 거동해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Nonlinear Behavior of a Column Type Sensing Element for Load Cell According to Design Parameters)

  • Recently, force measurement systems are commonly used in many industrial fields and the precision of the measurement system is getting more important as the industry needs more precise tools and in struments to make high quality products. However, a high precision force measurement system is hard to make unless we know precisely the causes, quality and quantity of measurement errors in advance. In this work, many possible mechanical causes of measurement errors are reviewed including ratio of length to diameter of sensing part, radius of contact area, radius of bearing part, ratio of material properties and change of boundary conditions. Also, the measurement errors are analyzed by nonlinear finite element method and the nonlinear behavior of the errors are investigated. The results can be used to design force measurement systems and expected to be very useful especially for compact type load cells.

30 MN 스트레인 게이지 방식 힘 센서의 제작 및 특성 (Fabrication and Characteristics of 30 MN Strain Gage Type Force Sensor)

  • 힘 증강기법을 이용하여 10 MN 로드셀 3개로 30 MN 힘 센서를 설계 제작하였다. 로드셀은 스트레인 게이지방식으로서 기둥형 감지부로 설계되었으며 오차를 줄이기 위하여 온도보상회로등이 내장되어 있다. 특성실험 결과 제작된 힘 센서의 총오차는 0.1 %이내로 추정되어 4.5 MN 이상의 대용량 재료시험기의 교정 및 시험에 유용하게 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

기둥을 이용한 다축 힘/모멘트 감지 방법에 관한 연구 (Sensing method of multi-component forces and moments using a column structure)

  • The column-type sensing element in building and mechanical construction parts was designed as three forces and three moments sensor by attaching strain gages approximately. Compared to conventional multi-component sensor, the designed sensor can solve the problem about low stiffness and high cost. The radius of the column was designed analytically and compared with finite element analysis. The coupling errors between components were minimized by using addition and subtraction procedure of signals. The fabricated sensor was tested by using a deadweight force standard machine and a six-component force calibration machine in Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science(KRISS). The calibration showed that the multi-component force/moment sensor had coupling error less than 19.8 % between $F_x$ and $M_y$ components, and 9.0 % in case of other components.

대용량 Compact형 로드셀의 기둥형 감지부 설계 및 해석 (Design and Analysis of Column Type Sensing Element for Large Compact Load Cell)

  • The column type is used as the sensing element of the load cell to measure the large force in the range of 10$^4$~ 10$^{7}$ N. However. it is not easy to handle the load with large capacity due to its size. It is, therefore, necessary to design a compact load cell with a low aspect ratio. Thus this paper showed the characteristic evaluation of compact load cell with respect to the shape of supporting plate. The supporting plate of the load cell was an annular type with inner(D$_{i}$) and outer(D$_{o}$) diameters. Using the strain distribution obtained from FEM. the supporting plate was designed to get the stable output voltage of the load cell. The three designed supporting plates were manufactured, and the result of characteristic experiment of the load cell, using the 10 MN hydraulic force standard machine, was compared with FEM.M.M.

중력식 사방댐 후면에 설치된 원통형 대책구조물의 배치조건이 토석류의 충격하중에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Cylindrical Baffle Configuration Behind Rigid Barrier on Impact Load of Debris Flow)

  • 본 연구에서는 중력식 사방댐 후면에 설치된 원통형 강성기둥 구조물의 배치변화가 토석류의 흐름거동 및 충격하중 변화에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해, 대책구조물들을 소형수로에 모사한 다음 원통형 구조물의 종방향 배열 수와유로 차단비율을 변화시켜가면서 실내모형실험을 수행하였다. 실험과정에서 대책구조물의 주변 흐름거동을 촬영하고, 중력식 사방댐의 작용하는 토석류의 충격하중을 측정하기 위해, 수로 측면과 상부에는 고속카메라를 설치하였고, 사방댐의 전면에는 로드셀을 설치하였다. 게다가, 글라스 비즈를 이용하여 토석류에 의해 동반되는 큰 직경의 거석들을 수로에 모사하였다. 실험결과, 중력식 사방댐 후면에 원통형 강성기둥 구조물의 설치는 토석류의 충격하중을 크게 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 대책구조물의 유로 차단비율을 증가시키면 거석을 동반한 토석류의 흐름억제를 증가시켜 충격하중을 더욱 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다.
