An Experimental Study on the Effect of Malfunctioning of Drainage System on NATM Tunnel Linings (NATM 터널의 배수시스템 수리기능저하가 터널 라이닝에 미치는 영향)

  • One of the most sensitive design specifications to be considered is infiltration and external pore-water pressures on underground structure construction. Development of pore-water pressure may accelerate leakage and consequently cause deterioration of the lining. In this paper, the development of pore-water pressure due to malfunctioning of drainage system and its potential effect on the linings are investigated using physical model tests. The deterioration procedure was simulated by controlling both permeability and flow rate. Development of pore-water pressure was monitored on the lining using pore pressure measurement cells. Test results identified the mechanism of pore-water pressure development on the tunnel lining. In addition, they showed that controlling flow rate is more effective method fur simulating deterioration procedure than permeability control. The laboratory model tests were reproduced using coupled numerical method, and showed that the effect of deterioration of drainage system can be theoretically expected using coupled numerical modeling method.

Development of Stereoscopic image editing tool using Image-based Modeling (영상 기반 모델링 기법을 이용한 입체 영상 저작도구 개발)

  • 몰입도가 높은 가시화 기법 중 하나인 입체 영상은 차세대 미디어의 표준으로 최근 크게 주목 받고 있다. 그러나 일반 2차원 영상과는 달리 입체 영상은 3차원의 기하정보가 존재해야만 영상을 생성하는 것이 가능하다. 따라서 3차원의 기하정보가 존재하지 않는 2차원 영상을 이용한 입체 영상의 저작은 매우 어려운 문제이다. 본 논문은 영상 기반 모델링 기법을 활용하여 단안 영상으로부터 입체 영상을 생성하기 위한 입체 영상 저작 도구를 제안한다. 이를 위해 입력된 영상에서 사영 기하 정보를 사용하여 깊이 정보를 추론함으로써 3차원 환경을 구성하는 전역 깊이 정보 추출 방법과 영상 내에 존재하는 사물의 정확한 깊이 정보로 수정하기 위한 부분 깊이 정보 수정 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 추출한 깊이 정보로부터 몰입감이 높은 입체 영상의 시점을 결정하기 위한 대화식 입체 영상 미리 보기 기능을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 2차원 영상 저작 도구인 포토샵의 플러그인으로 구현함으로써 범용성을 높였다.

  • Recent technique has shown high interest in 3D stereoscopic image, one out of high immersion appearance techniques. Unlike general 2D image, 3D stereoscopic image is generated by 3D geometric information. Therefore, the lack of 3D geometric information sometimes imposes restrictions or makes editing more tedious. We propose a new unsupervised technique aimed to generate stereoscopic image which is estimated by depth-map information using image-based modeling from a single input image. The proposed system is implemented as the Adobe Photoshop(R) plug-in for considering generality and expandability, and also supports a preview function of interactive 3D stereoscopic image to determine stereoscopic view of high quality.

  • In this paper, we present an animation toolkit based on motion mapping technique in a graphics user interface that can represent data structures necessary for generating character motions. The motion mapping means that an animation sequence generated once can be mapped to another object directly according a data structure in the graphics user interface. Users can generate animation sequences interactively using a mouse. These are obtained automatically by modifying motion data structures interactively. Compared with other conventional tools, the toolkit has different features that two hierarchical structures necessary for representing modeling and animation data are managed independently each other, and that animations generated can be applied to any other characters by connecting the two hierarchical structures in the user interface.

  • 우리나라 항만 입출항 통항 선박의 대형화, 고속화에 따른 해양안전사고가 증가하고 있어 항만 연안 해역에서의 해상교통안전 확보가 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정으로, 최근 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서 항로표지 설계와 배치계획에 대한 의사결정을 지원할 수 있는 항로표지 전문 기능 시뮬레이터의 개발과 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계 및 계획 등을 검증할 수 있는 시스템 필요성을 제기하였다. 우리나라 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계와 적정 배치 여부 등을 검증하고 보완할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템에 대한 개발이 진행되고 있다. 항로표지 3D 모델에 대한 항로표지 종류별, 속성별 세부사항을 검토하여 다양한 조합이 가능하도록 DB를 구성하였다. 항로표지 3D 모델링 작업데이터에 대하여 각 항로표지 시설물별 조합 경우의 수를 고려하여 다양한 조합이 가능하도록 DB 분류작업을 수행하였으며 항로표지별 폴리건수에 따른 샘플형상을 비교하여 시인성이 양호한 최소한의 폴리건 수(안) 제시하는 등 항로표지 시뮬레이션을 위한 항로표지 3D 구현 방식을 검토하였다.

  • The electronic ballast have much more shaking of arc than magnetic ballast because of acoustic resonance phenomenon. but it has used mare than before. In this paper, we made metal halide lamp modeling by modifying modeling of mercury lamp. To avoid acoustic resonance phenomenon, We calculated acoustic resonance frequency band. We proposed design of LCC circuit. Also, electronic ballast simulator for metal halide lamp was developed by simulink LCC parameters of inverter was decided on the basis of simulation results. After development of prototype ballast, it was verified the characteristics of simulator.

  • We develop a method to simulate diverse actions for a virtual world consisting of numerous interrelated objects. We focus on how to efficiently model those countless actions rather realistic representation of each action. To this end, those actions are structured into hierarchies according to their characteristic parameters so actions can be efficiently added based on inheritance. The first key issue in this model is how to extract commonality among actions and identify their idiosyncrasy. The second issue is how to reify or substantiate inheritance of the actions. We apply the developed model to the walk actions of quadruped, and their simulated results are shown in articulated figures.

Structured Information Modeling and Query Method for SMIL Documents (SMIL 문서의 구조 정보 모델 및 검색)

  • The SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) documents are represented as logical structure information, spatial layout structure information, temporal synchronization structure information and hyperlink structure information, according as the structural characteristics of SMIL documents based on XML. This paper proposes the effective modeling and query method for the multi -structure information of inherent SMIL documents. In particular, we present the object-oriented modeling by using UML class diagram in order to represent the objects classes for the structured information of SMIL documents, and the hierarchical structure and the relationships for the objects classes. In addition, the objects classes definition is specified in compliance with SQL3 for database standard language. We also propose the access method and the query representation for hierarchical structure in order to retrieve efficiently the structural objects of SMIL documents.

  • Power management (PM) depends on the power state transition and system workload. The system model is composed of corresponding stochastic models of the power state and system queue. In this paper, stochastic models which can handle various PM techniques are developed. SRN (Stochastic Reward Nets), an extended Petri-Net, has facilities that represent system queue and various modelling functions. The SRN is employed for developing PM models. An adaptive timeout PM model is also introduced and the power consumption and performance of this model are compared with other existing PM techniques models such as greedy and N-Policy techniques.

  • In this paper, we have studied modelling and simulation of computer communication protocols theoretically. After describing a definition and functions of communication protocols, we have classified models for protocol design. And, in those protocol models, by endowing Timed Petri Net (TPN) models with a time function .tau., we have proposed a structural definition of TPN models. Furthermore, in order to complement Petri Net Based models with some problems, we have introduced the Discrete EVent system Specification (DEVS) concept in system simulation field. As an important result of our study, we have presented a theorem, which says that a TPN model becomes a DEVS model, and proved it. According to the theorem, we can perform efficient simulation by using the DEVS model transformed from a TPN model when we intend the TPN model to be simulated, otherwise we design another simulation model for it.
