A hypernetwork is a generalized hypo-graph and a probabilistic graphical model based on evolutionary learning. Hypernetwork models have been applied to various domains including pattern recognition and bioinformatics. Nevertheless, conventional hypernetwork models have the limitation that they can manage data with categorical or discrete attibutes only since the learning method of hypernetworks is based on equality comparison of hyperedges with learned data. Therefore, real-valued data need to be discretized by preprocessing before learning with hypernetworks. However, discretization causes inevitable information loss and possible decrease of accuracy in pattern classification. To overcome this weakness, we propose a novel feature-wise L1-distance based method for real-valued attributes in learning hypernetwork models in this study. We show that the proposed model improves the classification accuracy compared with conventional hypernetworks and it shows competitive performance over other machine learning methods.

Machine learning is an algorithm which learns a computer based on the data so that the computer can identify the trend of the data and predict the output of new input data. Machine learning can be classified into supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. Supervised learning is a way of learning a machine with given label of data. In other words, a method of inferring a function of the system through a pair of data and a label is used to predict a result using a function inferred about new input data. If the predicted value is continuous, regression analysis is used. If the predicted value is discrete, it is used as a classification. A result of analysis, no. 8 (5, 3.4, setosa), 27 (5, 3.4, setosa), 41 (5, 3.5, setosa), 44 (5, 3.5, setosa) and 40 (5.1, 3.4, setosa) in Table 3 were classified as the most similar Iris flower. Therefore, theoretical practical are suggested.
Extreme learning machines (ELMs) are a major analytical method in various prediction fields. ELMs can accurately predict even if the data contains noise or is nonlinear by learning the complex patterns of time series data through optimal learning. This study presents the recent trends of machine learning models that are mainly studied as tools for analyzing online time series data, along with the application characteristics using existing algorithms. In order to efficiently learn large-scale online data that is continuously and explosively generated, it is necessary to have a learning technology that can perform well even in properties that can evolve in various ways. Therefore, this study examines a comprehensive overview of the latest machine learning models applied to big data in the field of time series prediction, discusses the general characteristics of the latest models that learn online data, which is one of the major challenges of machine learning for big data, and how efficiently they can learn and use online time series data for prediction, and proposes alternatives.

Despite the efforts of financial authorities in conducting the direct management and supervision of collection agents and bond-collecting guideline, the illegal and unfair collection of debts still exist. To effectively prevent such illegal and unfair debt collection activities, we need a method for strengthening the monitoring of illegal collection activities even with little manpower using technologies such as unstructured data machine learning. In this study, we propose a classification model for illegal debt collection that combine machine learning such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) with a rule-based technique that obtains the collection transcript of loan companies and converts them into text data to identify illegal activities. Moreover, the study also compares how accurate identification was made in accordance with the machine learning algorithm. The study shows that a case of using the combination of the rule-based illegal rules and machine learning for classification has higher accuracy than the classification model of the previous study that applied only machine learning. This study is the first attempt to classify illegalities by combining rule-based illegal detection rules with machine learning. If further research will be conducted to improve the model's completeness, it will greatly contribute in preventing consumer damage from illegal debt collection activities.
Recently, climate change has affected functional responses of river basins to meteorological variables, emphasizing the importance of rainfall-runoff simulation research. Simultaneously, the growing interest in machine learning has led to its increased application in hydrological studies. However, it is not yet clear whether machine learning models are more advantageous than the conventional conceptual models. In this study, we compared the performance of the conventional GR6J model with the machine learning-based Random Forest model across 38 basins in Korea using both gauged and ungauged basin prediction methods. For gauged basin predictions, each model was calibrated or trained using observed daily runoff data, and their performance was evaluted over a separate validation period. Subsequently, ungauged basin simulations were evaluated using proximity-based parameter regionalization with Leave-One-Out Cross-Validation (LOOCV). In gauged basins, the Random Forest consistently outperformed the GR6J, exhibiting superiority across basins regardless of whether they had strong or weak rainfall-runoff correlations. This suggest that the inherent data-driven training structures of machine learning models, in contrast to the conceptual models, offer distinct advantages in data-rich scenarios. However, the advantages of the machine-learning algorithm were not replicated in ungauged basin predictions, resulting in a lower performance than that of the GR6J. In conclusion, this study suggests that while the Random Forest model showed enhanced performance in trained locations, the existing GR6J model may be a better choice for prediction in ungagued basins.

In recent years, as demand for data-based analytical methodologies increases in various fields, optimization methods have been developed to handle them. In particular, various constraints required for problems in statistics and machine learning can be solved by convex optimization. Alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) can effectively deal with linear constraints, and it can be effectively used as a parallel optimization algorithm. ADMM is an approximation algorithm that solves complex original problems by dividing and combining the partial problems that are easier to optimize than original problems. It is useful for optimizing non-smooth or composite objective functions. It is widely used in statistical and machine learning because it can systematically construct algorithms based on dual theory and proximal operator. In this paper, we will examine applications of ADMM algorithm in various fields related to statistics, and focus on two major points: (1) splitting strategy of objective function, and (2) role of the proximal operator in explaining the Lagrangian method and its dual problem. In this case, we introduce methodologies that utilize regularization. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate effectiveness of the lasso.
