소성변형 및 마멸을 고려한 열간 단조 금형의 수명 평가 (Tool life Evaluation of Hot Forging about Plastic Deformation and Wear)

  • Hot forging is widely used in the manufacturing of industry machine component. The mechanical, thermal load and thermal softening which are happened by the high temperature in hot forging process. Tool life decreases considerably due to the softening of the surface layer of a tool caused by a high thermal load and long contact time between the tool and billet. Also, tool life is to a large extent limited by wear, heat crack and plastic deformation in hot forging process. These are one of the main factors affecting die accuracy and tool life. That is because hot forging process has many factors influencing tool life, and there was not accurate in-process data. In this research, life prediction of hot forging tool by wear and plastic deformation analysis considering tempering parameter has been carried out for automobile component. The new developed technique in this study for predicting tool life can give more feasible means to improve the tool life in hot forging process.

열연화 현상을 고려한 열간 단조 금형의 마멸해석 (Wear Analysis of Hot Forging Die considering Thermal Softening)

  • The die wear is one of the main factors affecting product accuracy and die life in hot forging process. It is desired to analyze die wear by developing wear prediction method combined with FE-simulatin and experiment. Lots of researches have been done into the wear analysis of cold forging die, and the results of those researches were successful, but there have been little applications to hot forging die giving successful results. That is because hot forging process has many factors influencing die wear, and there was not accurate in-process data. In this research, change of die surface hardness by thermal softening during the lifetime was obtained by experiment, and hardness distribution of cross section was measured. This wear analysis was applied to hot forging die, and gave comparatively good results compared with actual wear profile.

절삭공구개발의 역사 및 최근 동향

  • 절삭공구의 발달사 및 최근 개발동향에 대하여 살펴보았다. 현재 기계공업에 관련된 생산공정중 많은 부분을 절삭가공이 담당하고 있으며, 절삭가공시 중요한 역할을 하는 절삭공구는 소량의 마 멸 또는 파손에 의하여 사용이 불가하여 교체된다는 것을 생각할 때, 절삭공구의 세계 시장규모 가 매우 클 것이라는 것에 쉽사리 짐작될 수 있다. 그 뿐만 아니라 채광공구, 금형다이와 공구, 내마멸재 등에도 절삭공구재가 응용된다는 것을 고려하면 그 수요는 엄청난 것이다. 그런데 이 분야에서 우리나라의 수준은 선진국과 비교할 때 크게 뒤떨어져 있으며 그 격차 또한 점점 더 벌어지고 있는 실정이다. 그러므로 앞에서 살펴본 바와 같이 오랜기간 축적되어온 그들의 기술 수준을 따라 잡기 위해서는 관련 기술에 대한 연구 및 기술축적에 대하여 업계 및 학계의 부단한 노력이 요구된다고 하겠다.

베어링 내륜의 내면 연삭가공에서 진원도 개선 방안 (A scheme on roundness lmprovement in internal grinding of bearing inner race)

  • Precision of bearing race is very important to maintain the clearance between ball and inner race. In internal grinding of bearing race, its roundness is dependent on shoe wear, accuracy of jig, dressing method and grinding conditions. In this study, the characteristics of shoe wear and eccentricity of workpiece were investigated experimentally. When wear of fornt shoe wear reaches at 100.mu. m and that of rear shoe reaches at 114 .mu. m, eccentricity of inner race is increased to 1.4 .mu. m. Roundness of race is mainly related to wear of rear shoe and ring type shoe is recommended to improve roundness of race.

  • A rigid-plastic finite element analysis for the die forging process of a socket ball joint, which is used in the transportation system, was carried out. And also with the results, the elastic stress analysis for the forging die was performed in order to get basic data for the die life prediction. The die fatigue life prediction was simulated using Goodman's and Gerber's equation. The prediction technique for the fatigue life of a forged product, the socket ball joint, using DEFORM-3D is presented and the results are commented upon. Archard's wear model was used for the wear simulation and then the wear simulation and then the wear quantity was quantity was evaluated using volume. In order to prove the wear simulation results to be reliable, wear quantity of the real forging die set in used a forging factory was measured using a 3-dimensional measurement apparatus. The simulation results were relatively in good agreement with the experimental measurements.

고속가공에 의한 고경도재 QRO90 코어부의 가공성 향상 (Improvement of Machinability for QRO90 High Hardened Core Part by High Speed Machining)

  • This paper presents an experimental investigation of high speed machining of dies and molds. Several critical issues involved with the high speed machining of QRO90 tool steel of hardness up to HRc62, have been studied and explained from a detail analysis of experimental observations. The experiments were performed using ball end mills. The effect of different process parameters on tool life and surface finish produced was also investigated. The cutting parameters involved were; cutting speeds in the range of 100 to 40 / m/min, axial depth of cut from 0.1 to 0.5mm, pick feed of 0.1 to 0.5mm. Run out and acceleration signals were observed during the experiment to investigate cutting slates. Compressed air and flood coolant were used and the effect of coolant on tool life was also determined.

  • 최근 선진국에서 강화되고 있는 CAFE(Corporate Average Fuel Economy :기업평균연비) 규제를 극복하기 위해서는 차량의 경량화가 필수적이며 이를 위해 기존의 금속재료에 비하여 비강도, 탄성계수, 인성등이 우수한 기계적 성질을 가지면서 고분자 기지의 복합재료에 비해서 고온강도, 전기 및 열전도도와 내마모성이 우수한 금속기지 복합재료의 개발은 필수적이고도 중요한 위치를 차지한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자동차용 부품재 및 일반산업용 재료로 사용되고 있는 AC4A Al합금에 Si$C_w$prefohm을 용탕 단조법으로 강화하여 복합재료를 제조란 후 matrix와 함계 기계적성질, 마멸특성, 조직실험을 행한 결과 용탕 단조법에 의한 AC4A/Si$C_w$ 복합재료의 최적 제조조건은 용탕온도 80$0^{\circ}C$, 금형은도 40$0^{\circ}C$, preform은도 750-80$0^{\circ}C$, 가압압력 75MPa이었으며 Si$C_w$강화재가 I/M재에 비하여 경도값은 두배이상으로 상승하였고 Si$C_w$ 20v/o에서는 가압에 의한 큰 효과는 없었다.
