A Convergence Study on the Reaction Injection Mold Using Ultra High Strength Concrete (초고강도 콘크리트를 이용한 반응 사출 금형에 관한 융합 연구)

  • There is an increasing demands of more efficient and economical ways of mold making according to the spreading trend of small quantity batch production system. Therefore, this study aims to examine the applicability of ultra high strength concrete, which has a compressive strength over 80MPa, as a mold material. The ultra high strength concrete has several advantages such as lower cost, lighter weight and convenience of shape making compared to the traditional mold materials. Although the strength of the ultra high strength concrete is lower than that of the tool steel, it was considered to be useful for small batch processes with relatively low pressure. Therefore, in this study, a prototype mold for reaction injection molding of polyurethane was developed using ultra high strength concrete and it was examined that the possibility and characteristics of concrete as a mold material.

  • 본 논문은 전동형 모터의 Rotor의 자동 성형을 위한 자동화된 주조기 개발에 대한 결과이다. 개발된 자동화된 Rotor 전용 주조기는 수평형에 비해 금형의 크기가 약 1/2정도 이므로 금형 체결력이 반감되고, 기계 구조는 매우 작아진다. 그리고 Al용탕이 사출되는 과정에서 Spool -> Runner -> Gate -> Cavity(제품)에 이르기까지의 Runner를 최소화하여 재용융을 위한 에너지의 비용 절감을 할 수가 있다. 금형 구조가 간단하므로 금형비가 저렴하여 다품종 소량생산에 매우 유리하다. 개발제품은 수직형 구조로 알루미늄 용탕의 윗면의 공기가 금형의 유로 상측에 위치하므로 공기(gas)가 먼저 배출되어 사출(주조)후 Rotor 성형부에 남아 있는 기포가 최소화된다. 그러므로 충진도가 높아진다. Rotor 코아(규소강)가 크더라도 수직형은 금형내에 삽입(Inset)하기가 쉽고 또한, 제품의 착탈 부위와 사출부위가 다르기 때문에 작업성, 안전성이 우수하고 생산성이 매우 높다. 수직형은 충진 밀도가 매우 높고 밀도가 균일하기 때문 Rotor의 회전 소음, 진동에 대한 품질이 매우 우수하다. 따라서 고효율, 고품질의 전동모터 Rotor 제품 생산에 매우 효과적인 장비라 할 수 있다.

Investigation of Draw-bead Free Die Design to Prevent Wrinkles for Stainless Steel Basket-bowl Production (무비드 성형 조건에서 스테인리스 강 Basket-bowl의 주름 방지를 위한 금형 설계 연구)

  • The stainless steel basket-bowl, a critical component of washing machines, is characterized by its unique two-tiered circular shape. This study explores the potential of a draw-bead free die design to address tearing concerns in the prospective plastic layer during the drawing operation. In order to prevent wrinkles that may arise from the absence of a draw-bead, a two-stage punch configuration is proposed. The influence of the blank holder force on wrinkle reduction is also examined. Finite element analysis is employed to evaluate the proposed die design by analyzing the wrinkle shape and strain mode. The results confirm that the stainless steel basket-bowl can be successfully drawn without wrinkles utilizing the proposed two-stage punch without a draw-bead on the blank holder. These findings contribute to the development of more efficient and reliable manufacturing processes for the stainless steel basket-bowl production.

컴퓨터 통합생산자동화(CIM)기술의 산업적 의미와 연구개발 사례

  • CIM기술은 기업체 지원형 및 국산화형 생산기술과 더불어 필수적이고 상호 보완적인 산업기술이 고 또한 첨단제품기술 및 원천과학기술과의 연계가 가능한 접속(interface) 기술이다. 동시에 이의 연구개발은 다분야 공동참여적인 (multi-disciplinary) 기술적 배경을 필요로 하며 산업계 연구 수 행과 종속적이고도 이원적인 연구 체제가 필요하다. CIM기술개발의 예로서 제품 설계에서부터 설계의 해석 및 평가, 금형 설계, 공장 설계, 가공, 사상 및 측정. 검사까지의 과정과 생산통제를 포함하는 제반 생산 행위를 컴퓨터를 이용하여 생산 정보를 통합 제어함으로써 합리적인 금형 생산을 위한 사출 금형의 모델 플랜트를 소개하였다. 이 모델 플랜트는 설계, 공정 설계/NC, 연마, 측정. 검사, 시스템 통제의 5개 스테이션으로 구성되며, 각 스테이션에서의 중단위 통합 모델이 테스트되었다. 향후, 스테이션 간의 정보 흐름이 완전히 통합되면 금형업체는 물론 많은 제조업체에서의 광범위한 CIM기술 활용이 기대된다.

  • Due to the recent growth of die/mold machining industry, demands for the high-precision and the high0quality of die product are increasing rapidly. Free surfaces of die/mold are often manufactured using the ball-end milling process. It is difficult to find the cutting condition of the ball-end milling process due to the free form machining for the various tool paths on inclined surface.

  • Super-abrasives such as diamond and CBN have used to maintain accuracy and form deviation for superalloy etc. This study contains the dry cylindrical grinding of metals with resinoid-bond CBN wheel. For various conditions of grinding speed, workpiece speed, grinding depth and feed speed of table, the grinding resistance and the surface roughness are measured and discussed.   • Recently high speed machining is being studied actively to reduce machining time and to improve machining precision. To perform efficient high speed machining, evaluation of high speed machinability must be studied preferentially and it can be identified by investigation of cutting force, tool wear and surface roughness. In this study. the cutting force and tool wear and surface roughness are investigated in case of various cutting conditions for hardened die steel.

  • Tool condition monitoring is one of the most important aspects to improve productivity and quality and to achieve intelligent machining system. The tool state is classified into three groups as chipping, wear and fracture. In this study, wear of a ceramic cutting tool for hardened die material (SKD11) was investigated. Flank wear was occured more dominant than crarer wear. Therefore, to predict flank wear, the modeling of cutting force has been performed. The modeling of cutting force by an assumption that act the stress distribution on the tool face obtained through a numerical analysis. The relationships between the cutting force and the tool wear can be constructed by machining paraneters with cutting conditions. Experiments were performed under the various cutting conditions to ensure the validity of force models. The theoretical predictions of the flank wear is approximately in good agreement with experimental result.
