A strain of Streptomyces sp. which producing a metal containing proteolytic enzyme was isolated from soil and some properties of this enzyme were investigated. The following results were obtained. 1. Optimal pH and temperature of this enzyme were pH7.0 and 37$^{\circ}C$ 2. This enzyme was easily inactivated with heat treatment: for example, by the treatmentat 37$^{\circ}C$ for 100 minutes the activity of the enzyme was decreased to about 50 per cent of intial actively but this enzyme was stable at neutral pH. 3. The activity of this enzyme was not inhibited by $Mg^{++}$, $_Mn^{++}$, $Ca^{++}$, Pb$^{++}$, or $Ba^{++}$ ect. but strongly inhibited by Hg$^{++}$, Co$^{++}$, Ag$^{+}$, Cu$^{++}$, or Cd$^{++}$. 4. This enzyme was strongly inhibited by EDTA but was not inhibited by oxalic acid, citric acid, 2, 4-dinitrophenol, $\varepsilon$-aminocaproic acid, cysteine, or thiourea.

Recently, there are increasing social needs for stable supply of electric power and securing high quality of information and communication services. In this work, to propose the effective protection countermeasures of information-oriented equipments against lightning surges, the protection effects of surge protective devices(SPDs) were experimentally investigated using actual-sized test circuits in various installation conditions. As a result, it was found that the protection effect of SPDs is quite different depending on the factors, such as the grounding system of power source, numbers of branch circuits, wiring method of grounding leads, and etc. In case of installing SPDs for information-oriented equipments, including all electric power lines and communication lines, the common grounding should be the most effective. Wiring method containing grounding leads with power lines in metal conduit is suitable to improve the surge cutoff performance of SPDs.

This paper discribes the reflector type ultrasonic concentrator which makes hghintencity of ultrasonic field. This was made by rotating parabolic surface which only using total reflection aria, that makes boundary by the critical angle of reflection of sound. I made two binds of concentrator acording to the type of ultrasonic transduser: one is internal surface reflector type concentrator, which is available for disc type transducer, and the other is external surface reflector type concentrator which is available cylinderical transduser. In the mony aspects the reflector tripe concentrator is supel'ier to the reflection type concentrator as plastics lens; It is more durable in high temperature and high intencity ultrasonicfield then refrector type concentrator because of it is made by glass or metal, and it has higher. efficiency because of it wasts made by only total reflection aria that is without absoption lose. I think this is useful ultrasonic concentrator in mony industrial field, in which high intencitr of ultrasonic energy was used.

Vacuum hot pressing has been used for the development of titanium metal matrix composites using foil-fiber-foil method. Heterogeneous microstructures prior to and following consolidation have been quantified, and the relations to densification behavior investigated. As shown by the results, dramatic variations of the microstructures including equiaxed $\alpha$, transformed $\beta$ and $ Widmanst\ddot{a}tten$$\alpha$ are obtained during the process according to the fiber distributions. The dependence of microstructures on the consolidation then has been explained in terms of the change in mechanisms such as grain growth and recrystallization that occur with changing levels of inhomogeneity of deformation. Further, micro-mechanics based constitutive model enabling the evolution of density over time together with the evolutions of microstructure to be predicted has been developed. The mode developed is then implemented into finite element scheme so that practical process simulation has been carried out.
Several new symmetric and asymmetric homo and hetero dinuclear complexes of the type $[Cl(dppp)(NO)_2M({\mu}-pyz)M'(NO)_2(dppp)Cl][ClO_4]_2$ and $[Cl(phen)(NO)_2M({\mu}-pyz)M'(NO)_2(dppp)Cl][ClO_4]_2$(M,M'= Mo or W; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; dppp = 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane; pyz = 1,4-pyrazine) were synthesized in three-steps starting from $[M(NO)_2Cl_2]_n(M = Mo, W)$. The final products were purified by eluting it through silica gel column ($2{\times}20$ cm) with acetone as the eluent. Characterization of these complexes and some related complexes was accomplished through UV-vis., $^1H$-NMR, $^{13}C$-NMR and IR spectroscopies as well as elemental analysis. The infrared spectra indicate that the NO groups occupy cis-positions of the octahedral. The $^1H$ and $^{13}C-NMR$ data for the new compounds revealed a dimeric structures with bridged pyz.
A mathematical model has been derived and used to describe phosphoprotein partitioning in Fe(III) IDA-PEG/dextran two-phase systems. This model includes the inhibitory effects of hydrogen and hydroxyl ion concentrations on protein partitioning. For aqueous two-phase partitioning experiments, the Al and A2 subcomponents of ovalbumin carrying two and one surface phosphoryl group(s) were purified using an immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography (IMAC). The ratio of partition coefficients in the presence and absence of Fe(III)IDA-PEG, K/Ko, increased in the pH range of 3.0 to 5.0 due to deprotonation of the second oxygen of the phosphoryl group, and above pH 5.0 declined steeply by the inhibitory binding of hydroxyl ions to the metal ion. This partitioning behavior was well described by the mathematical model. The binding constants for formation of the complex between the phosphoryl group and the Fe(III)IDA-PEG were found to be $6.1{\times}10^3M^{-1} and 2.3{\times}10^4M^{-1}$ in the top and bottom phases, respectively. These values are 3-5 times those for interaction of Cu(II)IDA-PEG with a single surface-accessible histidine.

In this study, In order to develop the measurement method of high energy density metal aluminum dust cloud combustion, flame temperature and emission spectrum was measured using spectrometer. Because of the ultra high ${\mu}m$-sized aluminum flame temperature more than 2400 K, it was measured by non-contact optical technique which is the modified two wavelength pyrometry with 520, 640 nm and spectrum comparison method. These methods were applied to experiment after accurate verification. As a result, we could identify that flame temperature is more than 2400 K in bottom of combustor in both methods. And on the emission spectrum analysis, we could measure AlO radical which is occurred dominantly in aluminum combustion.

CRUD (chalk river unidentified deposits) is a porous material deposited on the surface of nuclear fuel during nuclear power plant operation. The CRUD is composed of metal oxides, such as iron, nickel, and chromium. It is essential to investigate the effects of the CRUD layer on the wall heat transfer between the nuclear fuel surface and the coolant in the event of a nuclear accident. CRUD only negatively affects the temperature of the nuclear fuel due to heat resistance because the effects of the CRUD layer on two-phase boiling heat transfer are not considered. In this study, the physical property models for the porous CRUD layer were developed and implemented into the SPACE code. The effects of boiling heat transfer models on the peak cladding temperature and quenching were investigated by simulating a reflood experiment. The calculation results showed some positive effects of the CRUD layer.

In this work, we investigated a low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) thin film transistors fabrication process on polymer layers. Dehydrogenation and activation processes were performed by a furnace annealing at a temperature of $430^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr. The crystallization of amorphous silicon films was formed by excimer laser annealing (ELA) method. The p-type device performance, fabricated by polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) films, shows a very good performance with field effect mobility of $77cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ and on/off ratio current ratio > $10^7$. We believe that the poly-Si formed by a LTPS process may be well suited for fabrication of poly-Si TFTs for bendable panel displays such as AMOLED that require circuit integration.
