Optical Design of a Modified Catadioptric Omnidirectional Optical System for a Capsule Endoscope to Image Simultaneously Front and Side Views on a RGB/NIR CMOS Sensor (RGB/NIR CMOS 센서에서 정면 영상과 측면 영상을 동시에 결상하는 캡슐 내시경용 개선된 반사굴절식 전방위 광학계의 광학 설계)

  • A modified catadioptric omnidirectional optical system (MCOOS) using an RGB/NIR CMOS sensor is optically designed for a capsule endoscope with the front field of view (FOV) in visible light (RGB) and side FOV in visible and near-infrared (NIR) light. The front image is captured by the front imaging lens system of the MCOOS, which consists of an additional three lenses arranged behind the secondary mirror of the catadioptric omnidirectional optical system (COOS) and the imaging lens system of the COOS. The side image is properly formed by the COOS. The Nyquist frequencies of the sensor in the RGB and NIR spectra are 90 lp/mm and 180 lp/mm, respectively. The overall length of 12 mm, F-number of 3.5, and two half-angles of front and side half FOV of 70° and 50°-120° of the MCOOS are determined by the design specifications. As a result, a spatial frequency of 154 lp/mm at a modulation transfer function (MTF) of 0.3, a depth of focus (DOF) of -0.051-+0.052 mm, and a cumulative probability of tolerance (CPT) of 99% are obtained from the COOS. Also, the spatial frequency at MTF of 170 lp/mm, DOF of -0.035-0.051 mm, and CPT of 99.9% are attained from the front-imaging lens system of the optimized MCOOS.

Use of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy for Determination of Grain Components in Barley (보리종실 성분분석을 위한 근적외선분광광도계의 이용방법)

  • Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) has been used as a tool for the rapid, accurate and nondestructive assay of small grain and forage quality analysis. The objective of this study was to establish the rapid, easy and accurate analysis method for major components of covered barley using NIRS system. NIRS used in this study was filter type instrument, Neotec 102. To obtain a useful calibration equation, standard regression between the data was analyzed by chemical analysis and by NIRS method. Standard errors of prediction (SEP) and simple correlations for unknown samples were calculated using obtained equation. SEPs for starch, $\beta$-glucan, protein and ash contents were 2.75%, 0.64%, 0.26% and 0.19%, respectively. The simple correlations for starch, $\beta$-glucan, protein and ash contents were 0.932, 0.588, 0.984 and 0.867, respectively. It was concluded that the NIRS method would be applicabl for the rapid determination of starch, protein and ash contents in barley grains.

  • When developing a product, ensuring the quality and reliability is essential. Reliability process is always underestimated compared to its importance, especially in the field of domestic medical devices. In this paper, reliability process developed for near-infrared solid microscope, based on a variety of existing practices and other product process. The following findings were obtained as research progressed. First, learning about the medical equipment needed to assure the quality and reliability standards. Second, reliability process established to design a product in the field of medical devices.

  • In this study, we used NIR spectrum method instead of conventional HPLC method to shorten the analysis and manufacturing time of the loxoprofen products. Loxoprofen mixtures with other pharmaceutical additives were prepared and evaluated by the NIR spectrometer and the HPLC system. Validation of both methods was performed for specificity, accuracy and precision. NIR spectrometer method was validated and revealed proper results for the in-process quality control in the pharmaceutical field. In conclusion, NIR spectrometry can be replaced by HPLC method.

  • The study of geomorphology of tidal flat using remote sensing image has been considered useful because of it's ability to acquire data periodically. Especially, the Near Infrared band of satellite image has been used to divide between land and sea area. This study extracted a borderline of the tidal flat using Landsat-5 images and generated DEM(Digital elevation model) using tide level data as elevation value. DEM is a useful tool for three-dimensional survey of geomorphology and can be used for survey of tidal flat. This study divided 8 images of 1990's into two parts - before 1994 and after 1994 - and generated DEM respectively. In this work, the areas of tidal flats are calculated and it was revealed the area of tidal flat was decreased after 1994.

대기압 저온 아르곤 플라즈마 제트의 분광 분석

  • 대기압 저온 Ar 플라즈마 제트에서 발생되는 플라즈마에 대해 연구하였다. 플라즈마 제트의 본체는 주사기 바늘, 유리관 그리고 테프론 튜브로 구성되어 있다. 바늘의 앞부분은 유리관에 삽입되어 있으며 바늘의 뒷부분은 테프론 튜브와 연결되어 있다. 주사기 바늘에는 수십 kHz의 사인파를 발생시키는 DC-AC 인버터로 수 kV의 고전압을 인가해준다. 기체는 테프론 튜브를 통해 바늘의 안쪽으로 흐른다. 사용 기체는 Ar이며 유량은 3 lpm이다. 주사기 바늘형 전극의 내경은 1.3 mm, 외경은 1.8 mm, 총 길이는 39.0 mm이며 재질은 스테인레스강이다. 유리관의 내경은 2.0 mm, 외경은 2.4 mm, 총 길이는 80.0 mm이다. 자외선-근적외선 분광계를 이용하여 대기압 저온 Ar 플라즈마 제트에서 발생된 플라즈마의 분광 분석을 하였다. 플라즈마 제트에서 발생되는 플라즈마의 휘도는 대략 $10{\sim}30cd/m^2$이다. 플라즈마의 측정 위치, 플라즈마 제트의 입력 전압과 입력 전류, 기체 종류 등의 변수에 따른 분광 실험을 하였으며 이를 통해 얻은 분광 데이터를 일반적인 볼츠만 기울기법에 대입하여 플라즈마의 들뜸 온도를 측정하였다. 또한 Ar 플라즈마 제트의 분광 데이터를 수정된 볼츠만 기울기법에 대입하여 플라즈마의 전자 온도를 측정하였다. 이는 바이오-의료용 플라즈마 및 플라즈마 공정 등의 다양한 응용 분야에서 유용하게 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

Effect of Annealing Temperature on the Low Emissivity of TiO2/Ag/TiO2 Films (열처리 온도에 따른 TiO2/Ag/TiO2 박막의 근적외선 반사 특성 변화)

  • Ag intermediated $TiO_2$ films were deposited by RF and DC magnetron sputtering and then vacuum annealed at 100, 200 and $300^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes to investigate the effect of annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of the films. For all depositions, the thickness of the $TiO_2$ and Ag films were kept constant at 24 and 15 nm by controlling the deposition time. As-deposited $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ trilayer films have a weak crystalline and an optical reflectance in a near infrared wavelength region of 77.8%, while the films annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ show the polycrystalline structure and an increased mean optical reflectance of 80.4%. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that increasing the annealing temperature enhanced the structural and optical properties of the $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ films.

Design and Fabrication of an NIR Grism Si Optical Area Sensor Spectrometer with In-band Reference Wavelength (대역 내 기준 파장을 갖는 근적외선 그리즘 실리콘 광 면 센서 분광기 설계 및 제작)

  • An NIR grism Si optical area sensor spectrometer with in-band reference wavelength is designed and fabricated. It is composed of a transmission type diffraction grating (spatial density 300 line/mm), a rectangular N-BK7 prism (apex angle 30 degree), NIR filter(cutoff wavelength 720 nm), an imaging convex lens(focal length 50 mm F1.8) and an IR modified DSLR camera (Canon EOS40D) of Si optical area sensor ($3,888{\times}2,592$ pixels, pixel size $5.710{\mu}m$). "In-band reference wavelength function" is implemented using non-dispersive 0th diffraction order optical beam. The NIR grism spectrometer is tested in a laboratory using a halogen lamp and a Neon lamp. And the spectrometer is used in an astronomy field for obtaining the planet Jupiter NIR spectrum. In-band reference wavelength i.e. un-deviation wavelength is 846 nm, an wavelength resolution is 0.3027 nm/pixel, an wavelength resolving power is 2,794 and an wavelength range is 650~1,000 nm.

Color Image Acquired by the Multispectral Near-IR LED Lights (다중 파장 근적외선 LED조명에 의한 컬러영상 획득)

  • A system which provides multispectral near-IR and visible gray images of objects is constructed and an algorithm is derived to acquire a natural color image of objects from the gray images. A color image of 24 color patches is obtained by recovering their CIE (International Commission on Illumination) LAB color coordinates $L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$ from their gray images using the algorithm based on polynomial regression. The system is composed of a custom-designed LED illuminator emitting multispectral near-IR illuminations, fluorescent lamps and a monochrome digital camera. Color reproducibility of the algorithm is estimated in CIELAB color difference ${\Delta}E^*_{ab}$. And as a result, if yellow and magenta color patches with around 10 ${\Delta}E^*_{ab}$ are disregarded, the average ${\Delta}E^*_{ab}$ is 2.9, and this value is within the acceptability tolerance for quality evaluation for digital color complex image.

Studies on Thermal Stability and Cure Behavior of Epoxy Resins using Electron-beam Curing Technique (전자선 경화를 이용한 에폭시 수지의 열안정성과 경화동력학에 관한 연구)

  • The di-functional epoxy resins, i.e., diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DGEBA) and diglycidylethere of bisphenol F(DGEBF) were initiated by cationic catalyst, i.e., benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroantimonate(BQH) using electron-beam(EB) technique. And the effect of structure of DGEBA and DGEBF on thermal stabilities and cure behaviors was investigated. According to the experimental results, the decomposed activation energy based on Horowitz-Metzger method was higher in the case of DGEBA, but intergral procedural decomposition temperature(IPDT) of DGEBA was lower than DGEBF. This could be interpreted in terms of high crosslink density resulted from hydroxyl bond of DGEBF backbone. It was confirmed in increasing the hydroxyl band at $7000\;cm^{-1}$ and $5235\;cm^{-1}$ using near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS).
