Efficient Architecture of an n-bit Radix-4 Modular Multiplier in Systolic Array Structure (시스톨릭 어레이 구조를 갖는 효율적인 n-비트 Radix-4 모듈러 곱셈기 구조)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient architecture for radix-4 modular multiplication in systolic array structure based on the Montgomery's algorithm. We propose a radix-4 modular multiplication algorithm to reduce the number of iterations, so that it takes (3/2)n+2 clock cycles to complete an n-bit modular multiplication. Since we can interleave two consecutive modular multiplications for 100% hardware utilization and can start the next multiplication at the earliest possible moment, it takes about only n/2 clock cycles to complete one modular multiplication in the average. The proposed architecture is quite regular and scalable due to the systolic array structure so that it fits in a VLSI implementation. Compared to conventional approaches, the proposed architecture shows shorter period to complete a modular multiplication while requiring relatively less hardware resources.

  • Chaotic behavior in motor systems is undesired dynamics in real-time implementation since the speed is oscillated in a wide range and the torque is changed by a random manner. We present an adaptive control approach for time-varying permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with chaotic phenomenon. We consider that its parameters are changed randomly within certain bounds. First, a nonlinear system model of a PMSM is transformed to derive a nominal linear control strategy. Then, an auxiliary control for compensating real-time control error occurred by system perturbation due to parameter change is designed by using Lyapunov stability theory. Numerical simulation is accomplished for evaluating its efficiency and reliability comparing with the traditional control method. Additionally, we test our control method in real-time motor experiment including a PSoC based drive system to demonstrate its practical applicability.

  • This paper presents a morphological analysis method for the Korean language. The characteristics and adjacency information of the words can be obtained from sentences in a large corpus. Generally a word can be analyzed to a result by applying the adjacency attributes and rules. However, we have to choose one from the several results for the ambiguous words. The collected morpheme's adjacency attributes and relations with neighbor words are recorded in a well designed dictionaries. With this information, abbreviated words as well as ambiguous words can be almost analyzed successfully. Efficiency of morphological analyzer depends on the information in the dictionaries. A morpheme dictionary and a phrase dictionary have been designed with lexical database, and necessary information extracted from the corpus is stored in the dictionaries.

  • Attacking of computer and network is increasing as information processing technology heavily depends on computer and network. To prevent the attack of system and network, host and network based intrusion detection system has developed. But previous rule based system has a lot of difficulties. For this reason demand for developing a intrusion detection system which detects and cope with the attack of system and network resource in real time. In this paper we develop a real time intrusion detection system which is combination of APEX and LS-SVM classifier. Proposed system is for nonlinear data and guarantees convergence. While real time processing system has its advantages, such as memory efficiency and allowing a new training data, it also has its disadvantages of inaccuracy compared to batch way. Therefore proposed real time intrusion detection system shows similar performance in accuracy compared to batch way intrusion detection system, it can be deployed on a commercial scale.

  • Voice activity detectors (VADs) are important in wireless communication and speech signal processing. In the conventional VAD methods. an expression for the likelihood ratio test (LRT) based on statistical models is derived. Then, speech or noise is decided by comparing the value of the expression with a threshold. We propose a new method with the modified decision rule based on the Gaussian distribution and the uniformly most power (UMP) test. This method requires the distribution of the absolute value of the incoming speech signal. Then we can obtain the final decision through the relation between the Rayleigh distributions. This VAD method can detect speech without a priori signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) which is required in the conventional VAD algorithms. Additionally, in the various VAD performance tests, the proposed VAD method is shown to be more effective than the traditional scheme.

  • In this paper, we propose ubiWarehouse system which can efficiently manages mass and many kinds of parts such as automotive parts. First, user's work situation is defined systematically as context type of 5W1H, context-aware system is separated on function, and each module operates independently. An efficient route is selected and relevant parts frequently treated at the same time are gathered by calculating the suitability of parts and racks. If other users currently are on a visit or are supposed to visit soon, the hun of visit is changed making a concession for preventing collision. As a result, the proposed system with avoiding competition can provide users with routes for inbound or outbound parts, and can effectively use spaces of a warehouse by arranging racks to gather relevant parts to near location. Also, individual service can be offered by evaluating user propensity using history of the warehouse job, and the accuracy of stock information can be improved by processing of unexpected context and real-time renewing of warehousing and delivering.

  • Considering the domestic traffic environment and the increase of traffic accidents, we have been asked to exactly analyze the main causes of accidents for the accident-experienced drivers to be rehabilitated. In this thesis we present the development process and results of a driving simulator using the IPDE method in the interest of safe driving and driving rehabilitation. Through this Driving simulation development the rehabilitated driver has the possibility of experiencing the real driving situation with the driving aptitude and examines the reasons of accidents. Through the examinations the driver has the chance to correct the deformities of driving by choosing the explanatory scenes, and through this process the driver is able to develop the capability to react in the real situation. However this driving simulation system is one of the best developed, depending on weather and road condition the braking distance may change. Therefore the fuzzy rule and neural network have been used in this thesis to solve previously mentioned problem. The simulation exactly calculated the road and weather conditions to adjust the breaking intensity.

  • We propose two phase filtering scheme to develop an efficient mechanism for XML databases to control query-based access. An access control environment for XML documents and some techniques to deal with fine-grained authorization priorities and conflict resolution issues are proposed. Despite this, relatively little work has been done to enforce access controls particularly for XML databases in the case of query-based access. The basic idea utilized is that a user query interaction with only necessary access control rules is modified to an alternative form through a query optimization technique, which is guaranteed to have no access violations using tree-aware metadata of XML schemas. The scheme can be applied to any XML database management system and has several advantages such as small execution time overhead, fine-grained controls, and safe and correct query modification. The experimental results clearly demonstrate the efficiency of the approach.

  • Monitoring systems used at present to operate HVAC(Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) optimally do not have a function that enables to detect faults properly when there are faults of such as operating plants or performance falling, so they are unable to manage faults rapidly and operate optimally. In this paper, we have developed a classified rule-based fault detection system which can be inclusively used in HVAC system of a building by installation of sensor which is composed of HVAC system and required low costs compare to the model based fault detection system which can be used only in a special building or system. In order to experiment this algorithm, it was applied to HVAC system which is installed inside EC(Environment Chamber), verified its own practical effect, and confirmed its own applicability to the related field in the future.

Improvements of an English Pronunciation Dictionary Generator Using DP-based Lexicon Pre-processing and Context-dependent Grapheme-to-phoneme MLP (DP 알고리즘에 의한 발음사전 전처리와 문맥종속 자소별 MLP를 이용한 영어 발음사전 생성기의 개선)

  • In this paper, we propose an improved MLP-based English pronunciation dictionary generator to apply to the variable vocabulary word recognizer. The variable vocabulary word recognizer can process any words specified in Korean word lexicon dynamically determined according to the current recognition task. To extend the ability of the system to task for English words, it is necessary to build a pronunciation dictionary generator to be able to process words not included in a predefined lexicon, such as proper nouns. In order to build the English pronunciation dictionary generator, we use context-dependent grapheme-to-phoneme multi-layer perceptron(MLP) architecture for each grapheme. To train each MLP, it is necessary to obtain grapheme-to-phoneme training data from general pronunciation dictionary. To automate the process, we use dynamic programming(DP) algorithm with some distance metrics. For training and testing the grapheme-to-phoneme MLPs, we use general English pronunciation dictionary with about 110 thousand words. With 26 MLPs each having 30 to 50 hidden nodes and the exception grapheme lexicon, we obtained the word accuracy of 72.8% for the 110 thousand words superior to rule-based method showing the word accuracy of 24.0%.
