  • We propose a new technique for real-time controller design of a autonomous cruise mobile robot with three drive wheels. The proposed control scheme uses a Gaussian function as a unit function in the fuzzy neural network, and a back propagation algorithm to train the fuzzy neural network controller in the framework of the specialized learning architecture. It is proposed a learning controller consisting of two neural network-fuzzy based on independent reasoning and a connection net with fixed weights to simply the neural networks-fuzzy. The control performance of the proposed controller is illustrated by performing the computer simulation for trajectory tracking of the speed and azimuth of a autonomous cruise mobile robot driven by three independent wheels.

  • A lot of robot trajectory tracking methods are proposed to enhance the tracking error, but irregular tracking errors are always accompanied and very hard to reduce it. Up to now, these irregular tracking errors are reduced by introducing more complicated control algorithms. But, it is intuitively obvious to reduce only the big errors selectively in the irregular ones for the better performance instead of using more complicated control algorithms. By the characteristics of the robot, big tracking errors of the end-effector are generated mostly due to the fast moving of joint. So, in this paper, we introduce a new method which reduce the big tracking errors by clippings the joint velocity with the constraint of given path. Using this method, desired trajectory tracking is obtained within the far reduced error bound. Also, this method is successfully applied to generate the path-constrained error reducing trajectories for 2-axis SCARA type robot.

  • This paper defines an effectiveness index for optical continuous observation of unknown space objects and presents a range of design variables combinations that can satisfy the effectiveness index from a telescope/mount control system perspective using integrated simulation. The overall system-level simulation was implemented and the tracking performance was analyzed by considering design variables such as target position prediction and frame rate, image processing time and measurement error, target trajectory characteristics, and maneuver performance of mount gimbal. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the continuous tracking performance of the optical observation system is dependent on the combination of frame rate and mount maneuver performance. In a situation where an optical observation system is designed or a similar system is implemented using COTS, an appropriate combination of parameters between design variables can be found through effectiveness analysis simulation as in this study.

  • In this paper, we propose a the image-based automatic flight control system for the mini drone. Automatic flight system with a camera on the ceiling and markers on the floor and landing position is designed in an indoor environment. Images from the ceiling camera is used not only to recognize the makers and landing position but also to track the drone motion. PC sever identifies the location of the drone and sends control commands to the mini drone. Flight controller of the mini drone is designed using state-machine algorithm, PID control and way-point position control method. From the, The proposed automatic flight control system is verified through the experiments of the mini drone. We see that known makers in environment are recognized and the drone can follows the trajectories with the specific ㄱ, ㄷ and ㅁ shapes. Also, experimental results show that the drone can approach and correctly land on the target positions which are set at different height.

  • This paper describes the developed HILS and test equipment in order to test the performances of MMW(Millimeter-Wave) seeker which can detect and track a high speed of short-range ballistic missile and aircraft. This system is used to 141 horn antenna array, array switching, and gain and phase control algorithm to simulate various kind of targets and trajectory of high speed and maneuver moving target. In addition, it simulates not only velocity and range for these targets but also clutter and jamming environments. System configuration and implementation and the measurement results of major subsystems such as target motion simulator, simulation signal generator, high speed data aquisition unit, and central control unit are presented. These systems could verify the detection and tracking performance of MMW seeker through dynamic real-time test based on simulation flight scenario.

  • The IoT (Internet of Things) technology is rapidly becoming an important consideration in many engineering fields in the current 4th industrial era. In recent years, the concepts of digital shipbuilding and smart factories have been adopted as trends in shipyards. However, there is active interest in research on implementing autonomous driving in autonomous vehicles and airplanes, which is currently available in commercial form in a limited capacity. The present study is regarding the path-tracking performance of a boat to accomplish an autonomous driving mission using a flight controller (FC) and real-time kinematic (RTK) global positioning system (GPS) based on an open-source Ardupilot; an actual sea test is also performed using this system on a calm lake. The boat's mission is to evaluate the maneuverability of the self-driving process to a specific point and returning to the home position. For a given speed, the difference between the preset mission trajectory and actual operational trajectory was analyzed, and a series of studies were conducted on the applicability of the system to ships. In addition, the movements and maneuverability of the OmniX-type hull with four propellers were investigated, and the driving path-tracking performance was observed to increase by a maximum of 48%.

  • This paper presents a novel on-line trajectory optimization framework based on automatic time warping, which performs the time warping of a reference motion while optimizing character motion control. Unlike existing physics-based character animation methods where sampling times for a reference motion are uniform or fixed during optimization in general, our method considers the change of sampling times on top of the dynamics of character motion in the same optimization, which allows the character to effectively respond to external pushes with optimal time warping. In order to do so, we formulate an optimal control problem which takes into account both the full-body dynamics and the change of sampling time for a reference motion, and present a model predictive control framework that produces an optimal control policy for character motion and sampling time by repeatedly solving the problem for a fixed-span time window while shifting it along the time axis. Our experimental results show the robustness of our framework to external perturbations and the effectiveness on rhythmic motion synthesis in accordance with a given piece of background music.

  • In the case of a radar repeater that used for the trajectory tracking of a high-speed aircraft, it emits pulses of short width. For phase displacement of these signals a branch type phase shifter is used. The phase on the transmission line is changed by utilizing the variable reactance at the end of the displacement branch transmission line. Further, it is easy to control the high output signal, and there is an advantage that the insertion loss is not large even when the reactance fails. In this paper, we will discuss the fabrication test results of a 400 W class phase shifter that sequentially displaces the phase at $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$.

  • In this research, intelligent protection system for laser boat is introduced. The function of system is to measure the distance and velocity of object from our boat and generate control signals to avoid collision with moving targets. A novel approach to estimate object's position from our ship is tackled on this paper. To do this laser sensors are used to measure distance from ship to targets. The ship position and velocity is estimated by th Kalman filter algorithm. In the real phase, the filtering method will be applied to process signal gathered by laser sensors. Simulation to estimate ship's position and velocity under noise are executed and the results are introduced to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • In this thesis, we develop a vision based hand motion recognition system using a camera with two rotational motors. Existing systems were implemented using a range camera or multiple cameras and have a limited working area. In contrast, we use an uncalibrated camera and get more wide working area by pan-tilt motion. Given an image sequence provided by the pan-tilt camera, color and pattern information are integrated into a tracking system in order to find the 2D position and direction of the hand. With these pose information, we estimate 3D motion plane on which the gesture motion trajectory from approximately forms. The 3D trajectory of the moving finger tip is projected into the motion plane, so that the resolving power of the linear gesture patterns is enhanced. We have tested the proposed approach in terms of the accuracy of trace angle and the dimension of the working volume.
