Generation of 3-D City Model using Aerial Imagery (항공사진을 이용한 3차원 도시 모형 생성)

  • 3-D virtual city model is becoming increasingly important for a number of GIS applications. For reconstruction of 3D building in urban area aerial images, satellite images, LIDAR data have been used mainly and most of researches related to 3-D reconstruction focus on development of method for extraction of building height and reconstruction of building. In case of automatically extracting and reconstructing of building height using only aerial images or satellite images, there are a lot of problems, such as mismatching that result from a geometric distortion of optical images. Therefore, researches of integrating optical images and existing digital map (1/1,000) has been in progress. In this paper, we focused on extracting of building height by means of interest points and vertical line locus method for reducing matching points. Also we used digital plotter in order to validate for the results in this study using aerial images (1/5,000) and existing digital map (1/1,000).

Study of the Wake Flow Around a Circular Cylinder (단독 원기둥 주위의 후류유동에 관한 연구)

  • This experimental study investigated the wake flow around an elastically supported circular cylinder. In this study, the Reynolds numbers are varied in the region of $1.4{\times}10^4{\leq}Re{\leq}3.2{\times}10^4$. Under these conditions, we have captured the process of the wake mechanism and the moving path of the vortex by measuring the velocity at each position in the wake around the cylinder. Further, these facts from the wind tunnel test are proved by a flow visualization test through a water channel. From the result, we have arrived at the following conclusions : i) The process (formation${\rightarrow}$growth${\rightarrow}$collapse) of vortex is observed in the wake around the cylinder, ii) The vortex efflux angle is approximately $16^{\circ}{\sim}17^{\circ}$ under the experimental conditions. These angles have no relationship with the velocity change and the existence of flow-induced vibrations of the cylinder, and iii) The moving path of the vortex center is obtained by spectrum analysis of the fluctuating velocity behind the cylinder. These are confirmed by conducting visualization tests.

Generation of Adaptive Walking Motion for Uneven Terrain (다양한 지형에서의 적응적인 걷기 동작 생성)

  • Most of 3D character animation adjusts the gait of their characters for various terrains, using motion capture data through the motion capture equipments. This motion capture data can be naturally presented as real human motions, which are to be adjusted according to the various types of terrain. In addition, there would be a difficulty applying motion capture data for other characters in which the motion data will be captured again or edited for the existing motion data. Therefore, this paper proposes a method that is to generate walking motion for various terrains, such as flat, inclined plane, stair, and irregular face, and a method that is to calculate the trajectory of the swing leg and pelvis. These methods are able to generate various gaits controlled by the parameters of body height, walking speed, stride, etc. In addition, the positions and angles of joint can be calculated by using inverse kinematics, and the cubic spline will be used to calculate the trajectory of the joint.

  • This paper proposes an on-line mining algorithm of moving trajectory patterns in RFID data streams considering changing characteristics over time and constraints of single-pass data scan. Since RFID, sensor, and mobile network technology have been rapidly developed, many researchers have been recently focused on the study of real-time data gathering from real-world and mining the useful patterns from them. Previous researches for sequential patterns or moving trajectory patterns based on stream data have an extremely time-consum ing problem because of multi-pass database scan and tree traversal, and they also did not consider the time-changing characteristics of stream data. The proposed method preserves the sequential strength of 2-lengths frequent patterns in binary relationship table using the time-evolving graph to exactly reflect changes of RFID data stream from time to time. In addition, in order to solve the problem of the repetitive data scans, the proposed algorithm infers candidate k-lengths moving trajectory patterns beforehand at a time point t, and then extracts the patterns after screening the candidate patterns by only one-pass at a time point t+1. Through the experiment, the proposed method shows the superior performance in respect of time and space complexity than the Apriori-like method according as the reduction ratio of candidate sets is about 7 percent.

  • In order to extract and analyze complex features of the behavior of animals in response to external stimuli such as toxic chemicals, we implemented an adaptive computational method to characterize changes in the behavior of chironomids in response to treatment with the insecticide, diazinon. In this paper, we propose an energy minimization model to extract the features of response behavior of chironomids under toxic treatment, which is applied on the image of velocity vectors. It is based on the improved active contour model and the variations of the energy functional, which are produced by the evolving active contour. The movement tracks of individual chironomid larvae were continuously measured in 0.25 second intervals during the survey period of 4 days before and after the treatment. Velocity on each sample track at 0.25 second intervals was collected in 15-20 minute periods and was subsequently checked to effectively reveal behavioral states of the specimens tested. Active contour was formed around each collection of velocities to gradually evolve to find the optimal boundaries of velocity collections through processes of energy minimization. The active contour which is improved by T. Chan and L. Vese is used in this paper. The energy minimization model effectively revealed characteristic patterns of behavior for the treatment versus no treatment, and identified changes in behavioral states .is the time progressed.

A Comprehensive Method to Impute Vehicle Trajectory Data Collected in Wireless Traffic Surveillance Environments (무선통신기반 교통정보수집체계하에서의 차량주행궤적정보 결측치 보정방안)

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) enables road users to enhance efficiency of their trips in a variety of traffic conditions. As a significant part of ITS, information communication technology among vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure has been being developed to upgrade current traffic data collection technology through location-based traffic surveillance systems. A wider and detailed range of traffic data can be acquired with ease by the technology. However, its performance level falls with environmental impediments such as large vehicles, buildings, harsh weather, which often bring about wireless communication failure. For imputation of vehicle trajectory data discontinued by the failure, several potential existing methods were reviewed and a new method to complement them was devised. AIMSUN API(Application Programming Interface) software was utilized to simulate vehicle trajectories data and missing vehicle trajectories data was randomly generated for the verification of the method. The method was proven to yield more accurate and reliable traffic data than the existing ones.

  • 본 논문에서는 은닉 마르코프 모형(HMM)을 이용하여 사람이 쓴 필기의 통계적 특징을 갖는 글씨를 생성하는 방법에 대해서 기술코자 한다. 온라인 필기처럼 같이 필기 궤적을 시계열 신호로 표현하고, 그 특징을 통계적 모형의 하나인 HMM으로 표현한다. HMM은 시계열 신호에 대응하는 모형 내부 경로와 심볼열의 확률 분포를 표현하는 함수이다. 따라서 최적 경로에서 볼 수 있는 최적 출력 심볼열은 훈련 필기 데이타의 평균적 필기 특징에 해당한다. HMM이 주어졌을 때 HMM에서 최적의 패턴을 해석적으로 구하는 방법은 알려져 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 동적 프로그래밍 기법을 적용하여 HMM이나 HMM 네트워크 모형에서 필기를 생성하는 방법을 제시하고, 아울러 HMM의 문제점을 지적한다.

  • 임의의 위치에 음상을 정위하는 기본적인 방법으로, 머리전달함수(HRTF : Head Related Transfer Function)을 원음에 convolution하는 기법이 사용된다. 또한 머리전달함수의 주파수 영역에서의 보간을 이용하여 이동음 효과를 생성할 수 있다. 하지만 더미헤드를 이용하여, 각각의 고도각과 방위각에서 측정된 머리전달함수는 사용자에 따라 정위감을 저하시킬 수 있으며, 클릭음 발생, 보간 특성의 변화등의 문제점이 발생하게 된다. 또한 좌표로 표현되는 영상과는 달리, 소리는 들려오는 방향을 정확한 좌표로 표현하기가 힘들다. 이에 본 논문에서는, 이동음 궤적상의 머리전달함수와 그 주변의 머리전달함수를 선형 보간법으로 그룹화하여 생성된 새로운 머리전달함수를 이용하여 이동음을 구현하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 생성된 머리전달함수를 이용하여 구현한 이동음의 청감평가를 수행하여 개선 효과를 확인하였다.

  • This paper investigates effective methods for implementing motion matching, which is actively used in real-time motion generation applications. The success of motion matching heavily hinges on its simple definition of a feature vector, yet this very definition can introduce significant variance in the outcomes. Our research focuses on identifying the optimal combination of feature vectors that effectively generates desired trajectories in locomotion generation. To this end, we experimented with a range of feature vector combinations and performed an in-depth error analysis to evaluate the results.

  • 종래의 입체음향 재생은 3개 이상의 여러대의 스피커를 이용하는 멀티 채널방식의 입체음향이 주류를 이루고 있다. 간혹, 2개의 스피커나 헤드폰을 이용하는 2채널방식으로 재생된 음향을 구현하는 시스템들이 개발되고 있으나 이는 주로 하드웨어를 기반으로 개발되고 있으며, 최근에 소프트웨어만으로 2채널방식의 입체음향을 구현하는 프로그램들이 외국에서 소개되고 있으나, 이들 제품들은 통합된 의미(방향감, 거리감, 공간감)의 입체음향을 구현하는 것이 아니라 잔향을 이용하는 공간감 생성에 국한되거나, 음상정위에 의한 방향감 생성에 국한되어 입체음향의 일부분 만을 생성하는 경우가 대부분이다. 따라서 순수한 소프트웨어만으로 구현된 하나의 프레임워크 내에서 통합된 의미의 2채널 방식의 입체음향을 생성하는 소프트웨어는 전무한 상태이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 GUI를 통해 3차원 공간상의 가상음원의 위치 및 이동 궤적과 가상공간(공간감)을 사용자가 지정하도록 사였으며, 위치 및 이동 정보의 입력은 시스템 정의 방식과 사용자 정의 방식으로 구분하여 각각 음상정위를 수행하도록 하였다. 또한 공간감을 위한 가상공간의 크기도 사용자가 임의로 정의할 수 있다. 입체음향으로 생성할 수 있는 GUI 환경을 제공하며, 저비용으로 효과적인 입체음향 컨텐트를 제작할 수 있도록 함으로써, 게임 및 멀티미디어 컨텐트 제작의 고부가가치화와 입체음향 기술의 산업화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
