The present study hypothesized that the double keyhole looped archwire plays a positive role for the sake of translatory movement and/or controlled tipping of upper 6 anteriors, and secures anchorage control as well. The purposes of the study were to evaluate the changes in lateral cephalograms during orthodontic treatment with DKHLs and to compare the skeletal & dental changes before- & after-treatment. The materials of this study were lateral cephalograms of 20 adult patients with upper dentoalveolar protrusion both in class I and in class II Division1 malocclusion. Lateral cephalograms were taken before and after orthodontic treatment with upper 1st bicuspid extraction and DKHLs. The results were obtained as follows : 1. There were no statistically significant differences in skeletal measurement except SNB and PTFH between before- & after-treatment. The major changes were in dentoalveolar region. 2. After treatment, there were statistically significant decrease in dental measurement except interincisal angle. 3. Both upper & lower lip protrusion was decreased. 4. There were statistically differences in upper anterior crown horizontal & root vertical dimension(7.08 ${\pm}$ 2.14 mm, 2.38 ${\pm}$ 1.15 mm, p<0.01). 5. There were statistically differences in upper posterior dental(both crown & root) horizontal dimension(2.48 ${\pm}$ 0.99 mm, 2.05 ${\pm}$ 0.91 mm, p<0.01).
Purpose: To determine if sparing the interspinous and supraspinous ligaments during posterior decompression for lumbar spinal stenosis is significant in preventing postoperative spinal instability. Materials and Methods: A total of 83 patients who underwent posterior decompression for lumbar spinal stenosis between March 2014 and March 2017 with a minimum one-year follow-up period, were studied retrospectively. The subjects were divided into two groups according to the type of surgery. Fifty-six patients who underwent posterior decompression by the port-hole technique were grouped as A, while 27 patients who underwent posterior decompression by a subtotal laminectomy grouped as B. To evaluate the clinical results, the Oswestry disability index (ODI), visual analogue scale (VAS) for both back pain (VAS-B) and radiating pain (VAS-R), and the walking distance of neurogenic intermittent claudication (NIC) were checked pre- and postoperatively, while simple radiographs of the lateral and flexion-extension view in the standing position were taken preoperatively and then every six months after to measure anteroposterior slippage (slip percentage), the difference in anteroposterior slippage between flexion and extension (dynamic slip percentage), angular displacement, and the difference in angular displacement between flexion and extension (dynamic angular displacement) to evaluate the radiological results. Results: The ODI (from 28.1 to 12.8 in group A, from 27.3 to 12.3 in group B), VAS-B (from 7.0 to 2.6 in group A, from 7.7 to 3.2 in group B), VAS-R (from 8.5 to 2.8 in group A, from 8.7 to 2.9 in group B), and walking distance of NIC (from 118.4 m to 1,496.2 m in group A, from 127.6 m to 1,481.6 m in group B) were improved in both groups. On the other hand, while the other radiologic results showed no differences, the dynamic angular displacement between both groups showed a significant difference postoperatively (group A from 6.2° to 6.7°, group B from 6.5° to 8.4°, p-value=0.019). Conclusion: Removal of the posterior ligaments, including the interspinous and supraspinous ligaments, during posterior decompression of lumbar spinal stenosis can cause a postoperative increase in dynamic angular displacement, which can be prevented by the port-hole technique, which spares these posterior ligaments.
Purpose: This article describes a double-bundle ACL reconstruction technique using a five-strand hamstring tendon autograft with conventional anteromedial bundle reconstruction and additional posterolateral bundle reconstruction. Operative technique: For the tibial tunnel, the conventional single tunnel technique is performed and for the femoral tunnel, the double tunnel technique is performed with the anteromedial and posterolateral bundle. After minimal notchplasty, the anteromedial femoral tunnel is prepared with leaving one milimeter of posterior femoral cortex within the over-the-top, which if positioned at the 11-o'clock orientation for the right knee or at the 1-o'clock position for the left knee. The posterolateral femoral tunnel that is located 5 to 7 mm superior to the inner margin of the lateral meniscus anterior horn at $90^{\circ}$ of flexion is prepared with tile outside-in technique using a 4.5 cannulated reamer. The graft material for the double bundle reconstruction is made of the conventional four-strand hamstring autograft in the anteromedial bundle and of a single-strand semitendinosus tendon in the posterolateral bundle. The anteromedial bundle is fixed with using a rigid fix system on the femoral side and the posterolateral bundle is fixed to tie with the miniplate from the outside femur. Then, with the knee in $10^{\circ}\;to\;20^{\circ}$ of flexion, a bioabsorbable screw is simultaneously applied to achieve tibial fixation with tensioning of both bundles. Conclusion: A double bundle reconstruction with five-strand hamstring autograft, which is designed with a favorable conventional anteromedial bundle and an additional posterolateral bundle to restore rotation stability, seems to be a very effective method for the treatment for ACL instabilities.
The goal of the present study was to evaluate the effects of PNAM appliance and cheiloplasty on alveolar molding. Samples consisted of 16 unilateral cleft lip and palate infants (10 males and 6 female, mean age=37.0 days after birth, average alveolar cleft gap=10.46m), who were treated with PNAM appliances by one orthodontist and rotation- advancement cheiloplasty by one surgeon in Seoul National University Hospital. Average duration of alveolar molding treatment was 13.10 weeks and these patients were recalled at average 8.31 weeks after cheiloplasty. These patients' models were obtained at initial visit (T0, mean age : $37.0\pm27.89$ days after birth), after successful alveolar molding (T1, mean age : $119.25\pm40.18$ days after birth), and after cheilopasty (T2, mean age : $190.81\pm42.78$ days after birth). Seven linear and five angular variables were measured using 1 : 1 photometry and soft ware program(V-ceph. Cybermed. Seoul, Korea). Paired t-test was performed to investigate statistical significance at p<0.05 level. 1 The posterior parts of alveolar segments were the stable structures during alveolar molding treatment period and after cheiloplasty in infants. 2. The closure of cleft gap during alveolar molding was usually due to backward bending of the whole part of the greater segment. 3. Although forward growth of the greater segment was hindered by alveolar molding, it resumed after cheiloplasty. 4. Increase of anterior inter-segment angle after cheiloplasty was due to the molding effect of the lip scar pressure.

Purpose: The clinical outcomes were investigated to determine if arthroscopic management is a useful method for 19 hips with iliopsoas tendon impingement (IPI) after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Materials and Methods: Eighteen patients (19 hips), who complained of groin pain and flexion pain that persisted after THA from September 2013 to December 2019, were the subjects of this investigation. The mean time to manifestation after THA was four months (range, 1-9 months) in patients of an average age of 60 years (range, 50-69 years). Thirteen out of 18 patients underwent THA using the direct anterior approach and five by the lateral approach. IPI was diagnosed by the medical history, physical examination, blood test, radiographic examination using X-ray and computed tomography, and topical injection therapy. All patients underwent arthroscopic treatment and a dynamic arthroscopic physical examination after exposure to the iliopsoas tendon revealed impingement. Tenotomy was then performed on the muscle portion through the total tendon portion. Symptoms and pain levels of preoperative, postoperative and follow-up period were investigated and compared. Results: The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index score decreased from an average of 58.4 (range, 40-88) before surgery to an average of 35.0 (range, 15-76) after surgery. Similarly, the visual analogue scale decreased from an average of 4.0 (range, 2-6) before surgery to an average of 1.4 (range, 0-4) after surgery. Sixteen patients (88.9%) showed pain relief and improvement in the straight leg raise test, and two patients showed postoperative muscle weakness and sustained pain. In the follow-up period, muscle weakness improved. One patient underwent arthroscopic iliopsoas tenotomy at the lesser trochanteric level but the symptoms persisted. The clinical symptoms were improved after one more tenotomy at the joint level. Conclusion: Arthroscopic iliopsoas tenotomy performed in patients with IPI after THA showed good clinical results.

InGaP epilayers were grown on the flat, $2^{\circ}$off, $6^{\circ}$ off, and $10^{\circ}$off GaAs substrates by organo-metallic vapor phase epitaxy, and influences of crystallographic misorientation of the substrate on the structural and optical properties such as lattice mismatch, elastic strain, lattice curvature, misfit stress, and PL intensity /line-width were investigated in this study. Material characterizations were carried out by TXRD( tripple-axis x-ray diffractometer) and low temperature (11K) PL (photoluminescence). With increase of the substrate misorientation angle (S.M.A.), the relative incorporation of Ga atoms on the substrate surface was found to be enhanced. Also, with increase of the S. M. A., the x-ray line-width of the InGaP epilayer was reduced, indicating that the crystal quality of the epilayer could be improved tilth a misoriented substrate. It was also found that the elastic accommodation of the strain-free lattice misfit was more remarkable in a misoriented sample. PL intensity increased, and PL line-width and emission wavelength decreased with the increase of S. M. A. The results conclude that the elastic characteristics and the crystal quality of the InGaP epilayer could be remarkably enhanced when the misoriented substrates were employed.

Red tide has caused massive fish kills in Korean coastal waters with devastating economic loss in the aquaculture industry since 1995. Remote sensing technique has shown to be effective for the detection of red tide in wide areas, where the absorption property of red tide water plays a central role in understanding the red tide reflectance. This study analyzed the optical absorption property of sea waters dominated by the dinoflagellate specie of Alexandirum affine, off the Tongyeong area in August, 2017. Water samples collected from 20 stations in the ship-based campaign were measured for absorption by pigment, suspended solid, and dissolved organic matter, with the corresponding water quality variables such as chlorophyll concentration and total suspended solid. The analysis showed that Alexandrium-dominated water exhibits strong absorption in the spectral range below 400 nm unlike that of diatom-dominated waters, and greater fluctuations in the range of 400 nm - 500 nm. The packaging effect in pigment absorption was stronger in Alexandrium-dominated waters, and the exponent in the absorption by detritus and gelbstoff is disparate for diatom and Alexandrium. In the model for the detritus and gelbstoff absorption (adg(λ)=adg(λ0)e-s(λ-λ0)), the optimal exponent coefficient(s) for the Alexandrium was close to 0.01 rather than to 0.015, which was commonly use for modelling diatom waters.
Isokinetic evaluation of trunk flexors and trunk extensors was performed at $60^{\circ}/sec\;and\;120^{\circ}/sec$ of angular velocity by using cybex 6000TEF Unit on 31 healthy male white workers and 15 post-operative HILD patients with no significant difference in mean age and mean body weight between two groups, and compared each other. The purpose of this study is to obtain the isokinetic normative strength values and endurance latins for Dunk extensors and trunk flexors, and is to provide a guideline for rehabilitation program of post-operative HILD patients. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA, Duncan's Nyktuoke Range Test, and Pearson correlation coefficiency in PC-SAS program, The results obtained were as follow ; 1. Post-operative subjects has lower isokinetic values than normal subjects in peak torque, peak torque $\%$ by body weight, total work, total work $\%$ by body weight, average power, average power $\%$ by body weight, TAAE of trunk flexors and trunk extensors, and there are significant differences with statistic value in trunk extensors at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and in trunk flexors and trunk extensors at $120^{\circ}/sec$ between two groups(p<0.05). 2. Pest-ooperative subjects has lower values for angle of peak torque than normal subjects in trunk extensors, and there are significant differences with statistic value at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and $120^{\circ}/sec$ between two groups. 3. Post-operative subjects has higher values for endurance ratios than normal subjects in trunk extensors and flexors, but there are no significant differences with statistic value between two groups. 4. Post-operative subjects has higher values than normal subjects in peak torque ratios, total work ratios, average power ratios of trunk flexors to trunk extensors, and there are significant differences with statistic value between two groups(p<0.01). 5. There is significant positive-correlation with statistic valve between peak torque and height and body weight in normal subjects(p<0.05), but Thjere is significant negative-correlation between peak torque of trunk extensor at $120^{\circ}/sec$ and age (p<0.05). 6. There is significant positive-correlation with statistic value between peak torque of trunk flexors and body weight in post-operative subjects (p<0.05), but There is significant negative-correlation between peak torque of trunk extensor add age (p<0.05). In conclusion, post-operative subjects have greater weakness in trunk musculature than normal subjects, especially there is more significant weakness in trunk extensors than in trunk flexors
An algorithm is developed to derive a representative I hr-unit hydrograph through an analysis of rainfall-runoff relations of a watershed as a closed system. For the base flow seperation of a flood hydrograph the multi-deflection method is proposed herein, which gace better results compared with those by the existing empirical methods. A modified $\Phi$index method is also proposed in this stidy to determine the time distribution rainfall excess of a rainstorm, which is essetially a modification of the commonly used $\Phi$index method of rainfall seperation. With the so-obtained rainfall excess hyetograph and the direct runoff hydrograph a trial and error computation of the ordinates of 1 hr-unit hydrograph was executed in such a manner that the synthesized flood hydrograph closely approximates the observed one, thus resulting a unit hydrograph of a piecewise exponential function type. To verify the validity of this study the 1 hr-unit hydrographs for the Imha and Dongchon in Nagdong River basin, and Yongdam in Geum River basin were derived by this algorithm, and the results were compared with those by the conventional synthetic unit hydrograph method and the Nakayasu method. Besides, the validity of this stiudy was also tested by comparing the observed hydrograph with the one computed by applying the unit hydrograph to a specific rainfall event. To generalize the result of this study a computer program, consisited of a main and three subprograns (for rainfall excess estimation, convolution summation, and sorting), is developed as a package, which is believed to be applicable to other watersheds for the similar purpose as those in this study.
In this study, a comparison was made between the resulting behaviors of scaled model test and particle flow analysis for blasting demolition of a reinforced concrete structure. For the test and analysis, a progressive failure of a five-story structure was considered. The dimension analysis was carried out to properly scale down the real structure into the laboratory size. The test model was made of the mixture of gypsum, sand and water along with soldering lead to analogy reinforcing steel bars. The ratio of mixing components was chosen to best represent the scaled down strength and deformation modulus. The columns and girders of the structure were precasted in the laboratory and assembled right before the blasting test. The numerical analysis of the blasting demolition was carried out using PFC2D (Particle Flow Analysis 2-Dimension by Itasca). The results of the blasting of concrete lahmen structure showed roughly identical demolition behavior between scaled model test and numerical test. For the blasting of the reinforced concrete structure, the results were more identical and closer to the real demolition behavior, since the demolition behavior was better represented in this case due to the increased tensile strength of the component.
