The carbonation of self-consolidating concrete using lightweight aggregate (경량골재를 사용한 자기충전 콘크리트의 탄산화)

  • This paper presents the development of lightweight aggregate self-consolidating concrete using lightweight aggregates. Lightweight concrete is known for its advantage of reducing the self-weight of the structures, reducing the areas of sectional members as well as making the construction convenient. Thus the construction cost can be saved when applied to structures such as long-span bridge and high rise building. Therefore experimental tests were performed as such mechanical properties and carbonation of self-consolidating concrete using lightweight aggregates.

  • Lately, among concrete component used in construction works, the aggregate is the most important material because it hold about 70~80 Vo1% of most structural materials. Considering that the demand of aggregate is on the continuous increase in the construction works year after year, it is a very urgent thing to develop a substitute aggregate for river aggregate. This paper, an experimental study on the effect of corrosion protection by tighting concrete used fly-ash and silica fume, is to investigate workability and engineering properties of concrete used fly-ash and silica fume. As a test results, contrary to SF, workability of concrete used FA is inclined to be improved. And in the case of containing SF, the compressive strength containing admixtures is higher than plain concrete with increasing curing age.

  • For the purpose of improving the strength of Concrete, Silica Fume which has $SiO_2$ content of 90% and average particle diameter of $0.2{\mu}m$ was substituted to some extent as a cementious material of concrete. By means of using high range water reducing admixture and reducing water-cementions material ratio, the high strength mortar and concrete which have compressive strength of $865kg/cm^2$, $725kg/cm^2$, respectively were acquired. But the fact that the slump loss according to elapsed time was high and the tensile strength and elastic modulus were not improved sufficiently was the problem to be solved.

  • In our standard specification, the specific provision of steel fiber pavement concrete didn't describe yet. The purpose of this study presents criteria of recycled aggregate steel fiber pavement concrete including standard crushed stone steel fiber pavement concrete. This study examined a lot of factors which influence consistency of SFRC(Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete) including crush stone and recycled aggregate. According to this examination, this study decided optimum S/α and W which are essential to pavement concrete mix proportion. Come to the conclusion, this study is expected to effect economically in recycling of resources and bring to affirmative result in aspect of environment.

  • The effect of superplasticizing agents on the sorkability performance in fresh concrete have been analyzed and investigated under various mix proportions of water cement ratio of 0.40, 0.50, 0.60 and 0.70, superplasticizing agents of NL-4000 and Rheobuild-716, and addition rate of sp. agents of 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 in the practical range. It is the aim of this study to provide the fundamental data on the fluidity performance and workability improvement of superplasticized concrete such as time-dependent change of slump, flow value and compacting factor, air content, bleeding, mixing temperature and setting rate of fresh concrete comparing with base concrete and conventional concrete for the practical use and research data accumulation of superplasticized concrete in the side of development of concrete construction technology and management.

  • Although bonding material content of the high strength flowing concrete is very important in engineering properties, in rich mix concrete increasing the bonding material content may not follow more good properties. This study is to investigate the influence of the bonding material content affecting on the engineering properties of high strength flowing concrete, and this paper is to analyze the properties of fresh concrete. The results reveal that concrete of less bonding material content has about the same good consistency as concrete of more bonding material content, and that the evaluation methods of workability have to change in high strength flowing concrete.

  • The study of recycled aggregate concrete in which demolition waste is utilized to produce aggregate for new concrete, can contribute to the solution of two problems. The first is the shortage of aggregate from river, and the second is the waste disposal problem. In comparison with natural aggregate concrete, recycled aggregate concrete shows reductions in compressive strength, tensile strength , vending strength, shear strength and increases in drying shrinkage and creep. Recycled aggregate concrete may also be less durable due to increase in porosity and permeability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the applicability of recycled concrete in the influence of a substitute ratio of recycled sand gravel.

  • This study is aimed for analyzing the effect on replacing change of fly ash and silica fume of high performance concrete. From the results, the flowability is good when the replacing rate of fly ash increases. The placeability is best in the ratio of 15 to 5 ; F.A:S.F and the segregation-resistibility is appeared good when the replacing ratio of silica fume increases.

  • In this study, air meter method and capacitance measurement method to apply economically at quality control of ready-mixed concrete among various unit water content measurement technique was selected. Then, it was evaluated estimating performance of unit water content according to the change of water-binder ratio and unit water content. Also, it was examined influence about error occurrence of unit water content by change of properties of used materials. Finally, based on this study, it was proposed fundamental data to utilize measurement technique of unit water content to quality control. of ready-mixed concrete in construction field.

Properties of Fresh Concrete with Recycled fine Aggregates (순환잔골재를 사용한 굳지 않은 콘크리트의 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the properties of fresh concrete with recycled fine aggregates. Three different kinds of fine aggregate with natural, high and low quality recycled aggregates were prepared. The concrete mixtures were produced with test parameters of replacement ratio of recycled fine aggregate. The properties of the fresh concrete were measured by means of slump and air content according to elapsed time. Quality control method to maintain the constant total mixing water for recycled aggregate concrete was suggested. The all concrete mixtures were produced with approximately the same slump on the job site after an hour. Test results indicated that compressive strength of the concrete mixtures with constant slump is not affected by the replacement ratio of recycled fine aggregate. Therefore, the practical way for the quality control of recycled aggregate concrete is to maintain the constant total mixing water.
