Prediction Model of the Sound Transmission Loss of Honeycomb Panels for Railway Vehicles (철도차량용 허니콤재의 차음성능 예측모델)

  • Sound transmission characteristics are investigated on the honeycomb panels used for railway vehicles. Equivalent orthotropic plate model and equivalent mass law are applied to predict the sound transmission loss (STL) of the honeycomb panels. The predicted values of the STL are compared with the measured values. The reliability and the limitation of the prediction models are investigated. Coincidence effect and local resonance effect on STL are considered. The result of the study shows that the equivalent orthotropic plate model can be used as a good prediction model, if the local resonance frequency is properly applied. finally, ways to improve the severe STL drop by local resonance are proposed and the effect on the sound insulation performance is analysed.

Improvement Effect of the Sound Insulation Performance of the Corrugated Steel Panel by Sound Absorbing and Damping Materials (흡음 및 댐핑재 의한 주름강판의 차음성능 개선효과)

  • In the corrugated steel panels used for railway vehicles, sound insulation performance is significantly deteriorated by local resonance effect. In this study, as a countermeasure, polyurethane foam is filled in the corrugated steel panel and glass wool layer is inserted in the layered floor panel, and then improvement effect of the sound insulation performance is experimentally estimated. Based on ASTM E2249-02, intensity transmission loss is measured and estimated on the corrugated panel and floor structure. The aim of the study is to identify how the foam filling and inserting glass wool layer improve the sound insulation performance of the train body structure in aspect of the weight increment.

  • Aluminum extruded panels are widely used instead of corrugated steel panels for weight reduction in high-speed trains. Of the layers in the train body, it makes the largest contribution to the sound insulation. However, compared with that of a flat panel with the same weight, the TL of the aluminum extruded panel is remarkably lower in the local resonance frequency band. We study aluminum extruded panels for next-generation 400-km/h trains. We investigate the problem of sound insulation and propose a practical method to improve the sound-insulation performance. The local resonance frequency region is increased by a modification of the core structure, and urethane foam is placed in the core. The effect on the sound insulation is verified by experiments. Finally, the improvement for the entire sound-transmission loss is estimated for the layered floor panels of express trains.

Formation of Au-ZnS Core-Shell nanoparticles using physical vapor deposition and their surface plasmon resonance properties (물리기상증착법에 의한 Au-ZnS 코어-쉘 나노입자 형성 및 표면 플라즈몬 공진특성)

  • 금속:유전체 나노복합체 박막에서 발현되는 국소 표면 플라즈몬 공진특성을 효과적으로 제어하기 위해 코어-쉘 구조를 갖는 나노입자 형성 공정이 물리기상증착법을 이용하여 시도되었다. 선택적 증착 현상에 착안하여 Au와 강한 결합력을 나타내는 sulphur를 포함하는 ZnS 반도체 재료를 모델시스템으로 선정하였다. 교번증착법의 상대적 순서를 변화시켜 가며 Au입자 및 Au-ZnS 코어-쉘 입자의 형성거동을 광흡수 곡선과 TEM 분석을 통해 관찰하였다. Au단일입자에 비해 Au-ZnS 코어-쉘 나노입자는 ZnS 층의 상대적 두께조절에 의해 공진파장의 광범위한 제어가 용이해지고 국부전기장 증폭현상도 강화되는 것으로 확인되었다.

세탁기 브레이크 밴드소음 고장분석 사례

  • 세탁기의 Shaft Ass'y는 모터로부터 동력을 전달 받아 세탁 및 탈수행정의 제어 기능을 수행하는 세탁기의 핵심부품으로 사용 중 브레이크 밴드소음을 유발하여 소비자의 불만족 요소로 작용하고 있다. 그러나 드럼과 브레이크 페드의 정확한 마찰소음 현상 규명이 안되어 불량 개선에 많은 어려움이 있다. 이를 해결하고자 소음, 진동, 소재 분석 및 ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) 분석을 통해 고장원인을 규명하였다. 특히 ESPI는 비접촉, Full Field 정밀 변형 가시화 장치로 Shaft Ass'y의 동작 중 공진소음 발생 부위를 변형 가시화를 통해 정확하게 찾을 수 있었다. 밴드소음 원인은 브레이크 Lever의 공진에 의해 발생하였고 브레이크 밴드 패드의 접촉면적 불균일로 인한 국부적 마찰력 증대가 소음원으로 작용하였다. 밴드소음의 정확한 고장 메커니즘 규명을 통해 개선안을 도출하여 적용하였고 밴드소음 개선효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

A Study on Design and Fabrication on X-Band Oscillator for radar system (레이더 시스템용 X-Band 발진기의 설계 및 제작에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, A X-band voltage-controlled hair-pin resonator oscillator(VCHRO) is able to a local oscillator or a signal source in transmitter/receiver of a microwave communication system for mobile radar, is designed and fabricated In order to apply mobile radar system is used the hair-pin resonator stronger on shock or vibration than the dielectric resonator, and also, in order to improvement the phase noise and output power is used a system of serial feedback format A hair-pin resonator was simulated by momentum method of HP ADS and then a oscillator circuit was designed that operates at 10.525 GHz by nonlinear method in harmonic balance simulation. The HRO generated output power of 6.93 dBm at 10.525 GHz, phase noise of -57.74 dBc at 100 kHz offset from carrier and the 2'nd harmonic was suppressed -23.90 dBc.

Sound-Insulation Performance of Aluminum Extruded Panel by Charging Foam in a High-speed Train (고속철도차량용 알루미늄 압출재의 차음성능에 대한 폼 충전효과)

  • The aluminum extruded panel used for a high speed train shows the largest contribution to sound insulation performance of the train body. However, comparing with the flat panel having the same weight, the transmission loss falls sharply in the local resonance frequency band. Such fall of transmission loss can be improved by increasing the damping of local resonance. This study examines the charging effect of an urethane foam on the aluminum extruded panel of a high speed train. We charged the urethane foam with different mass density and in different way in the core part of the extruded panel. We measure the transmission loss and compare the sound insulation performance according to the density and charging method. Finally, Improvement effect of the transmission loss is compared and analysed in aspect of weight increment.

  • 금(Au)이나 은(Ag)과 같은 귀금속 물질로 형성된 금속 나노 구조체는 표면 플라즈몬 공진(Surface Plasmon Resonance, SPR) 현상과 이의 국부 환경(local environment) 변화에 대해 민감한 의존성으로 인하여 생화학적 센서로의 응용이 주목 받고 있다. 표면 플라즈몬 공진은 광 흡수와 광 산란을 수반하는데, 두 가지 특성 모두 분광학적 신호검출방식으로 센서에 응용가능하다. 이 중 광 산란을 이용하는 방식은 광원의 배경잡음 효과가 배제되기 때문에 단일 입자 검출에 유리하다. 광 흡수와 광 산란 특성은 금속 나노 구조체는 크기, 형상, 주변 매질, 물질의 선택에 따라서 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 금 나노 디스크(nanodisc)의 형상에 따라서 여기 되는 표면 플라즈몬이 광 흡수와 광 산란 특성에 미치는 영향을 가시광과 근적외선 영역에 대해서 불연속 쌍극자 근사법(Discrete Dipole Approximation, DDA)을 이용하여 전사모사(simulation) 하였다. 금 나노 디스크의 형상과 플라즈몬 특성 간의 관계는 공명 파장과 산란 양자 거둠율(scattering quantum yield, $\eta$)을 이용하여 분석하였고, 센서로서의 응용을 가늠하기 위해 주변 매질의 굴절률을 조절하여 그에 따른 민감도(sensitivity )를 비교하였다. 나노 디스크의 모양이 판상에 가까워질수록 공명 파장은 적색 편이하였고 광 산란 효율과 민감도는 증가하는 현상이 나타났다. 또한, 산란 양자 거둠율은 증가하다가 완만하게 감소하는 경향이 나타났다.

Implementation of Down Converter for Ku-Band Application (Ku 대역용 주파수변환기의 구현)

  • This paper discusses the design of self-oscillating mixer type low noise down converter using the microwave field effect transistor. The mixer is consists of local oscillator in which high stability dielectric resonator and band pass filter to get rid of spurious oscillation at intermediate frequency stage. The microstrip antenna was integrated in the same substrate which generate 12.3GHz and low noise amplifier was also added after antenna using 3 stage of high electron mobility transistors. The output frequency from the local oscillator was chosen as 11.3GHz for the Ku-band application. The measured phase noise was -804dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset frequency, and the gain was 7~12dB in frequency range from 12.0GHz to 12.7GHz. The noise figure at intermediate frequency stage was 64H. The designed model shows less conversion loss than previous diode type mixer. The proposed mixer can be used in digital satellite broadcasting and communication system and expected to use in next generation low noise block design.

A Study on the Self-Excited Mixing effect of IMPATT Diodes (IMPATT 다이오드의 백여혼합에 관한 연구)

  • Theoretical analysis is carried out for the beat frequency generation phenomena in the IMPATT diodes an4 the experimental studies are given in parrallel. The theory is based on the space charge modulation effect introduced to the multiplication process by the input signal. Computed results show that the beat frequency output power is linearly dependent upon the signal power and self oscillating power. Also the strong dependence of the output power with respect to the diode negative resistance is found and it turns out that the larger the negative resistance, the stronger the beat frequency output power. Experimental results show a good agreement with the theoretical values. Calculated conversion gain is about -0.4[db] at 10[GHz] and the experimental value shows -6.2[db] below this value. This difference between the theoretical and the experimental values is considered to be the results of the ineffective injection of signal power.
