미국과 캐나다의 국방도시

  • 지난 2003년 9월 13일 "전원.문화.국방의 모범도시"를 표방하면서 우리 지역의 숙원인 계룡시 승격이 이루어진 이후, 본원에서는 "계룡시정 발전방향 및 비전수립 연구프로젝트" 수행과 관련하여 북미지역 (미국.캐나다)의 명성 높은 국방도시에 대한 벤치마킹을 추진하였다. 여기서는 계룡시 발전전략에 적용 가능한 특징적 모습들을 일부 소개하고자 한다.

레일건 가속특성 분석 (Analysis of Acceleration Characteristics of a Railgun)

  • To accelerate a launch mass with a low level of pressure as possible in a railgun, it is required to hold supplied current nearly constant during launch phase. We obtained the discharging conditions for required current shaping by modeling and analysis of circuit equations coupled to acceleration equation of the launch mass. The acceleration characteristics of the railgun in the conditions were analyzed by comparing experimental and theoretical results.

2,000lb급 장착물의 분리분석을 위한 지상투하시험 (Static Ejection Test for Separation Analysis of 2,000lb-Class Store)

  • Static ejection tests were conducted using the 2,000lb-Class Store to provide ejector model for the store separation simulation. In this study, static ejection test device for 2,000lb-class store was constructed and reaction force applied to store was measured over time. In addition, the trajectories of the ejected store were obtained using photogrammetry and compared with the simulations using developed ejector model. The results of the static ejection test were analyzed to determine the cartridge-orifice combination to be used for store separation. Flight tests were performed by applying the analysis results and verified that the store was safely separated from the aircraft.

무인기 상호운용시스템에서 실용적인 데이터링크 설계방안 연구 (Study on Practical Design of Datalink in Interoperable UAV Systems)

  • Uumanned aerial vehicle(UAV) systems have been used in various fields including industry and military. According to increasing the number of UAVs, the attention on interoperable UAV systems is increasing. In this paper, we propose the practical design of datalink in interoperable UAV systems. For practical design, we firstly review the operational scenarios in the interoperable UAV system. We then propose the system model of the datalink in interoperable UAV system. Consequently, the technical components such as the design of the network, the link management, the support of the multicast transmission, the support for autonomous mission and flight safety, and the datalink security are derived and reviewed for the practical design.

군용물체탐지 연구를 위한 가상 이미지 데이터 생성 (Synthetic Image Generation for Military Vehicle Detection)

  • This research paper investigates the effectiveness of using computer graphics(CG) based synthetic data for deep learning in military vehicle detection. In particular, we explore the use of synthetic image generation techniques to train deep neural networks for object detection tasks. Our approach involves the generation of a large dataset of synthetic images of military vehicles, which is then used to train a deep learning model. The resulting model is then evaluated on real-world images to measure its effectiveness. Our experimental results show that synthetic training data alone can achieve effective results in object detection. Our findings demonstrate the potential of CG-based synthetic data for deep learning and suggest its value as a tool for training models in a variety of applications, including military vehicle detection.

  • 최근 북한의 미사일 발사시험과 이를 둘러싼 주변국들간의 군사력 강화 움직임이 한반도의 안보에 심각한 위협요소가 되면서 다시금 자주 국방의 필요성에 대한 경각심이 고취되고 있다. 국방기술의 첨단화는 과학기술의 발명에 전적으로 의존하여 향후 국가간 국방과학기술로서 기술력 우위 확보를 위한 치열한 경쟁이 가속화 될 것이다. 이에 우리나라도 미래지향적인 국방기술의 중점육성분야를 분류하고 분야별 해당하는 무기체계와 핵심기술의 기술지도를 주축하여 장기간에 걸친 국방연구개발계획의 실행을 지속해오고 있다. 향후 선진국과의 기술격차도 해소하고 나아가 기술우위를 점하게 되면 자주국방이 가능하게 되고 기술력의 수출까지 가능해질 것이다. 본 고에서는 국내 국방 무기체계 및 특히 국방전자 분야의 기술과 개발 동향에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

화생방 보고관리 및 모델링 S/W 시스템(NBC_RAMS)의 라그랑지안 퍼프 및 입자 모델에 따른 화학작용제 이송·확산 분석 (A Study on Transport and Dispersion of Chemical Agent According to Lagrangian Puff and Particle Models in NBC_RAMS)

  • This research mainly focuses on the transport and dispersion of chemical agent plume according to the Lagrangian Puff Model and Lagrangian Particle Model of NBC_RAMS(Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reporting And Modeling S/W System). NBC_RAMS was developed with the purposes of estimating the fate of Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive(CBR) agent plumes and evaluating damages in the Republic of Korea. First, it calculates the local weather pattern, i.e. wind speed, wind direction, and temperature, by considering the effects of land uses and topography. The plume behaviors are calculated by adopting the Lagrangian Puff Model(LPFM) or Lagrangian Particle Model(LPTM). In this research, we assumed a virtual chemical agent exposure event in a stable atmospheric condition during the summer season. The plume behaviors were estimated by both LPFM and LPTM on the used area(urbanized and dry area) and the agricultural land. The higher heat flux in the used area led to stronger winds and further downward movement moving of the chemical agent than the farmland. The lateral dispersion of the chemical plume was emphasized in the Lagrangian Puff Model because it adopted Gaussian distribution.
