Relationship between Dielectric Constant and Increament of Si-O bond in SiOC Film (SiOC 박막에서 Si-O 결합의 증가와 유전상수의 관계)

  • SiOC films made by the inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition were researched the relationship between the dielectric constant and the chemical shift. SiOC film obtained by plasma method had the main Si-O-C bond with the molecule vibration mode in the range of $930{\sim}1230\;cm^{-1}$ which consists of C-O and Si-O bonds related to the cross link formation according to the dissociation and recombination. The C-O bond originated from the elongation effect by the neighboring highly electron negative oxygen atoms at terminal C-H bond in Si-$CH_3$ of $1270cm^{-1}$. However, the Si-O bond was formed from the second ionic sites recombined after the dissociation of Si-$CH_3$ of $1270cm^{-1}$. The increase of the Si-O bond induced the redshift as the shift of peak in FTIR spectra because of the increase of right shoulder in main bond. These results mean that SiOC films become more stable and stronger than SiOC film with dominant C-O bond. So it was researched that the roughness was also decreased due to the high degree of amorphous structure at SiOC film with the redshift after annealing.

Study on compatibility of cellulose ester/poly(ethylene-co-isosorbide terephthalate) solution blends (셀룰로오스 에스터와 Poly(ethylene-co-isosorbide terephthalate) 용액 블렌드의 상용성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, Importance of studying based on biomass materials have increased due to the concern about plastic waste problems. Cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) is a potential alternative to petroleum-based plastics because of its biodegradable property. Poly(ethylene-co-isosorbide terephthalate) (PEIT) is bio-based plastic, produced by isosorbide monomer. In this study, CAB/PEIT blends were prepared by solution blending to improve thermal stability of CAB. CAB and PEIT were dissolved in chloroform, and then precipitated in ethanol. To evaluate the compatibility of CAB/PEIT blends, the morphology and glass transition behaviors were analyzed by FE-SEM and DMA, respectively. TGA results revealed the improved thermal stabilities of the PEIT-rich and 50:50 compositions. No new or changed crystal structures were observed in the XRD result. Finally, CAB/PEIT solution blends showed good compatibility in overall compositions.

An Enhanced Counterpropagation Algorithm for Effective Pattern Recognition (효과적인 패턴 인식을 위한 개선된 Counterpropagation 알고리즘)

  • The Counterpropagation algorithm(CP) is a combination of Kohonen competition network as a hidden layer and the outstar structure of Grossberg as an output layer. CP has been used in many real applications for pattern matching, classification, data compression and statistical analysis since its learning speed is faster than other network models. However, due to the Kohonen layer's winner-takes-all strategy, it often causes instable learning and/or incorrect pattern classification when patterns are relatively diverse. Also, it is often criticized by the sensitivity of performance on the learning rate. In this paper, we propose an enhanced CP that has multiple Kohonen layers and dynamic controlling facility of learning rate using the frequency of winner neurons and the difference between input vector and the representative of winner neurons for stable learning and momentum learning for controlling weights of output links. A real world application experiment - pattern recognition from passport information - is designed for the performance evaluation of this enhanced CP and it shows that our proposed algorithm improves the conventional CP in learning and recognition performance.

  • 하천의 수위와 유량 등의 수리량 자료는 치수, 이수, 환경 등에 관한 하천 계획과 관리의 기초자료로 활용된다. 따라서 체계적인 하천 관리를 위해서는 신뢰성 있는 하천 수리량 자료의 확보가 요구된다. 이에 따라 우리나라에서는 많은 하천에 수위 관측소를 설치하여 실시간 수위를 측정하고 있다. 하지만 유량의 측정은 국가하천 등 주요 대규모 하천에 국한되어 있는 실정이다. 반면에 우리나라 대부분의 홍수 피해는 중 소하천에서 발생하고 있지만, 중 소하천에 대한 수문조사는 상대적으로 매우 미진한 실정이다. 이러한 중 소하천에 대한 수리 정보 조사의 가장 큰 어려움은 대부분의 중 소하천이 지방자치단체에서 관리하고 있어 예산과 인력 지원이 어렵기 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 중 소하천에 산재한 보와 같은 하천 횡단 구조물의 유량 측정 기능을 이용하고, 급성장하고 있는 영상 분석 기술과 IT를 하천공학 분야에 접목하여 중 소하천의 수리 정보를 저비용, 실시간으로 원격 측정하는 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구에서는 저가형 영상 장비를 이용하여 하천 횡단구조물 주변의 흐름 영상을 원격으로 확보하고, 해당 영상을 데이터베이스로 송신하는 장치인 WIA 시스템(wireless image acquisition system)을 개발하였다. 그리고 촬영된 영상을 분석하여 수위를 도출하는 영상 분석 프로그램, 수위-유량 관계 곡선(rating curve), 미계측 지점에 대한 하천 수리 정보를 계산하기 위한 HEC-RAS를 포함하는 River-HQ 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 WIA & River-HQ 시스템은 한국건설기술연구원 하천실험센터 내 직선 수로(실규모 하천) 구간에 대하여 정확성이 검증되었다. 이러한 WIA & River-HQ 시스템은 실제 하천에 대한 적용성과 안정성 검토를 통해 향후 중 소하천의 환경 관리와 홍수예경보 업무 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Determination of the Optimal Location of Baffle Blocks in the Sluice Gate (하단방류형 가동보 감세블록의 최적 위치 선정)

  • 감세블록(baffle block)은 고속의 흐름에서 도수를 유도함으로써 과도한 에너지를 감세시키는 역할을 하는 구조물이며 구조물의 크기, 형태, 위치, 조합 등의 변수로 도수가 형성되는 조건을 조절하여 흐름에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 하단방류형 가동보에서 고속으로 방류되는 흐름의 Froude 수가 2.5에서 4.5 사이일 경우 발생하는 불규칙한 주기의 진동이 중첩 보강되면 감세하기 어려운 파동을 형성하여 수 Km 동안 지속될 수 있어 추가적인 조치가 필요하다(Peterka, 1984). 이 연구에서는 총 연장 11m, 폭 0.5m의 구형수로에 하단방류형 가동보와 감세블럭을 설치하여 감세블록의 위치가 에너지의 감세에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 감세블록의 최적 위치를 제안하였다. 감세블럭은 높이 2cm, 폭 5cm의 구형단면으로 제작하여 일정한 간격으로 치형 배열하였으며, 가동보로 부터 5.5~8.5cm 지점에서 1cm간격으로 총 5가지 조건으로 수리실험을 수행하였다. 또한, 수문 하단에서의 Froude 수가 3.8~3.9를 만족하는 강한 도수가 발생할 수 있도록 유량을 조절 하였고, 유속과 수심은 3차원 유속계와 피에조미터를 이용하여 가동보로부터 0.2m간격으로 하류단 2m 지점까지 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 가동보로부터 도수가 발생하여 수위가 안정되는 지점까지의 도수길이는 감세블록을 설치한 경우, 설치하기 전의 1.1m와 비교하여 최소 27.3%에서 최대 81.8%만큼 짧아졌으며 감세블록 보에 가깝게 설치될수록 도수길이는 단축되는 것으로 나타났다. 가동보 하류부에서 도수가 발생한 이후 수심이 안정화되는 1m 지점에서, 도수 전후의 비에너지비로 정의되는 도수효율은 감세블록 미설치 시 74.9%이고, 감세블록이 설치된 조건에서는 54.9~60.6%로 감세블록에 의한 에너지 감소효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 에너지 감세 효과가 가장 큰 감세블록 위치는 가동보로부터 6.5cm 떨어진 곳으로 하류단 수심의 약 80%에 해당하는 지점이 감세블록의 최적 위치인 것으로 판단된다.

Simulation of Sustainable Co-evolving Predator-Prey System Controlled by Neural Network

  • Artificial life is used in various fields of applied science by evaluating natural life-related systems, their processes, and evolution. Research has been actively conducted to evolve physical body design and behavioral control strategies for the dynamic activities of these artificial life forms. However, since co-evolution of shapes and neural networks is difficult, artificial life with optimized movements has only one movement in one form and most do not consider the environmental conditions around it. In this paper, artificial life that co-evolve bodies and neural networks using predator-prey models have environmental adaptive movements. The predator-prey hierarchy is then extended to the top-level predator, medium predator, prey three stages to determine the stability of the simulation according to initial population density and correlate between body evolution and population dynamics.

The Effects of Housing Poverty on the Depression of the Elderly: The Mediating Effect of Social Service (노년기 주거빈곤이 우울에 미치는 영향: 사회서비스의 매개효과)

  • The study looked into the effect of housing poverty on the depression level for the elderly in depth. In this study, we defined housing poverty as sub-minimum standard housing conditions, excess housing expenditure and housing instability. In order to verify the correlation of two variables, a mediating model structured by social welfare service was used which gave out the 4th Korea welfare panel data. When it came to our research methods, structured equation analysis was applied to verify the mediating effect and theoretical background. The results revealed that housing poverty of the elderly directly affected their depression level. Also the satisfaction of social service showed a partial mediating effect between housing poverty and depression level. But the mediating effect of social service experience between housing poverty and depression level was not statistically significant. The outcome of this study indicated the practical and social intervention to promote a mental health of the elderly by improving residential environment.

Design of adhesive wireless bookbinding machine with optimal motor control and automatic cover insertion (최적의 모터 제어 및 겉표지 자동 투입 기능을 적용한 접착식 무선 제본기 설계)

  • An adhesive wireless bookbinding machine was designed with optimal motor control and automatic cover insertion for bookbinding. The noise level was improved by modifying the thrust of the machine and changing from a compressor method to an AC induction motor control method. The automatic cover insertion function was added to improve the task speed. Motor and decelerator damage can be caused by sudden braking and acceleration of the motor rotation (clockwise and counter-clockwise), so a buffer-type locational control system was developed to secure stable movement and durability. The complicated internal design was also simplified, and the volume and weight were decreased. The results show that the noise was decreased by 57% from 135 dB to 71.7 dB, and the task speed was decreased by 57% from 18 s to 9.58 s. The automatic cover insertion was designed to supply a maximum of 130 sheets per supply.

Determination of Walking Direction for Guidance of the Blind (시각장애인 보행 안내를 위한 진행 방향 판단 기법)

  • Braille guide block of sidewalk is an essential facility for independent walking of the blind. The blind walks while checking the braile guide blocks with white cane and sense of sole. When they leave the braile area, they face difficulties until they find the braile guide blocks again. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that guides the walking of the blind by determining whether they follows the braille guide blocks safely. For this purpose, the slope of the braille block is selected as a feature and a 3-line detector is introduced. Also the slopes are stabilized using spatial filtering to deal with breaks or junctions of the braille block during the progress and temporal filtering to cope with ego-motion of the blind. Through simulations using a dataset obtained from the real sidewalks and indoors, it can be shown that the proposed algorithm can successfully estimate the walking direction and determine whether the blind is out of the braille guide block area.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) technology, a key growth engine of the 4th industrial revolution, has grown to a stage where it can autonomously communicate with each other and process data according to space and circumstances. Accordingly, the IT infrastructure becomes increasingly complex and the importance of the monitoring field for maintaining the system stably is increasing. Monitoring technology has been used in the past, but there is a need to find a flexible monitoring system that can respond to the rapidly changing ICT technology. This paper conducts research on designing and testing an open source-based Prometheus monitoring system. We builds a simple infrastructure based on IoT devices and collects data about devices through the Exporter. Prometheus collects data based on pull and then integrates into one dashboard using Grafana and visualizes data to monitor device information.
