Examining the Equality of Multi-Outlet Flow Rates within a Dual Open Channel (이중 수로 구조의 분배수로 내 다지점 유출 유량의 균등성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to qualify the equality of the flow distribution from open channel between rapid mixing basin and flocculation basins in a domestic S_ water treatment plant, and to suggest a remedy for improving the equality. In order to evaluate the feasibility of the suggested remedy, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique are used, and for verifying the CFD simulation results tracer tests were carried out. From the results of CFD simulation and tracer tests, it was investigated that the modification of hydraulic structure in the distribution channel, which is to install the longitudinal orifice baffle in flow direction, could improve the equality of the flow distribution over 75%.

Structural Design and Economical Assessment of Double Hull Bulk Carrier (이중선체 벌크 캐리어의 선체 구조설계 및 경제성 검토)

  • After many casualties with conventional bulk carriers in recent years, double hull bulk carrier was proposed ta enhance the structural safety of side shell and transverse bulkhead. In this paper, two alternative structural designs of double hull bulk camel were executed based an the Lloyd's rule, and the results were examined in comparison with the existing single hull bulk carrier in the viewpoints of the increase of weight and construction cost. The relative construction concept was used to certify the economical validity of double hull bulk carrier.

  • Dual fuel engines are suitable for stricter regulations as they significantly decrease exhaust gas output. Hence, research and development of double wall bellows for dual fuel engines is important. In this study, optimum forming methods and welding conditions were derived to develop double wall bellows made of austenite stainless steel. The reliability of the prototypes was ensured by various performance evaluations. In this study, the buckling load and bellows stress were obtained by structural design, buckling, and stress analysis to design optimum bellows. As a result, the buckling load in the embossing shape of bellows increased by approximately 1.6 times, and no buckling and squirming occurred at 30.0 bar, which was twice that of the maximum design pressure.

  • Prior research has shown empirically that organizational and career commitment may also be highly compatible with each other. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social welfare's organizational structure variable on the dual commitment to the organization and career. Dual commitment is analyzed by using multiple regression analysis of parallel model. For the research, organizational structure was consisted of complexity, formalization and decentralization. The results showed that social worker have high correlation to organizational commitment and career commitment. Especially, decentralization and complexity have a positive effects on the dual commitment to organizational and career commitment. This study finally discusses theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for structure design strategies on the results.

나노크기의 폭을 가진 우물 형태의 이중 발광층을 사용한 청색 유기발광소자의 색안정성과 색순도 향상 메카니즘

  • 유기 발광 소자는 차세대 디스플레이 소자와 조명 광원으로서 많은 응용성 때문에 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 청색 유기 발광 소자는 적색과 녹색 유기발광소자들에 비해 상대적으로 발광효율이 낮고 색 순도가 떨어지며 수명이 짧기 때문에 전색 유기발광소자를 구현하는데 문제가 있다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 청색 유기 발광소자의 재료 개발, 다층 이종구조 및 형광/인광성 물질의 도핑에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이와 더불어 색안정성과 색순도가 향상된 진청색 고효율 청색 유기발광소자는 백색유기발광소자의 응용성 때문에 이에 대한 연구가 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 청색 유기 발광 소자의 발광효율을 높이고 색안정성과 색순도를 향상하기 위해 4,4'-Bis (2,2'-diphenyl-ethen-1-yl)biphenyl (DPVBi) 와 4,4'-Bis(carbazol-9-yl) biphenyl (CBP)로 구성된 나노크기의 폭을 가진 우물 형태의 이중 발광층 구조를 사용한 청색 유기발광소자를 제작하였다. 제작된 청색유기발광소자의 전기적 성질과 광학적 성질을 조사하여 색안정성 및 색순도 향상 메카니즘을 관찰하였다. DPVBi/CBP 이중 발광층을 가지는 청색 유기발광소자에서 CBP의 HOMO 에너지 준위의 값이 3.2 eV로 매우 크기 때문에 정공을 막는 정공 장벽층의 역할을 하게 되어 정공이 발광층에 머무르게 된다. 또한 DPVBi의 LUMO 값의 크기 5.8 eV, CBP의 LUMO 값의 크기는 6.3 eV이므로 상대적으로 CBP의 전자에 대한 주입장벽이 크기 때문에 발광층에 머무르는 전자의 양이 증가된다. 청색 발광층에 사용된 이중 발광층은 단일 발광층에 비해 더 많은 전자와 정공이 존재하기 때문에 전자-정공 재결합 확률을 높였으며 재결합 영역이 발광층 중심의 이중발광층 계면으로 이동하여 발광 영역이 국소화되어 전압변화에 따른 색의 변화가 적고 색순도가 더욱 향상되었다.

  • A design-oriented method for analysis of the structural damage due to ship collisions is developed by using the idealized structural unit method(ISUM). The method takes into account yielding, crushing, rupture, the coupling effects between local and global failure of the structure, the influence of strain-rate sensitivity and the gap/contact conditions. The method is verified by a comparison of experimetal and numerical results obtained from test models of double-skin plated structures in collision/grounding situations with the present solutions. As an illustrative example, the method has been used for analyses of a side collision of a double-hull tanker. Several factors affecting ship collision response. namely the collision speed and the scantlings/arrangements of strength members, are discussed.

Comparison of Removal Efficiencies in Single and Duplex Ventilation Constructed Wetland Systems for Treating Domestic Sewage (단일 통풍형과 이중 통풍형 인공습지시스템의 하수처리 효율 비교)

  • To develop environmentally friendly constructed wetlands(CWs) for treating domestic sewage which was produced in farming and fishing village, the efficiency of water treatment at different ventilation systems in the vertical bed, depths of horizontal bed, and sewage loads was investigated. In the vertical bed, BOD and COD by duplex ventilation system were lower than those by single ventilation system. But T-N and T-P concentrations by both ventilation systems in the vertical bed were little different. In the horizontal bed, BOD, COD, T-N and T-P in 1.0 m and 1.3 m depths were little different. To reduce the CWs' area and to improve the pollutant removal efficiencies, the optimum depth of horizontal bed was 1.3 m. In single and duplex ventilation CWs, the removal rate of BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P decreased slightly with the sewage load increases. In same sewage load conditions, the removal rates of BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P by duplex ventilation CWs were higher than those by single ventilation CWs. In summary, to effectively treat domestic sewage from farming and fishing village, the optimum constructed wetlands would be the duplex ventilation CWs.

Design of GPS Receiving Antenna Installed in a Missile's Warhead (미사일 탑재형 GPS 안테나 설계)

  • A GPS receiving antenna installed in the missile's warhead is designed and fabricated at a center frequency 1.575 GHz. The circular shaped antenna is installed in the middle of the warhead where the antenna's patch and the ground plane are connected with a hollow cylindrical shaped short pin. Using the dual feeding and phase difference method, an omni-directional radiation pattern which direction is normal to the missile's axis(H-plane) is obtained. The optimized diameters of the circular patch and the cylindrical ring typed shorting pin of the GPS receiving antenna which use the FR4.material(dielectric constant $\varepsilon_r=4.6$) are 59.5 mm and 14 mm, respectively. The cylindrical body with diameter 100 mm and height 500 mm is attached to the lower part of the warhead in order to complete the missile figure. The radiation patterns are measured by changing the angle and phase between the dual feeding points. When the phase difference of dual feeding is $100^{\circ}$ and the angle between the dual feeding points is $100^{\circ}$, the nearly omni-directional radiation pattern in the H-plane is obtained. In this case, the antenna gain is -5.55 dBd and the relative level difference between the maximum and the minimum radiation intensity is 3.98 dB.
