The Structural and Functional Analysis of Landscape Changes in Daegu Metropolitan Sphere using Landscape Indices & Ecosystem Service Value (경관지수와 생태계용역가치를 활용한 대구광역도시권 경관의 구조적·기능적 변화 분석)

  • Ecosystem is composed of human, biotic and abiotic environment. Landscape is an ecosystem which appear in a unit region. These landscape are the spatiotemporal land mosaic which is combined with various landscape elements. And, land use and land cover changes are important factors of landscape structure changes. This study is mainly focused on the analysing the spatiotemporal change patterns of Daegu metropolitan sphere forest landscape, using landscape indices and Ecosystem Service Value (ESV) which quantify ecosystem structures and functions. The results of this study are as follow: The encroachment and fragmentation of forest were due to linear developments, i. e. road construction, rather than large-scale developments such as residental lands or industrial complexes. And, the core area percentages of landscape gradually decreased and these could possibly deteriorate the soundness of forest areas by reducing the core areas which are habitats of species. In addition, there was intimate relations between ESV and forest landscape area. The results of this study can be detached standards for impartial judgements between the logic of development & conservation, and basic standards for the establishment of development plans, i. e. metropolitan-plans, which are adequately reflected ecosystem value.

A Study on the Strength Characteristics and Failure Detection of Single-lap Joints with I-fiber Stitching Method (I-fiber 스티칭 공법이 적용된 Single-lap Joint의 강도 특성 및 파손 신호 검출 연구)

  • When a complex load such as torsion, low-speed impact, or fatigue load is applied, the properties in the thickness direction are weakened through microcracks inside the material due to the nature of the laminated composite material, and delamination occurs. To prevent the interlaminar delamination, various three-dimensional reinforcement methods such as Z-pinning and stitching, and structural health monitoring techniques that detect the microcrack of structures in real time have been continuously studied. In this paper, the single-lap joints with I-fiber stitching process were manufactured by a co-curing method and their strengths and failure detection capability were evaluated. AE and electric resistance method were used for detection of crack and failure signal and electric circuit for signal analysis was manufactured, and failure signal was analyzed during the tensile test of a single-lap joint. From the experiment, the strength of the single lap joint reinforced by I-fiber stitching process was improved by about 44.6% compared to the co-cured single lap joint without reinforcement. In addition, as the single-lap joint reinforced by I-fiber stitching process can detect failure in both the electrical resistance method and the AE method, it has been proven to be an effective structure for failure monitoring as well as strength improvement.

  • 2매의 금속을 맞대어 그 한 쪽에 접촉면과 평행하게 고주파진동을 가하면 단 시간에 접합된다. 이공정을 초음파 용접이라고 하며 그 물리적인 본질은 아직 불분명 하지만, 첫째로는 강한 마찰에 의해 금속 자유면의 산화물층이 제거되기 때문이라는 점과 둘째로는 마찰에 의해 금속 표면이 강하게 가열되어 이에 따른 연화에 의해 접합 이 된다고 하는 점이다. 그러나 이와 같이 가열된다고 하더라도 가열은 표면부에만 국한되고 다른 부분은 가열되지 않는다. 따라서 초음파용접은 냉간접합이라고도 한다. 또 가압력과 진동에 의한 힘이 동시에 작용하기 때문에 용접할 면을 미리 청정하게 할 필요는 없고 용접전의 단계에서 자연적으로 청정화가 이루어진다고 하는 사실이 간접 적으로 증명되고 있다. 초음파 용접(Ultrasonic welding)의 특징을 요약하면 고상용접 의 일종으로서 용접중에 국부적으로 고주파 진동에너지와 압력을 가하여 용접하는 방법이다. 이 때 모재를 용융시키지 않고 건전한 야금학적 결합부가 얻어진다는 데에 큰 특징이 있다. 또한 초음파용접은 다른 용접법에 비해 경제성이 매우 높고, 초음파 용접에 필요한 출력이 전기아크 용접에 필요한 출력의 5 - 10%로 충분한 경우가 많다. 초음파 용접은 통상의 방법으로는 용접하기 어려운 동종 금속이나 이종 금속의 용접에 널리 사용된다. 이 용접법은 반도체, 미세회로, 전기 접점의 형성에 대한 생산기술 로서 사용되고 있는데 소형 모터, 알루미늄 박의 가공, 알루미늄 합금의 조립 등에 이용되고 있다. 한편 최근에는 자동차, 우주항공산업 분야의 구조제 용접용으로도 채용되고 있다.출함이 바람직하다.분비되는 배설-분비 항원의 자극과 깊은 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.넌트 명세서를 대한 XML DTD(Document Type Definition)를 정의하고, HTML 기반 검색 방법과 XML 기반 검색 방법에 대한 컴포넌트 검색 성능을 비교한다.따라 NO 생산 및 세포독성이 증가하였고.   • High pressure components of a gas turbine engine must operate for a long life under severe conditions in order to maximize the performance and minimize the maintenance cost. Enhanced cooling design, thermal barrier coating techniques, and nickel-base superalloys have been applied for overcoming them and furthermore, material modeling, finite element analysis, statistical techniques, and etc. in design stage have been utilized widely. This article aims to evaluate the effects on the low cycle fatigue life of the high pressure turbine nozzle caused by different turbine inlet temperature profiles and installation conditions and to investigate the most favorable operating condition to the turbine nozzle. To achieve it, the structural analysis, which utilized the results of conjugate heat transfer analysis as loading boundary conditions, was performed and its results were the input for the assessment of low cycle fatigue life at several critical zones.

  • After IMF bailout crisis in Korea, project financing has been employed as a major funding vehicle for the housing development. In 2008, the recession of housing market due to the global financial crisis had an significant impact on the increasing insolvent site of PF based housing development project, resulting in serious impact to whole economy as a chain effect. In order to resolve this vicious circle of bankruptcy, the major construction companies were urged to take over the insolvent sites and invest to them for normal project exit, and finally play a critical role in normalization of market. Therefore, this study aims to define the core factors for decision making to invest to insolvent site and find out differences among constructors, developers, financial lenders. The results from AHP analysis, the profitability was the most important factor to constructors. Moreover, even though the location merit is little less, through competitive price, we can assure that stable profitability is most important factor to decide to invest in insolvent site. In conclusion, the price is cheap, is highly feasible, if the land secured, major construction company will participate in a PF business investment. These findings were verified by the investment case of major construction company.

The effect of recapitalization on capital structure decision and corporate value in Korean Firms (한국기업의 자본재조정이 자본구조 의사결정과 기업가치에 미치는 영향분석)

  • This study analyzed how Korean firms' recapitalization affects their capital structure decision and firm value. Recapitalization was categorized into three groups according to the influence of the debt to equity ratio: debt ratio-increasing-recapitalization(capital reduction with refund, cash dividend), debt ratio-unchanging-recapitalization (capital reduction without refund, retirement of repurchased stocks), and debt ratio-decreasing-recapitalization(exercise the rights for convertible bonds, bond with stock warrants, exchangeable bonds and stock options). This article highlights how the relationship between the firms' recapitalization and the capital structure decision driven by the change in debt to equity ratio through the recapitalization should affect the firm value. The whole recapitalization sample used for this analysis comprised 22,814 enterprises listed on the Korea Exchange that were analyzed over the 16-year period from 2000 to 2015. To summarize the results of this Panel Data Analysis, firstly, when a firm executes debt ratio-increasing-recapitalization and debt ratio-decreasing-recapitalization at the period of t-1, the debt to equity ratio, which is increased or decreased, should affect the firm's debt capacity in the same period, then, at the period of t, the firm establishes a leverage policy to readjust the debt to equity ratio the other way around. These adjustments of debt-paying-ability from the leverage policy, including the capital structure decision, finally affect the firm value. Secondly, when a firm implements the debt ratio-unchanging-recapitalization in the period of t-1, the debt to equity ratio, which is neutral, should not affect the firm's capital structure decision. But, the firm value is positively affected by the influence of that recapitalization. Conclusively, we acknowledge a firm which carries out the recapitalization balances its capital structure to the optimal level of leverage and that the capital structure decision positively affects the corporate value.

Elasto-Magnetic Sensor-Based Local Cross-Sectional Damage Detection for Steel Cables (Elasto-Magnetic 센서를 이용한 강재 케이블 국부 단면 감소 손상 탐지)

  • The Elasto-magnetic sensor is applied to detect the local cross-sectional loss of steel cables in this study while it was originally developed for measuring the tensile force in the previous works. To verify the feasibility of the proposed damage detection technique, steel bars which have 4-different diameters were fabricated and the output voltage value was measured at each diameter by the E/M sensor. Optimal input voltage and working point are chosen so that the linearity and resolution of results can ensure through repeated experiments, and then the E/M sensor was measured the output voltage values at the damage points of steel bar specimen that was applied the 4 types of damage condition based on the selected optimal experimental condition. This proposed approach can be an effective tool for steel cable health monitoring.

Development of rotor overlay welding process (로타 오버레이 용접공정 개발)

  • 터빈에서 핵심부품인 로터는 블레이드를 원심 운동시키는 대형 단조강이며, 고압의 증기 조건에서 고속회전하며 고온에서 운전과 저온에서 과속시험 동안 높은 원심력을 받는다. 또한 기동/정지 천이 동안 열응력을 받기 때문에, 이러한 운전조건에 부합되는 소재로서는 높은 Creep 강도 및 피로강도를 가지는 CrMoV type의 강종이 사용되어져 왔다. 발전소의 대용량화 및 고온화에 따라 종래의 증기조건에서 사용되어져 왔던 1%CrMoV강은 내산화성 및 내부식성이 문제가 되어 더 이상 사용이 불가하며, 고온/고압하에서도 우수한 소재 특성을 가지는 12%Cr강의 사용이 필수적이다. 그러나 12%Cr강으로 제작되는 로타는 Cr 양이 높기 때문에 저널부에 Galling 또는 Scuffing 이라 불리는 부적절한 마모현상과 사용 중 소착이 발생하기 쉬운 단점이 있기 때문에, 저널부에 Cr 함유량 2~3% 이하의 저합금강을 오버레이 용접하여 육성하는 일체형 가공구조의 로타 저널부가 주목되어 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Large scale 로타가 용접 도중 급열 및 급냉이 되지 않으면서 균일한 온도로 일정 시간 유지할 수 있는 열관리 장치 개발, 최적 오버레이 용접조건 선정 및 용접부 건전성 시험 평가를 통하여 12%Cr 로타 저널부의 최적 오버레이 용접공정을 확립하고자 하였다. 용접 열관리 장치는 전기저항 가열방식을 적용하고 있으며 용접이 최종 완료되기 전까지 로타 제품 전체는 $93^{\circ}C$이상의 온도로 유지 되어져야 하며, 규정 용접후열처리 온도는 $650^{\circ}C{\pm}14^{\circ}C$ 이다. 또한 로타 오버레이 용접은 모재 Set up $\Rightarrow$ 용접예열 $\Rightarrow$ GTA용접 $\Rightarrow$ SA용접 $\Rightarrow$ 용접후열(Post heating) $\Rightarrow$ 용접후열처리(PWHT) $\Rightarrow$ 정삭가공 $\Rightarrow$ NDE(UT) 순으로 수행 되어진다 실제 로타의 1/3 Scale로 시험편을 제작하여, 오버레이 mockup 시험을 수행한 후 화학성분, 경도 분포, 인장강도, 충격인성 및 굽힘시험을 수행한 결과, 오버레이 용접에서 요구되어지는 용접 물성값을 만족하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 균열 등의 선형 결함이나 기공, 슬라그 혼입과 같은 결함은 관찰되지 않았으며, 용접 시 아크의 안정성과 슬라그의 박리성은 양호하였으며 비드의 외관도 미려하여 용접 작업성도 양호하였다.

Study on Characteristics for Local Deposit of Sediment by Surveying River Bed's Layer History in High Berm of River Channel (하도 층구조 이력조사를 통한 하도내 국지퇴적 특성 분석)

  • More recently, there have been significant changes in the forms of channels due to runoff characteristics driven by climate changes and other alterations in basin/channel environments. Particularly, increasing local deposition in major channels is being observed nationwide. Of such phenomena, it is noteworthy that flood-plains show unidirectional growth and lowering of channels within compound channels in the form of a high-flow plain. These changes are supposed to affect management of the river ecology as well as flood control. In this study, the research on channels in Korea confirmed that the phenomenon of local deposition in those channels is actually taking place, rendering a problem to be urgently addressed. Previous studies on bed changes have been focused on low channels based on bed materials distributed over the channels. However, this research has proved that surface-layer deposition of a high-flow plain is closely related with changes in the conditions of ground surfaces and, ultimately, affects the bed of the entire channel as well. According to the intensive research on the condition of the high-flow plain of the mouth of the Han River, the silt deposited in the high-flow plain was the main cause of settlement/growth of vegetation. And this leads to landforming along with woods-forming, disturbing flood control as well as the normal river ecology.

Effect of Process Gas and Burner Gas Temperature on Reaction and Thermal Deformation Characteristics in a Steam Reformer (증기 개질기의 반응 및 열변형 특성에 미치는 공정가스와 버너가스 온도의 영향)

  • This study numerically investigates the characteristics of chemical reactions and thermal deformation in a steam reformer. These phenomena are significantly affected by the high-temperature burner gas and the process gas conditions. Because the high temperature of the burner gas ranges from 800 to 1000 K, the reformer tubes undergo substantial thermal deformation, eventually resulting in structural failure. Thus, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the reaction and thermal deformation under the operating conditions to evaluate the reformer tubes for sustainable, stable operation. Extensive numerical simulations were carried out using commercial CFD code (ANSYS FLUENT/MECHANICA Ver. 13.0) while considering three-dimensional turbulent flows and combined heat transfer including conduction, convection, and radiation. Structural analysis considering conjugated heat transfer between solid tubes and fluid flows was conducted using the Fluid-Solid Interaction (FSI) method. The results show that when the injection temperature of the process gas and burner gas decreased, the hydrogen production rate decreased significantly, and thermal deformation decreased by at least 15 to 20%.
