  • Power consumption measurement in sensor network is difficult to proceed by survey in real field. Thus, through simulation, the power consumption is estimated and replacement time of nodes are decided. A simulation tool simulates various facts such as power consumption, packet transmission traffic, network topology and etc. In this paper, it suggests sensor node power model to simulate power consumption which has large importance among simulation facts in sensor network. This model omits calculating expressions that the data originally surveyed can substitute with, according to power consumption property of each functions in sensor node in order to minimize calculations in simulation. In this case accuracy of power consumption estimation will be reduced, but can simulate it faster due to reduced calculation. Suggested model is fitted to analyze power consumption difference between two or more sensor network algorithms with rapid simulation speed rather than accurate simulation.

  • In this paper, performance of 8-ISDN traffic for the buffer size which is requested of important parameters in switch/multiplexer of B-ISDN with multimedia traffic is analyzed. Multimedia traffic is modeled as a traffic, which is composed of poisson distribution traffic and burst traffic with exponential/geometric ON time duration(Burst duration) Performance of traffic which is modeled as a multimedia traffic is analysed and buffer size, can provide the high quality service, is presented for the cell loss probability. It is simulated using event scheduling approach method which is provided by simulation package, PC SIMSCRIPT II.5. Simulation program is composed of PREAMBLE, MAIN, INITIAL, ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE and STOP·SIM modules. Specially, in case of mixed traffic simulation, ARRIVAL module is composed of ARRIVAL I and ARRIVAL II, and cells are generated independently by each module.

  • This paper describes and explains that the engagement level model of submarine can be used in underwater engagement simulation taking reuse, interoperability, and extension to the engineering leveled simulation into consideration. WBS(Work Break-down Structure), internal data interface, and I/O data about the engagement level model of submarine are developed. It describes the modeling method of components of submarine model as well. In this paper, the non-acoustic detection and stealth models are excluded because those models are not related to the underwater engagement, so the excluded models need to be developed in the future.

  • Survivability of combat system is changed by various facts in dynamic battle field. Existing survivability analysis programs for a combat system analyze statically survivability for combat system in spite of dynamic battle environment. To overcome this limitation, we propose an agent-based modeling and simulation method for dynamic survivability analysis of the combat system. To do this, we have adopted DEVS formalism, SES/MB framework and agent technology for modeling components of the combat system and crews. The proposed method has advantages of being able to analyze not only a static survivability of the combat system but also a dynamic survivability of combat system by applying responses of crews in battle field.

  • Phone camera lens module is assembled with a barrel, multiple lenses, multiple spacers and a shield. The major processes of manufacturing system are injection molding, coating and assembly processes, and each process has multiple machines. In this paper, we introduce a scheduler based on simulation model which can be used for frequent rescheduling problem caused by urgent orders, breaking down of molds and failures of machines. The scheduling algorithm uses heuristic Backward-Forward method, and the objective is to minimize the number of tardy orders.

  • We introduce a family of simulators for I/O-intensive distributed or parallel applications, and a methodology that permits selecting the most efficient simulator meeting a given user-defined accuracy requirement. This methodology consists of a series of tests to choose an appropriate simulation based on the attributes of the application. In addition, each simulator provides two estimates of application execution time: the minimum expected time and the maximum. We present the results of applying our methodology to existing applications, and show that we can accurately simulate applications tens to hundreds of tunes faster than the application execution times.

  • This paper explores a border security system based on agent-based modeling and simulation (ABMS). The ABMS software platform, map aware non-uniform automata, is used to model various scenarios and evaluate the border security system given a set of infiltrators who have evolutionary behavior governed by genetic algorithm (GA). we formulated an optimization model and approximately solved it using a GA in order to capture near optimal behavior of an infiltrating force. The results presented give two significant insights for our border security system in that optimizing the infiltrator's behavior can make a significant difference and the quantitative results regarding the infiltrator's avoidance of each asset can be viewed as capturing their relative importance.

  • A variable speed wind turbine simulation model for grid connection is developed based on PSCAD/EMTDC. The model consists of wind model, rotor dynamics, synchronous generator, power converter, transformer, distribution line and infinite bus. Implementation of blade characteristics and power converter control strategies are included. Several transient case studies are performed including wind speed change, local load change and grid-side voltage unbalance using developed simulation model. The results of this work can be utilized for study of actual interaction between wind turbine and grid for reliable operation and protection of power system.

  • Robotic motion is designed by the rotation and the translation of multiple joint coordinates in a three-dimensional space. Joint coordinates are generally modeled by homogeneous transform matrix. However, the complexity of three dimensional motions prefers the visualization methods based on simulation environments in which models and generated motions work properly. Many simulation environments have the limitations of usability and functional extension from platform dependency and interpretation of predefined commands. This paper proposes the web-based three dimensional simulation environment toward high user accessibility. Also, it covers the small size web server that is linked with Python script. The non linearities of robot control apply to verify the computing efficiency, the process management, and the extendability of user scripts.
