Management and Control Scheme for Next Generation Packet-Optical Transport Network (차세대 패킷광 통합망 관리 및 제어기술 연구)

  • Increase of data traffic and the advent of new real-time services require to change from the traditional TDM-based (Time Division Multiplexing) networks to the optical networks that soft and dynamic configuration. Voice and lease line services are main service area of the traditional TDM-based networks. This optical network became main infrastructure that offer many channel that can convey data, video, and voice. To provide high resilience against failures, Packet-optical networks must have an ability to maintain an acceptable level of service during network failures. Fast and resource optimized lightpath restoration strategies are urgent requirements for the near future Packet-optical networks with a Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching(GMPLS) control plane. The goal of this paper is to provide packet-optical network with a hierarchical multi-layer recovery in order to fast and coordinated restoration in packet-optical network/GMPLS, focusing on new implementation information. The proposed schemes do not need an extension of optical network signaling (routing) protocols for support.

  • This paper introduces and applies the World Bank's methodology for constructing composite index or aggregating indicators. After recalculating the world competitiveness index of IMD using Unobserved Component Model(UCM) we compare it with the existing index and try to find some implications. We also try to construct the composite index for measuring the performance of local finance. We employ the Principal Component Analysis(PCA) for validating the appropriateness of selected indicators used in making the composite index. We found that the UCM and PCA are very useful and will be used widely in various evaluations such as regional development, local finance, local competitiveness and public enterprise, etc.

  • Thanks to various benefits, low-cost real-time communication networks so called fieldbus have been widely used in many industrial applications including military systems, such as aircrafts, submarines, and robots. This paper presents a reliability analysis of dual-channel CAN(Controller Area Network) fieldbus which is used for controlling various equipment of submarine combat system. A submarine combat system playing a critical role to the success of missions and survivability consists of various devices including sensors/actuators and computers. Since a communication network for submarine combat system must satisfy an extremely high level of reliability, a dual channel technique is commonly adopted. In this paper, a Petri Net based reliability model for dual-channel CAN is discussed. A reliability model called generalized stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) is built by utilizing the information on physical faults with CAN. The effectiveness of the proposed model is analyzed in terms of unreliability with respect to failure rate and repair rate.

  • Tour industry has been growing with increasing of people leisure time quantitatively as well as qualitatively. Especially, region tourist industry shows rapid growth because of the development of transportation and communication. Tourist contents that representing the region have been developing briskly. However there are many nominal tourist contents have just region differentiation with same attribute and composition. It has to be consider about tourist first not a contents provider or a developer. To be memorable tourist contents and to connect to consumption, understanding about tourist is needed. So 'Experience' will be standards when tourist contents is planned. In that sense, experience 4factors from Experience Economy and Challenge-skill model from Flow will be frames for giving shape to develop tourist contents. Experience 4factors from Experience Economy suggests 4factors for the superb enjoyment to tourists, and Challenge-skill model from Flow proposes balanced contents for understanding tourists. They will contribute to suggest planning frames for sustainable tourist contents and it lead to tourists' reinstation.

A Study on the Issues on the Right of Portrait for Performing Arts Archives (공연예술기록의 초상권에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is to examine the issues of the right of portrait and to suppose practical guideline for performing arts archives. The right of portrait protects external looks of the human beings based on the constitutional human dignity, privacy of a secret and freedom. But sometimes these rights are limited in case of the right to know of the public shall have precedence to the interests of the privacy of individuals. It is hard to regard Performing Arts as a private life in two respects: first, Performing Arts is just one of societal expressions, two, performers are conducting a given role as a performing character. Producing database with the photos and videos under the reasonable agreement from the performers and making it available as a service can be disclaimers of the right of portrait. It is hard to be acknowledged, however, as disclaimers in case of being undermined sameness in the course of using the portraits of the performers.

Implementation of Multiple Frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis System for Body Composition Analysis (신체 성분 분석을 위한 다 주파수 생체전기 임피던스 분석 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we introduce the multiple frequency bio-electrical impedance analysis method for body composition analysis. And then we implement the multiple frequency bio-electrical impedance analysis system. Overall system consists of: multiple frequency alternating current signal generator contained alternating current signal, phase signal detector, voltage signal detector, micro controller, in-out device(key-pad LCD), conductivity electrodes, system power. We explain the architecture of the system and required theory to implement the system. In order to investigate the clinical significance of the body composition data, compare to the data measured by the expert body composition analyzer which provide high reproduction and precision. Finally, experimental results which are the correlation between the measured data show the very high reproduction performance of the body composition analysis in the proposed system.

An Undergraduate Level Polarimeter and Specific Rotation at 543 nm of Sucrose (학부용 편광계와 543 nm에서 설탕의 비회전 측정)

  • Measurements of the optical activity become very important issues in fields related to polymers, optical communications, astronomy, physics and many more. Hence it need to introduce this subject in our regular curriculum. In this experiment, an inexpensive, reliable, motorized polarimeter system which is suitable for undergraduate courses is constructed with PASCO's well-known Science Workshop 750 and a rotational motion sensor and light sensor, and the system is presented along with its experimental formulas. After responsivity of this system was checked by a half wave plate, and some repetitive experiments with 30% sucrose solution at 543.8 nm were performed. Comparing the experimental result with two calculated values from CRC data[1] showed that the specific rotation of the sucrose sample could be strongly suggested to be around +76 deg.cc/g.dm and it was an amply acceptable result for most undergraduate level courses.

A CMOS LC VCO with Differential Second Harmonic Output (차동 이차 고조파 출력을 갖는 CMOS LC 전압조정발진기)

  • A technique is presented to extract differential second harmonic output from common source nodes of a cross-coupled P-& N-FET oscillator. Provided the impedances at the common source nodes are optimized and the fundamental swing at the VCO core stays in a proper mode, it is found that the amplitude and phase errors can be kept within $0{\sim}1.6dB$ and $+2.2^{\circ}{\sim}-5.6^{\circ}$, respectively, over all process/temperature/voltage corners. Moreover, an impedance-tuning circuit is proposed to compensate any unexpectedly high errors on the differential signal output. A Prototype 5-GHz VCO with a 2.5-Hz LC resonator is implemented in $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS. The error signal between the differential outputs has been measured to be as low as -70 dBm with the aid of the tuning circuit. It implies the push-push outputs are satisfactorily differential with the amplitude and phase errors well less than 0.34 dB and $1^{\circ}$, respectively.

Nano-Powder 제조를 위한 RF Thermal Plasma Torch System 개발 및 Nano-Si 특성 연구

  • 국내에는 나노 분말 제조를 위한 RF 열플라즈마 시스템 제조 기술이 확보되어 있지 않고, 또한 나노 파우더 제조를 위한 공정 기술 역시 외국 업체에 전적으로 의존하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 나노 분말 제조를 위한 RF 열 플라즈마 토치 시스템 개발과 고품질의 나노 파우더 합성 공정 기술을 확립하여 필요 기관에 제공하는데 있다. 80 kW RF Plasma torch system의 설계 및 제작을 위해 플라즈마 Simulator인 CFD-ACE+를 이용하여 플라즈마 토치 및 반응로 내의 온도 분포, 유체 유동, 열전달 등의 해석을 통해 플라즈마 토치 및 반응로의 반경 및 길이, 구조의 설계 값을 도출하여 반응로를 설계하여 RF 파워, RF 플라즈마 토치(Torch), 반응기(Reactor), 사이클론(Cyclone), 포집부(Collector), 열교환기 및 진공배기 시스템으로 구성하였다. Si 나노 소재의 경우, 이차전지 음극재에 적용이 가능한 대표적인 소재로서 높음 비용량과 충/방전시 부피팽창을 감소시킬 수 있어 이차전지의 고용량 구현을 위해서는 가장 중요한 소재중 하나로 많은 관심 재료로 평가 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 상용화된 Si 원료 powder를 사용하여 고상 분체 공급 장치를 통하여 고온의 플라즈마를 통과시켜 기상화 및 결정화과정을 통해 Si 나노분말을 제조하였다. 공정 변수로서 공정압력 및 플라즈마 power, Gas의 변화량에 따른 나노 분말의 제조 특성에 대한 실험을 진행한 후 제조된 나노 분말을 비표면적측정(BET) 및 SEM 측정 결과 분석을 통하여 시스템 특성을 파악하였으며 제조된 Si 나노 파우더는 이차전지 음극재로서 770 mAh/g의 용량과 93%@50 cycle 수준의 유지율을 나타내었다.

Investigation on the Mitigation of Suicidal Thoughts in the Elderly Depending on Mobile Media Technology and Living Arrangement (모바일 미디어 기술과 주거형태에 따른 노인 자살생각 완화 연구)

  • In the super-aged societies, an increased elderly population living in solitude has been causing many problems. Since the elderly may incur a sense of loss and interest in suicide when living alone, this study investigated the effects of smartphones as well as types of living arrangements on elderly peoples' sense of loss and suicidal thoughts. This study found social roles and relationships were lower for older individuals using smartphones than those using 2G phones. Not surprisingly, those living with family members or a partner had significantly fewer suicidal thoughts than those living in solitude. However, our results indicate subjects' loss of role and relationships was affected more significantly by their smartphone usage (2G phone vs. smartphone) rather than their living arrangements (i.e., living with family or a partner vs. living in solitude). Moreover, smartphone users showed a lower sense of loss in terms of social roles and relationships. Among the elderly, loss of health, social role, and relationships were identified as precedents for increased suicidal thoughts; yet, economic capacity was surprisingly not an indicator of suicidal thoughts.
