A Knowledge-based System for Analyzing Sophisticated Geometric Structure of Document Images (문서 영상의 정교한 기하적 구조분석을 위한 지식베이스 시스템)

  • Sophisticated geometric structure analysis must be preceded to create electronic document from logical components extracted from document image. this paper presents a knowledge-based method for sophisticated geometric structure analysis of technical journal pages. The proposed knowledge base encodes geometric characteristics that are not only common in technical journals but also publication-specific in the form rules. The method takes the hybrid of top-down and bottom-up techniques and consists of two phases: region segmentation and identification. Generally, the result of segmentation process does not have a one-to-one matching with composite layout components. Therefore, the proposed method identifies non-text objects such as image, drawing and table, as well as text objects such as text line and equation by splitting or grouping segmented regions into composite layout components. Experimental results with 372 images scanned from the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence show that the proposed method has performed geometrical structure analysis successfully on more than 99% of the test images, resulting in sophisticated performance compared with previous works.

SystemVerilog-based Verification Environment using SystemC Constructs (SystemC 구성요소를 이용한 SystemVerilog 기반 검증환경)

  • As a system becomes more complex, a design relies more heavily on a methodology based on high-level abstraction and functional verification. SystemVerilog includes characteristics of hardware design language and verification language in the form of extensions to the Verilog HDL. However, the OOP of System Veri log does not allow multiple inheritance. In this paper, we propose adoption of SystemC to introduce multiple inheritance. After being created, a SystemC unit is combined with a SystemVerilog-based verification environment using SystemVerilog DPI and ModelSim macro. Employing multiple inheritance of SystemC makes a design of a verification environment simple and easy through source code reuse. Moreover, a verification environment including SysemC unit has a benefit of reconfigurability due to OOP.

과학영재아동의 적응, 자기지각, 사회적지지 및 스트레스에 관한 연구

  • 우리나라 영재교육에 대한 연구들은 대부분 영재아의 개념정의와 판별도구 개발, 영재발굴, 선발 및 그들의 교육에 편중되어 있는 반면 영재아들의 적응, 자기지각, 또래관계등 사회정서발달에 관련된 연구는 거의 이루어지지 못하고 있다 이에 본 연구는 과학영재아동의 개인 및 일상생활에서의 적응수준 및 성별에 따른 적응, 자기지각 및 사회적지지의 차이를 파악하며, 그들의 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 자기지각 및 사회적 지지 수준을 살펴보고 영재아의 사회적 성취나 적응에 도움을 줄 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구의 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학영재아동과 일반아동의 적응(개인적응, 사회적응, 부적응), 자기지각 및 사회적 지지는 차이가 있는가\ulcorner, 둘째, 과학영재아동의 적응, 자기지각 및 사회적 지지는 성별에 따라 차이가 있는가\ulcorner, 셋째, 과학영재아동의 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 자기지각, 사회적 지지 수준은 어떠한가\ulcorner 본 연구의 대상은 전라북도에 위치한 중학교 1학년 100명의 아동이며, 이들은 교사추천 및 전북대학교 과학영재연구소의 과학과 수학시험을 통해 선발된 과학 영재아동이다. 설문결과 불성실한 응답자를 제외한 총 39명(남아 59명, 여아 30명)이 최종 연구대상이 되었다. 본 연구의 측정도구로 아동의 적응능력검사도구는 한국교육평가센터(KETC)에서 1998년 개발하여 표준화과정을 마친 종합적응능력검사를 사용하였으며, 개인적응영역(자아개념 12문항, 성취동기 10문항, 자기기획 15문항), 사회적응영역(사교성 15문항, 애착 9문항, 사회적 긍정성 10문항), 부적응영역(스트레스 20문항, 욕구좌절 10문항, 편견 12문항) 총 113문항으로 구성되어 있다. 아동의 자기지각검사도구는 Harter(1985)의 Self-Perception Profile이며, 학업역량, 사회적역량, 운동역량, 신체외모역량, 행동품행역량, 자기가치감 각각 6문항씩 총36문항으로 구성되어 있다. 아동의 사회적 지지검사도구는 한미현(1996)이 제작한 척도를 사용하였으며 부모지지, 교사지지, 학교친구지지, 친한 친구지지 각각 6문항씩 총 24문항으로 구성되어 있다.

  • The biggest strength of the Internet is to enable to access information without any limitation of time and space. As the Internet and IT technologies have been developed, various kinds of teaching ways in education field such as remote lectures, video lectures, and CAI(Computer Adapted Instruction) have emerged. In terms of education, evaluation can be a basic foundation to help teach students in the next learning stage according to each student's level. In addition, it is able to give the information of students'abilities and provides proper learning programs to teach students on a case-by-case basis. The purpose of the paper is to establish evaluation system on the WWW(World Wide Web) that can reflect learning activities part of students in their evaluation scores based on the two important learning theories, Behaviorism and constructivism, which are mainly used in evaluation procedures to judge learning ability of students. This system will give information about learners, and analyze the learning interest of learners. The proposed system enables teachers to evaluate learning ability of students through various kinds of information of learners, and to execute level-based education.

Level of High School Physics Teacher's Understanding of Fundamental Physical Constants and Their Educational Application (기본물리상수에 대한 고등학교 물리교사의 인식 수준 및 교육적 활용 인식 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore how high school physics teachers perceive and understand fundamental physical constants as well as how they explain them and what methods they currently use in class. This study developed a questionnaire survey to recognize physics teachers' level of understanding of fundamental physical constants, which were measured by many scientists and contributed the to generation and improvement of scientific theories. Those questionnaire surveys were conducted among 130 high school physics teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon. Among them, 124 participated in the survey and six were interviewed. The content of the survey consists of three parts: (i) basic questions about teachers, (ii) questions to measure the teachers' understanding of fundamental physical constants, and (iii) questions about the educational use of fundamental physical constants. The survey was distributed via e-mail, and respondents submitted their responses via e-mail as well. Semi-structured interviews were conducted for 30 minutes each, and all interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed twice.

A Study on the Efficient Operation of Harpoon Missile Maintenance Personnel Using Simulation Model (시뮬레이션을 활용한 효율적인 하푼 유도탄 정비인력 운영 연구)

  • The maintenance of the guided missiles typically requires the efficient management of spare parts and maintenance time. This study analyzed the impact of the maintenance time on operational availability. This study classifies the maintenance team with consideration of the skill level of the Harpoon guided missile maintenance and the goal is to analyze the impact on the operational availability with the skill levels quantitatively. Based on the real maintenance data of Harpoon guided missiles, a simulation model is constructed and analyzed. The analysis of the simulation result shows the trade-off between the maintenance time and operational availability. It is expected that the simulation model can help the maintenance policies of guided missiles.

  • 본 연구에서는 상수관망의 신뢰도 기반 최적화설계에서 시스템 구성물의 기계적 고장의 영향뿐만이 아니라 관로의 수리학적 능력과 절점수요에서의 불확실성이 결합되어 인식할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제시하였다. 수질과 연관된 신뢰도 문제는 고려하지 않았고 단지 수량의 항으로 수요자들의 요구량을 충족시키기 위해 급수관망의 공급능력을 고려하였다. 수량의 관점에서 관망의 신뢰도의 측정은 절점 수요량들이 항상 만족되어진다고 가정한 상태에서 불충분한 수두의 정도를 이용한다. 따라서 절점신뢰도는 공급되는 절점수두가 미리 규정된 최소수두를 상외하거나 충족시키는 확률로 정의되어진다. 이 모형에 의해 설계된 상수관망은 정상관망 상태구성(구성물의 고장이 발생하지 않았을 경우)와 미리 정해진 고장 시나리오의 범위와 연관된 관망의 악화된 구성상태 모두에서 절점에서의 임의의 수요량과 임의의 수리학적 능력하에서 상수공급량의 항으로 규정된 수준의 서어비스의를 제공할 수 있다. 본 모형은 다양한 관망구성에 내해 상수관망의 신뢰도의 정도를 결정하기 위해서 Monte-Carlo 모의를 이용하였다. 실제 상수관망에 내해 본 인구모형을 이용하여 신뢰도 및 최적화 해석이 수행되었다. 해석결과 본 모형은 합리적으로 관망 전체에 대해 합리적인 범위의 신뢰도를 유지하면서 관망의 건설비용의 치적화가 수행될 수 있었다.

A Study on the Method of Measuring and Valuation of Technology Level in Public Large-Scale R&D Program (국가 대형 R&D 기술수준 측정 및 평가 방법 연구)

  • In this study, new evaluation perspective and analysis methodology are suggested to assess the technological level of new product produced by national large R&D program and applied to case analysis of the superconducting cable technology. Logical Procedures for the assessment of the technological level include essential technology classification, analysis of evaluation factors, structure and content of assessment items, presentation method of the analysis result. Variable with technological properties are employed to analyze the relative competitiveness subjectively. The principal component analysis are applied to measure the relative competitiveness in terms of size and position. Finally the combined results of technology and right evaluation show that the technology level of DAPAS superconducting cables lies somewhere between 96.11% and 101.76% compared with a global leader in technology. The result provides sufficient evidences that it secures technological edges over other competitors. Therefore it can be called as a globally leading technology. New evaluation perspective and analysis methodology suggested can be applied usefully to assess the technology level of public large-scale R&D program.

  • In this study, I examine whether differences in the levels of job satisfaction and turnover intention exist with regard to the police department size. To accomplish this, a way ANOVA analysis of variance(One-way ANOVA) was conducted. As a result, a significant differences were found in job satisfaction and turnover intention according to the department size and grade. Specifically, first, in the job satisfaction level on the department size, the smaller department size was, the lower job satisfaction level was and the bigger department size was, the higher job satisfaction level was. Second, in the turnover intention level on the department size, the result was not statistically significant. Third, in the job satisfaction level on the department grade, the lower department grade was, the higher job satisfaction level was and the higher department grade was, the lower job satisfaction level was. Fourth, in the turnover intention level on the department grade, the lower department grade was, the lower turnover intention level was and the higher department grade was, the higher turnover intention level was.

Exploring the Effects of Grouping by Learning Style of Gifted-Student in Science on the Verbal Interaction (과학 영재들의 학습양식에 따른 소집단 구성이 언어적 상호작용에 미치는 영향 탐색)

  • The importance of small group activity has recently been emphasized in the gifted education in science because of the increased needs to foster the human resources that could explore through the communication and collaboration. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the verbal interaction according to the learning styles of the gifted-students in science in the small group activity and examined how learning style affected the interaction within a group in order to seek an effective grouping strategy. The competition, cooperative, and dependent students with learning style in the small group 1 and the cooperative, cooperative, dependent students in the small group 2 were assigned by the 6 science high school students. The analyses of the results revealed that the small group 1 showed the asymmetric interaction of the low level, whereas the small group 2 showed the symmetric interaction of the high level. In other words, the frequencies of in-depth interaction in the small group 2 were higher than those in the small group 1, and also students in the small group 2 were equally involved in the activity rather than the small group 1. These results suggested that the grouping by the students' learning styles in the small group activity should affect significantly the participation decision in activity and the level of verbal interaction. Educational implications of theses findings were discussed.
