세계 선진 수의 기생충학회 (World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology; (W.A.A.V.P.) 제17차 국제학술대회 (the 17th International Conference)가 1999년 8월 15일부터 20일까지, 덴마크의 대학도시 코펜하겐 (Copenhagen, Denmark)에서 개최되었다. 제17차 금년도 W.A.A.V.P 국제학술대회의 특징은, '기생충 (parasites). 생산 (production) 그리고 환경 (environment)'이라는 슬로우건을 내걸고, 06개국의 회원국에서, 750 여명이 참가하여, 13가지의 주제별로, 700여 제목의 특강과 학술발표 (구두 및 포스타 발표), 워크샵 등으로 이루어 졌다는 점이다. 새롭고 눈에 띄는 발표중에는, 네오스포라 캐나이눔 (Neosporacaninum)의 백신개발에 관한 연구보고도 있었다, 금년도 W.A.A.V.P. 국제학술대회에는 우리나라에서 필자를 포함하여 서울대학교 수의과대학 기생충학 교실에서 윤희정 교수와, 박사학위 과정중에 있는 이종경 수의사와 서흔수 수의사가 참여하었으며 3 제목을 발표하었다. 앞으로, 2년 후에는, 제18차 W.A.A.V.P. 국제학술대회가 이태리의 스트레사라는 도시에서, '전진을 가속화, 전통을 지키며' ('Promoting Advancement, Preserving Tradition')이라는 슬로우건을 내걸고 열리게 될 예정이다. 우리나라 수의기생충 연구업무의 활성화 위하여, 세계 선진 수의 기생충학회 제17차 코펜하겐 학술대회와 제18차 스트레사 학술대회에 관한 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

2014년 7월 23일부터 25일까지 전라북도 무주에서 제 1회 대학원생 외부은하 워크샵 "We Love Galaxies"를 개최하였습니다. 초청연사 박사 연구원 2명을 포함, 8개 대학 및 기관에서 총 27명이 참석한 이번 워크샵은 외부은하를 연구하는 대학원생들이 서로의 연구를 이해하고, 현대 외부은하 천문학의 문제들을 공유하며, 자유로운 토의를 통해 더 큰 우주를 그릴 수 있는 기회를 마련하는 것을 목적으로 하였습니다. 총 9개의 세션 27개의 구두발표를 통해 은하의 다파장 특성, 형태 분류 및 내부 구조, 주변 환경과 은하 특성과의 관계, 은하 병합 및 진화, 활동성 은하핵 등의 다양한 주제들을 다루었습니다. 본 포스터를 통해 "We Love Galaxies"의 결과 및 성과, 이후 계획에 대해 소개하고자 합니다.

The purpose of this study is to identify theoretical basis of information literacy program in the Korea. Nine Information Literacy Program were compared with ACRL Information Standards. The result of this study is as follows: (1) The identification of information needed was included in the programs that emphasized a thesis or topic statement and formulated question, critical thinking, information technology. (2) Most programs contained mainly potential sources for information. (3) Each programs had element of Information access strategy and skills that explained to OPAC, Indexes and Abstracts, On-line retrievals. (4) Implements the search strategy using various formats was essential elements in the programs. (5) Evaluation and synthesis was included in the programs, partially evaluation for information process and satisfaction was included. (6) The writing skills for termpaper. quotations and oral presentations are important elements of information use in the programs, however. those programs didn't contain enough the ethical and legal uses of information with respect to the standard.

한국 젊은 천문학자들의 모임 (Korea Young Astronomers Meeting, KYAM) 소속 9명의 회원은 한국천문연구원의 지원을 받아 2015년 2월 9일부터 4일간 대만 타이페이에서 개최된 East Asia Young Astronomers Meeting (EAYAM) 2015에 참석하였다. EAYAM은 한국, 대만, 일본, 중국 등 동아시아 4개국의 젊은 천문학자 간의 교류 및 연구 증진을 위하여 정기적으로 열리는 모임으로, 2003년 대만, 2006년 일본, 2008년 중국, 2011년 한국에서 차례로 개최되었으며, 2015년 다시 대만에서 5회째를 맞이하였다. 참석한 KYAM 회원들은 구두 발표(5명)와 포스터 발표(2명)를 통해 자신의 연구결과를 알릴 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라, EAYAM에 참석한 여러 국내외 젊은 천문학자들과 다양한 정보를 공유하고 친분을 쌓을 수 있었다. 다음 EAYAM은 3년 후 일본에서 개최 될 예정이며, 이에 대한 자세한 사항들은 논의 후에 공지 될 예정이다. 한편, KYAM은 지난 해 한국천문학회 가을학술대회에서 정기모임을 개최하였으며 그간의 성과를 보고하고 회원들의 의견을 수렴하는 논의 및 친목도모의 시간을 가졌다. 이 포스터 발표를 통하여 우리는 KYAM 소속 학생들의 EAYAM 2015 참가 결과와 지금까지의 KYAM의 활동, 그리고 향후 계획 등을 보고할 것이다.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of presentation-based instruction and to suggest a model of instruction targeted to the Korean intermediate level students learning English as a foreign language (EFL). To achieve this objective, the author examined how the acquisition of practical English through oral presentation would enhance the students' learning motivation, language abilities, and communicative competence in concrete situations. It was confirmed that the trained leader and systematic teaching and learning are needed to maximize the effects of presentation-based instruction. In doing so, the author compared and analyzed the collected data in order to support the validity of this teaching method. It was further pointed out that the teacher should have a close look at the roles of the presenter and learner in an effort to work out the usefulness of such an instruction model. The method of presentation in classroom settings would be a practical mode to attain the essential purpose of EFL teaching particularly to get over the drawbacks of Korean students' communicative competence. As a result, it would be an effective teaching method to meet the nation's long-standing demands for EFL education.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the students' perception of the learning support system of Korea Science Academy and to propose improvements to it. The impact of the science learning support system on 129 gifted students in Korea Science Academy (KSA) was estimated by using Likert-type items and the multiple-choice method approach for more comprehensive evaluation. The results of our investigation are as follows: First, the learning support system of KSA appears globally useful to the students. The list of educational usefulness to the students comprises, in the decreasing order of utility, classroom work, Internet, lab activities, reading rooms, library, research meetings and clubs, academic advisors (AA), SAF (Science Academy Fair), e-learning system, and finally colloquia by invited lecturers. Second, what the gifted students hope for in the realm of learning support from KSA are learning guides by subject teachers, presentation skill program, the constructions of on/off-line learning communities, etc. It seems that the results of this study would be helpful in improving the learning support system, and will provide useful information for planning the direction of future science-gifted education programs at the high-school level.

국제양돈수의학회(International Pig Veterinary Society ; I.P.V.S) 제14차 총회 및 학술대회가 1996년 7월 7일부터 11일까지 이태리 중북부의 대학도시 볼로냐(Bologna, Italy)에서 개최되었다. I.P.V.S.는 1969년에 영국의 캠브리지 (Cambridge, United Kingdom)에서 창립된 이래 1996년 현재 53개 회원국 1,700 여명의 회원을 확보하고 있으며, 세계 각국의 양돈과 수의학에 관심을 가지고 있는 학자, 생산자 그리고 관련업계 인사들의 학술$\cdot$기술 정보교류와 협력을 목적으로 매 2년마다 세계 주요도시를 순회 하면서 개최되고 있다. 앞으로 2년후(1998년도)에는 I.P.V.S.의 탄생국인 영국의 버밍햄(Birmingham, United Kingdom)에서 제 15차 총회 및 학술대회를 개최할 예정이며 2000년대에는 시드니 올림픽과 때를 맞추어 호주의 멜보른(Melboume, Australia)에서 제16차 총회를 개최하기로 결정되어 있다. 금년(1996년도) I.P.V.S 총회에는 우리나라에서 30개 기관/업체로부터 50여명이 참여한 바 있으며 총 27편 (구두 9편, 포스터 18편)의 학술논문을 발표하는 등 눈부신 활약을 보인 바 있다. 금년도 I.P.V.S. 총회의 특징은 돼지의 전염성 질병중 근래에 우리나라에서도 문제시 되고 있는 '돼지 생식기 호흡기 중후군 (Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome ; PRRS)'이 세계적인 관심의 대상이었으며, 이태리 양돈병리축산학회 (Societa Italiana di Patologia ed Allevamento dei Suini ; S.I.P.A.S) 주관으로 '돼지 적리 (Swine Dysentery)'에 관한 Satellite Symposium이 개최되었다는 점이다. WTO 이래 어려워지고만 있는 우리나라 축산업 분야중 그래도 비젼이 보이는 양돈산업과 관련하여, I.P.V.S.를 통하여 우리나라 수의업무의 세계화의 길을 찾아보고자, 1 국제양돈수의학회(I.P.V.S)의 역사 (양돈과 수의업무 전문가의 새로운 만남의 장), 2 I.P.V.S.에의 참여(제13차 방콕대회), 3 한국 수의사의 활약(제14차 볼로냐대회), 4 세계화의 길(제15차 버밍햄대회, 제16차 멜보른대회), 5 국내양돈의 문제와 우리가 해야할 일(수의업무 세계화의 길을 찾자)등의 순으로 적어보고자 한다.

In this study, we developed mobile contents and mobile learning system for learning of english presentation based on Android platform. First, the application including contents transfer system which enables contents run on Android platform was developed for learning of English presentation. Second, presentation contents which will be applied on the application were manufactured. The contents developed in this study are for learning English presentations. The contents are classified into two parts; Part 1 is for basic English presentations, and Part 2 is for advanced English presentations. Each part is made up with 9 units, and each unit is composed differently by topics. The number of whole chapter for both parts is 51. We analyzed the questionnaire responses with respect to UI satisfaction and satisfaction of the learning experience. The UI satisfaction results showed that 85% of the participants were satisfied at an ordinary or higher level with our system. And The satisfaction of the learning experience results showed that 95% of the participants were satisfied at the ordinary or higher level with our system.
