  • In this article, we discuss steering laws for control moment gyro cluster, which have been studied on the project, "Development of control moment gyro engineering model for middle-size spacecraft", supported by Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Korea. We compare performance of MP, SR, SR Escape/Avoidance steering laws and check each law's performance by simulations and experiments.

  • Singularity indices for steering law design of CMGs have been analyzed. Several qualitative criteria to evaluate the suitability of indices have been suggested. Fast calculation and consistency with the condition number of the input matrix are the most important ones. Based on these criteria, modified indices have been proposed. Properties of infinite value and finite value indices have been compared and an ad hoc method to combine those properties has been presented. Computer simulation results are given to verify the proposed method.

  • 본 논문은 복합사이클 발전플랜트의 폐열회수 보일러 최적운전 및 최적설계에 대한 새로운 접근 방법을 도출하기 위해 폐열회수 보일러에서 발생되는 증기로 증기터빈을 구동하는 하부사이클 효율을 검토하였다. 열역학 제1법칙 해석을 통해 하부사이클 에너지 평형을 검토하였고, 열역학 제2법칙을 통해 엑서지 평형을 검토하였다. 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 폐열회수 보일러를 설계하기 위해서는 열역학 제1법칙을 해석할 경우 하부사이클 전체를 해석하여야 함을 알 수 있다. 하지만, 열역학 제2법칙을 통한 엑서지 해석을 행할 경우 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 증발온도와 폐여회수 보일러에서 소모되는 엑서지가 최소가 되는 점이 일치함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 논문을 통해 폐열회수 보일러에서 소모되는 엑서지 해석을 통해 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 폐열회수 보일러 최적화가 가능함을 알 수 있다.

  • CMG cluster which consists of four CMGs can be used to produce 3-axis torque. There are many issues that we have to investigate and validate when CMG cluster itself is developed. Thus, its ground validation and verification processes are essential. Therefore, CMG simulator which uses a torque sensor to calculate satellite attitude is proposed in this paper. Update and kalman filter are also proposed for gimbal angle problem occurred in development. The first way uses a calculated gimbal angle as a primary and a sensor angle as a scondary to reduce error. Also, the test results of specific CMG steering law as well as attitude control logic are presented as an example.

Electro-Optical Characteristics of an ICP Light Source Depending on Driving Temperature and Length of Discharge Tube (구동 온도와 방전관 길이에 따른 ICP 광원의 전기.광학적 특성)

  • We investigated the electro-optical characteristics of an ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma) light source depending on driving temperature, and length of discharge tube. An electro-optical stability of a sample at operating was measured to see a steady state of a sample. In this results, we can see that a stability of power loss and luminous flux of a sample at operating of upper 70[min] was 1.45[%1 and 0.36[%]. We measured the optical characteristics of a sample in a thermal chamber operated at a specific temperature divided into 5 steps. While luminance increased with temperature increasing, the decrement of luminance a eared at u or $46.7[^{\circ}C]$. According to Parchen's and Boyle-Charles' law, we can speculate that a pressure was increased and a higher voltage was needed but a ballaster having a rating power can't support a higher voltage corresponding to a pressure change, 0.02[Torr] at $46.7[^{\circ}C]$. Moreover, we measured an a lied power and current of samples depending to a various length of a discharge tube.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 선회구동장치의 최단시간으로 외란 및 시스템 불확실성에 강인한 구동을 위한 최단시간 강인제어기를 설계하는 것이다. 먼저 선회구동장치의 시스템 식별을 통해 플랜트의 전달함수를 유도하고 얻어진 전달함수를 이용하여 High-gain PDC와 RNTOC의 스위칭 함수를 정의한다. 그리고 각각의 제어 법칙을 적용하여 제어기를 설계한다. 두 제어기의 제어 성능을 시뮬레이션 및 실험으로 입증한다.

  • A new approach for maximizing torque capability of low efficient reaction wheel assembly is addressed in this paper. At first, to find out a solution in constrainted field, weighted pseudo-inverse and momentum minimized allocation are suggested instead of a general control allocation called pseudo-inverse. The second method is a structural manner to enlarge torque capability of specific axis by changing installed skew angle of wheels. Two proposed methods are applied to large angle maneuvers of satellite. Improvement of control performance and feasibility for applying to commercial satellite attitude control are demonstrated by numeric simulations.

  • This paper proposes fault tolerant control laws using sliding mode control and adaptation laws for a satellite with reaction wheel faults. Considering system parameter errors and faults uncertainties in the dynamics of satellite, the control laws were designed. It was assumed that only reaction wheel failures occurred as faults. The reaction wheel faults were reflected in the multiply form. Because the proposed control laws satisfy the Lyapunov stability theorem, the stability is guaranteed. Through computer simulation, it was assured that the proposed adaptive sliding mode controller has a better performance than the existing sliding mode controller under unstable angular rates.

  • This paper presents the theoretical analysis of a flow driven by surface tension and gravity in an inclined circular tube. A governing equation is developed for describing the displacement of a non-Newtonian fluid(Power-law model) that continuously flows into a circular tube owing to surface tension, which represents a second-order, nonlinear, non-homogeneous, and ordinary differential form. It was found that quantitatively, the theoretical predictions of the governing equation were in excellent agreement with the solutions of the equation for horizontal tubes and the past experimental data. In addition, the predictions compared very well with the results of the force balance equation for steady.

  • This paper deals with the attitude control of an underactuated spacecraft that has one single-gimbal variable-speed CMG. An underactuated spacecraft may not converge to arbitrary attitudes if its total angular momentum is not zero. To stabilize a spacecraft, the CMG has to align with the angular momentum in the inertial frame. Four different install configurations for the CMG have been considered and controllable angular momentums have been analyzed. Also, based on the backstepping method, stabilizing control laws have been presented and their properties have been compared.
