Design of Hydraulic Power Lifter for the Elder and the Handicapped (노약자용 휠체어 리프트 유압시스템 설계)

  • This study has been advanced to the design method for embodying the hydraulic circuit and control device in considering the safety for the development of wheelchair lift, using in the public transportation bus. Recently, mobility and accessibility occurs for the elder and the handicapped in the aging problem, In this paper, we design the hydraulic power system to operate lifter loading one wheelchair handicapped person and one's supporter to get in the bus. We develop the lifter safely. We check the trajectories of lifter inside frame box to protect its corrosion and the stress at the joints of mechanical structure. Those can be helped to keep the safety and accuracy of the multiple dynamic systems for precision quality assurance in mass production.

Traffic Safety Technology Proposal for Chungcheong Region (충청권 교통사고 특성을 고려한 교통안전기술 제안)

  • This study analyzed traffic accident characteristics in Chungcheong Region through the factor analysis, cluster analysis and questionnaire survey using traffic accident analysis data for Chungcheong Region in order to improve Korea's traffic safety level. Based on the analysis results, this study suggests traffic safety technologies suitable for the situation of Chungcheong Region. According to the results of the questionnaire survey carried out for transporters in Chungcheong Region, 'the passage of pedestrians and aged people' and 'a problem of lacking visibility' were the biggest threatening factors of major traffic accidents in Chungcheong Region. The facilities required the most were 'lighting equipment in driving at night', and the expected effect by the equipment installation was high. As a result of the factor analysis and cluster analysis using the traffic accident analysis data, traffic accident risk by city type in Chungcheong Region was higher in rural areas, compared to urban areas. Especially, this study confirmed the risks of pedestrian and agricultural machine traffic accidents were high. Therefore, this study suggests three technologies to improve traffic safety level in Chungcheong Region, based on the analysis results.

A Study on Analysis of Operating Cost Properties to Demand Responsive Transport System in Rural Areas (농어촌지역 수요응답형교통(DRT)의 운행비용 특성분석)

  • Recently, improving public transport service at disabled people has emerged as a social issue in rural areas. By improving expensive and inefficient existing operating system, the rural bus have to change a personalized service. Under these circumstances, government and local governments are promoting the introduction of DRT(Demand response transport). DRT system is intended to promote the user's convenience. But, until now, in-depth research on the operating costs for the introduction of DRT is not well known. This study aims to look at changes in number of vehicle and operating costs before and after introduction of DRT. The results are as follows. Even though introducing DRT, total number of vehicles increases because it does not reduce the existing number of vehicles. And this study estimated to about 5 to 12 percent of the increase in the operating cost comparing before introduction of DRT. Therefore, The introduction of DRT in rural areas is a need to set the exact purpose as promote transportation convenience or cost efficiency.

  • As our society is becoming an aging society, there is an increasing number of the elderly. Recently, mobility handicapped like the elderly and the disable take part in many social activities. It is required public transportation systems for them. Already, the traffic policy for mobility handicapped including pregnant woman and child, has been established in many cities. Particularly, the convenience of mobility for the handicapped in the urban rail stations is depend on a pedestrian facilities like escalators and elevators. The pedestrian facilities have been built in urban rail stations without rules for mobility handicapped. To make the more convenient and more safe stations, the more study about mobility handicapped and non-mobility handicapped is needed. This paper preferentially discusses the pedestrian facilities with other convenience facilities in urban rail stations. This paper explains also their preference, relative satisfaction and importance for the convenience facilities including the a pedestrian facilities in urban rail stations and makes clear the difference between both groups.

  • There are about 2.4million disabled in Korea, 2009. Also, Korean society entered into an aging society. Therefore disable and elderly are getting more involved in our society. This study proposes simple ramp design for wheel chair users and welding method and condition for manufacturing. In the middle of ramp, screw jack and motor are installed so that ramp can be moved left and right side. To make the ramp moves easily, ramp was fixed by installing LM guide on both sides. Ramp production for using Nd:YAG laser certain dissimilar welding in stainless steel sheet and cold reduced carbon steel. The output was fixed by 3kW, the speed was increased to 2~7m/min, Argon was used as shielding gas and the flow rate was changed to 10~30L/min. The proper welding condition is the output 3kW and welding speed 2~5m/min.

  • A wheel chair lift can be useful to make a social integration by expanding the economical and cultural activities through enhancing the mobile areas for the mobility handicapped. This research is about the guide when designing a wheel chair lift which extracted demands of wheel chair riders by the new paradigm of the high-speed railroad and social integration by securing the mobile areas and analysis on the user. Also the basic size was extracted to be applied to the design through analysis on the outer size of wheel chairs and researches on their mobility. The wheel chair lift design guideline was offered by reviewing the current law on wheel chair lifts.

  • 음 배리어 프리(acoustic barrier-free)는 '음과 관련하여 장애인과 고령자의 생활에 불편을 주는 장벽을 제거하는 방안'이라고 정의 된다. 음 배리어프리는 건축, 도시 공간 및 교통 수단에서의 시각 또는 청각약자를 위한 안내, 유도, 경보 및 피난 시설에 대한 설계와 관련된다. 또한 보청기 등의 청각지원기기, 전자기기 등의 신호음 및 안내음과 음성 전송 장치와 같은 제품 디자인에도 음 배리어프리 개념은 요구된다. 본고에는 일본사례를 중심으로 음 배리어프리의 현황을 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Age Group of Elderly Driver's Accident Characteristics (고령 운전자 연령별 사고특성 분석에 대한 연구)

  • 현재 고령자는 65세 이상으로 정해져 있고 고령 운전자 사고에 관련된 연구들은 65세를 기준으로 일반 운전자와 고령 운전자를 구분한다. 하지만 실질적으로 교통약자로 분류되어야 하는 신체 능력을 가진 고령 운전자를 구분하는 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 분석결과 차종별 주요 사고특성에 대해 70세 이상의 경우 사고 발생에 미치는 영향력이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 70~80세 구간에서 사고 발생 빈도가 상대적으로 낮았던 승용차에 대해서도 주요사고특성을 분석한 결과 75~84세 구간에서 사고 발생에 대한 영향력이 높아지는 것이 나타났다. 이는 고령화가 진행되고 평균 수명이 늘어나 고령자 구간 폭도 증가하기 때문에, 고령자 내에서도 특성이 나뉘게 되고 본 연구를 통해 연령군집별로 사고 발생에 대한 영향력이 달라지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 서울시에서 시범 운영을 진행 중인 스마트쉘터를 우선으로 설치해야 하는 지역을 제안한다. 행정동별 유동 인구뿐만 아니라 교통약자, 폭염, 대기오염을 고려한 클러스터링을 통해 우선순위를 부여한 서울시 스마트쉘터 설치 지역을 제안하였고, 이를 통해 스마트쉘터를 효율적으로 설치할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • This paper developed social equity indicators for evaluation of bus networks. This paper divided the social equity is into 4 categories such as horizontal equity, horizontal accessibility, vertical equity, and vertical accessibility and social equity was defined as integrated concept of these individual indicators. A simulation was performed by using the newly developed indicators to the toy network. On the basis of the simulation result, the social equity indicators are significant to the relative comparison for each zone. And, it was proved that optimal bus network alternative could be different depending on inclusion of the social equity indicators. Thus, it enabled to evaluate the bus network, as a public resource, considering not only the economic efficiency but also social equity. This paper suggested evaluation method for bus network considering social equity using indicators newly developed.
