Selection of Long-Term Pavement Performance Sections for Development of Distress Prediction Model in National Asphalt Pavement (국도 아스팔트 포장 파손예측모델 개발을 위한 장기 관측 구간 선정에 관한 연구)

  • Special pavement test sections were selected to develop a distress prediction model on asphalt pavement of National Highway. Experimental design was conducted for the selection of LTPP sections on in-service pavement(new and overlaid pavement) using several variables affecting pavement performance. Preliminary sections that satisfied the design template were chosen from the national highway database, and final selection was fixed through field inspection. The number of monitoring section is 95 including 47 overlaid pavement. A pavement distress data such as crack and rutting were collected for two years. An interim pavement performance analysis was peformed to show feasibility of performance monitoring program. Data related pavement such as traffic, weather, material characteristic and crack etc. should be collected for next project years and distress prediction model will be developed through the statistical analysis.

Study on the Autonomous Vehicle Feature for the Elderly Driver (Focusing on Interaction Design) (고령운전자를 위한 자율주행차량 기능 연구 (인터랙션 디자인을 중심으로))

  • Korea entered the aged society in 2018 with the elderly population accounting for 14.4% of the total population, and it is expected to enter the super-aged society in 2026. In particular, it is predicted that by 2050, the elderly population will be 38% of the total population, making it one of the countries with the highest number of elderly people in the world. The increase in the elderly population is naturally leading to an increase in the number of traffic accidents among elderly drivers, in 2017, there were 26,713 elderly driver accidents over 65 years of age, with 848 people dying and 38,627 injured. Compared with 2011, the number of accidents and injuries has doubled and the number of deaths has increased 1.4 times. This study determined that the main factors of the increase in traffic accidents were the characteristics of elderly drivers, such as a decrease in visual/hearing ability, cognitive and information processing ability, and muscle strength. Therefore, it raised the necessity of autonomous vehicle(level 2) for elderly driver who can minimize the burden of driving and aimed to study the function of autonomous vehicle for elderly driver who is not familiar with new technology. Based on this, four functions of autonomous vehicles for elderly drivers were derived, such as providing clear information according to the road environment, considering physical characteristics of drivers, simplifying interface, and reinforcing in-vehicle safety devices.

Estimation of Service Life for Expressway Bridge Subjected to Chloride Ingress from De-icer (동절기 제설제 사용에 대한 고속도로 교량의 내구수명 평가)

  • This paper aims to estimate the service life of the target bridge structures subjected to chloride ingress from de-icer, which is used for safety of vehicles in winter, by investigating the chloride ingress into concrete. In this study, the 10-year-old bridge structures were investigated by measuring the chloride along the depth from the exposed surface to derive the surface chloride concentration and the diffusion coefficient for the prediction of service life. The service life of each measured point on the structures were estimated with the surface chloride concentration and the diffusion coefficient by using Life-365 software. As a result, it was estimated for all measured points to have over 100-year service life. Furthermore, the diffusion coefficient and the service life from the measured data were compared to another method calculated with the concrete mix, considering the time dependency of diffusion coefficient.

북극항로 운항 선박의 항해안전지원시스템(KARS) 개발 개요

  • 지구 온난화로 인해 여름철 북극해의 해빙이 점차 감소함에 따라서 북극항로를 이용한 선박의 화물운송이 점차 증가하고 있다. IMO에서는 극지해역운항선박의 안전성과 해양오염방지를 위하여 2014년에 Polar Code를 개정하였으며, 2017년 1월부터 SOLAS협약과 MARPOL73/78협약에 추가되어 시행되고 있다. 본 연구는 해양수산부 해양안전 및 해양교통시설기술개발 사업으로 1) Polar Code 강제화에 따라 '극지해역 운항선박용 항해안전지원시스템의 개발'의 필요성과 2) 북극항로에 대한 국적선의 안전 운항 확보를 위한 '북극권 국가와의 국제협력 및 공조체계 구축'과 '극지 구난, 구조 및 환경보호 관련 국내법 및 규정 제정'을 위한 기반 연구의 필요성에 의거하여 2014년 11월 10일에 시작되었으며 2018년 12월 31일에 종료될 예정이다. 연구내용은 1) 고정밀도 북극항로 빙상정보 수치예측 시스템 개발, 2) 북극항로 안전속도 예측, 평가, DB구축 및 항행 모델 개발, 3) 북극항로 안전운항을 위한 항해계획 기술 개발, 4) 북극항로 운항선박 건조 및 안전항해 가이드라인 개발이다. 본 논문에서는 개발 중인 KRISO Arctic safe Routing System (KARS)에 대한 소개와 활용 결과 및 향후 계획에 대해서 설명하고자 한다. 본 KARS는 향후 지속적인 수정보완 작업을 통해서 완성도를 높여갈 예정이며, 검증단계를 거쳐서 최적하고 안전한 항로와 운항 관련 정보를 선사와 해기사에게 제공함으로서 북극항로 중 단기 운항계획 수립과 안전 운항을 지원할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Purpose: This study builds a database by collecting and refining disaster occurrence data and real-time weather and atmospheric data. In conjunction with the public data provided by the API, we propose a service model for the Big Data-based Urban Safety Index. Method: The plan is to provide a way to collect various information related to disaster occurrence by utilizing public data and SNS, and to identify and cope with disaster situations in areas of interest by real-time dashboards. Result: Compared with the prediction model by extracting the characteristics of the local safety index and weather and air relationship by area, the regional safety index in the area of traffic accidents confirmed that there is a significant correlation with weather and atmospheric data. Conclusion: It proposed a system that generates a prediction model for safety index based on machine learning algorithm and displays safety index by sector on a map in areas of interest to users.

  • An effective algorithm for implementation of which detects moving object from image sequences. predicts the direction of it. and drives the camera in real time is proposed. In static camera, for robust motion detection from a dynamic background scene, the proposed algorithm performs statistical modeling of moving objects and background, and trains the statistical modeling of moving objects and background, and trains the statistical feature of background with the initial parts of sequence which have no moving objects. Active camera moving objects are segmented by following procedure, an improved order adaptive lattice structured linear predictor is used. The proposed algorithm shows robust object tracking results in the environment of static or active camera. It can be used for the unmanned surveillance system, traffic monitoring system, and autonomous vehicle.

  • It can be expected, recently, that the traffic congestion grows worse because the 48% of passenger cars are concentrated in the metropolitan area. However, there is an enforcement regulation that must limit onsite parking lot establishment in some downtown, so it is forecasted that parking lot supply is insufficient. Therefore, this study concentrate upon the subject that solves the problem which drivers are difficult to find parking lots because of increasing demand for parking. This study includes the concept about walking distance because the choice of parking lots is happened within walking distance. The algorithm of this study applies to toy-network, and then this study analyze the result of toy-network. It is proper to consider user's preference because the patterns of choice are different. Moreover, this study suggests the vision that will can offer drivers more correct information by real time information sharing in course of ubiquitous age.

  • This paper describes the vision-based system to track road signs from within a moving vehicle. The proposed system has the standard architecture with particle filter due to its robust tracking performance in complex environment. In the case of tracking road signs in real environment, it has a great difficulty in predicting time series data by reason of an occlusion due to an obstacle and the rapid change of objects on roads. To overcome this problem and improve the tracking performance, this paper proposes the algorithm using an autoregressive model as an state transition model which has affine parameters as states and using robust statistics for determining occlusion due to obstacles. The experiments of this paper show that the proposed method is efficient for real time tracking of road signs and performs well in road signs under occlusion due to obstacles.

  • 자율주행차는 센서와 인공지능으로 차량의 위치와 주변 상황을 인지하고 주행 경로를 계획하여, 자동차 스스로 교통법규에 따라 주행하는 차량이다. 이는 4차 산업혁명의 주역으로 2020년 상용화 될 전망이다. 2020년 자율주행차 세계 시장규모는 189억 달러로 예측되고 이를 위해 각국의 자동차사, ICT 업체들이 시장 선점을 위해 치열하게 경쟁하고 있다. 자율주행 상용화를 위한 기술적 해결 이슈로는 센서, 인공지능, 빅데이터 분석, 기능안전, 정밀지도, 신뢰성 높은 차량통신, 차량 SW 플랫폼, 차량 사이버 보안 등이 있다. 이러한 기술적 이슈가 해결되어야 2020년 자율주행차 시대를 맞이하고 새로운 시장이 열리게 될 것이다. 자율주행차 상용화를 위해서 차량, ICT 기술, 도로 인프라 등 산업 융합 및 기업체 간 협업이 기술개발과 사업화를 성공시키는 중요한 열쇠가 될 수 있다는 것을 강조하며, 이번 특집호를 통해 자율주행 실현을 위한 핵심기술 및 표준화에 대한 전체적인 흐름과 방향을 파악하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

  • 현재 IC 카드는 통신, 금융, 교통 등의 여러 응용 서비스에서 널리 사용되고 있는데, 계속적인 하드웨어 기술의 발전으로 인한 메모리 증가, CPU 성능 향상과 통합된 정보 가전을 위한 다양한 형태의 네트워크 연결 인터페이스 구축 노력이 다중 응용 프로그램 사용 요구 및 개방형 운영체제(open-platform operating system)와 맞물려 도약적인 기술 발전을 이루고 있다. 본 고에서는 널리 사용되고 있으며 향후 시장성이 가장 클 것으로 예측되는 자바 카드 플랫폼 탑재 IC 카드의 기술 현황을 H/W 및 S/W 측면에서 살펴보고, 자바 카드 기술의 발전 동향을 조망하고자 한다.
