Development of an Interface Module with a Microscopic Simulation Model for COSMOS Evaluation (미시적 시뮬레이터를 이용한 실시간 신호제어시스템(COSMOS) 평가 시뮬레이션 환경 개발)

  • The COSMOS is an adaptive traffic control systems that can adjust signal timing parameters in response to various traffic conditions. To evaluate the performance of the COSMOS systems, the field study is only practical option because any evaluation tools are not available. To overcome this limitation, a newly integrated interfacing simulator between a microscopic simulation program and COSMOS was developed. In this paper, a detector module and a signal timing module as well as general feature of the simulator were described. A validation test was performed to verify the accuracy of the data flow within the simulator. It was shown that the accuracy level of information from the simulator was high enough for real application. Several practical comments on further studies were also included to enhance the functional specifications of the simulator.

  • To evaluate the effects of transportation system operation, usually measures of effectiveness(MOE) such as travel time, space mean speed, stop/delay ratio have been used. But, energy consumption as well as the existing MOE in transportation receives more attention as an alternative MOE in transportation operation. The purpose of this study is a development of procedure, which could measure the relative energy consumption for each alternative and compare the results. A mesoscopic simulator called INTEGRATION is used to evaluate the operation of high occupancy vehicle lane, signal optimization, lane expansion, and the application of ITS. Among those, the application of ITS shows the greatest effectiveness in energy reduction, and then lane expansion, signal optimization, and the operation of high occupancy vehicle lane in the order named. Because we don't consider the characteristics of vehicle class, Potential demand and the simulation time is just for an hour. it is recommended that a procedure for precise economic analysis and an improvement in methodology are needed in the future for the expanded application of this study.

  • In Busan, the structural limitations of the road, is causing severe traffic congestion and low speed of the vehicle. So the existing traffic control system needs improvements to its structure. A study on Optimal Traffic Signal System and Improvement for User Oriented Public Transit Service are required. U-city is a city or region with ubiquitous information technology. All information systems are linked, and virtually everything is linked to an information technologies. U-Traffic goal is to maximize of traffic information services based on advanced information technology to integrate of transportation infrastructure. The objectives of this research are : a vehicle detection method through a variety of sensors, an algorithm of the traffic signal system, a design and implementation a simulator to compare between the fixed traffic signal and adaptive traffic signal system. This simulator will have allowed analysis techniques for the study of traffic control. Results of simulator test shows that traffic congestion can be some reduce.

  • This study is to investigate the effects of driving anger and traffic congestion on drivers' behaviors. Driving anger is the propensity to become angry while driving, and people differ in the tendency to get angry when encountering frustration and provocation on the road. Individual differences of the propensity contribute to anger on the road and aggressive driving leading traffic vaiolations and accidents. In the experiment three traffic conditions (an open road condition, a bumper-to-bumper traffic condition and a being stuck behind a slower driver condition) were simulated and driving behaviors were collected with RTSA-DS(Road Traffic Safety Authority-Driving Simulator). The results were as follows: Most of high anger drives drove at higher speeds in an open road condition, and in the bumper-to-bumper condition they drove faster and had an higher crash rate, which suggests they did aggressive driving, and risky and unsafe behaviors.

  • This paper introduces the simulation system which was developed to evaluate the effectiveness of ITS, and presents its adaptabilities to traffic signal control systems. The simulation system in this paper has a function of real-time testing and evaluating traffic control systems. It consists of Modu-RE which is a simulation operating software and Real-CID which is a controller interface device. Real-CID allows Modu-RE to communicate with traffic control hardware.

제주 민군복합형 관광미항 크루즈 선박조종시뮬레이션

  • 2013년 11월 27일 구성된 제주 민군복합형 관광미항 크루즈 선박조종 시뮬레이션 시현 TF팀은 2013. 1. 17~18일 한국해양과학기술원에서 3차원 다기능 선박조종시뮬레이터(Full Mission Ship-Handling Simulator)을 이용하여 도선사 4명이 주, 야간 및 입선, 출선자세 접안 16개 시나리오를 가지고 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 평가 기법은 "해사안전법"의 해상교통안전진단 시행지침(국토해양부 고시 제2012-129호(2012.3.21.), 해상교통시스템 적정성 평가(선박조종시뮬레이션, 통항안전성 및 접 이안안전성 평가)를 준용하였다. 시뮬레이션 평가 결과 근접도에 따른 충돌[침범] 확률이 $10^{-4}$미만이고, 운항자[주관적] 평가의 결과가 평균 -2.0 이하로 해상교통환경 변화에 따른 통항안전성 및 접이안 안전성 확보가 가능하다고 평가되었다.

  • The working-day movement model, which implemented in the ONE simulator, supports the environments similar to the real life by using the transportation. However, there is no taxi movement model in the working-day movement model. So, we implemented a taxi movement model in the ONE simulator as the previous work. It is changed significantly for the simulation results of routing protocols in the ONE simulator. In this paper, we analyze the performance evaluation of the DTN routing protocol such as an epidemic routing protocol using our taxi movement model in the ONE simulator.

항로표지 시뮬레이터 적용을 위한 3D 모델링

  • 우리나라 항만 입출항 통항 선박의 대형화, 고속화에 따른 해양안전사고가 증가하고 있어 항만 연안 해역에서의 해상교통안전 확보가 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정으로, 최근 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서 항로표지 설계와 배치계획에 대한 의사결정을 지원할 수 있는 항로표지 전문 기능 시뮬레이터의 개발과 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계 및 계획 등을 검증할 수 있는 시스템 필요성을 제기하였다. 우리나라 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계와 적정 배치 여부 등을 검증하고 보완할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템이 필요하며 3차원 가상현실 기법을 이용하여 항로표지의 신설 및 이설에 따른 여러 가지 효과를 직관적으로 파악하고 대상 해역의 특성이 고려된 다양한 해상교통 환경 변화에 따른 항로표지의 신설 및 이설 효과를 선박 운항자 관점에서 검증하거나, 새로운 항만 항로 건설시 최적 항로표지 배치에 대한 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 항로표지용 시뮬레이터 시스템 개발이 진행되고 있다. 이러한 항로표지 시뮬레이터 개발에 필요한 항로표지 관련 3D 모델링의 구현 방법과 종류에 대하여 기술하였다.

  • 본 논문은 교통 신호 제어 알고리즘들의 성능을 비교하기 위한 복합교차로 시뮬레이터를 구현하였다. 기존의 교통 시뮬레이터들은 단일교차로를 대상으로 하거나 텍스트 모드로 동작하는 경우가 많았다. 논문의 시뮬레이터는 Visual C++의 MFC 라이브러리를 사용하여 n $\times$ n 형태를 갖는 복합교차로에 적합하도록 객체지향적으로 구현되었으며, 성능 비교를 위하여 제어 알고리즘들을 별개의 윈도우에서 처리하기 쉽도록 MDI 방식을 사용하였다. 개발한 시뮬레이터는 그래프 윈도우와 맵 윈도우의 편리한 사용자 인터페이스, 논리시간 설정을 통한 다목적 시뮬레이션, 다양한 성능평가 출력 등의 특징을 갖는다. Abstract In this paper, we implemented a multiple crossroad simulator to evaluate the performance of the traffic signal control algorithms. Most of existing traffic simulators were operated in text-mode or at a single intersection. We developed the object-oriented simulator suitable for multiple crossroads with n $\times$ n intersections by using MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) library in Visual C++. The simulator was implemented by using MDI (Multiple Document Interface) scheme in order to process both control algorithms in separate windows respectively. Our simulator has the following features: user friendly interface with graph window and map window, multi-purpose simulations by setting logical time, and various forms of performance evaluation.
