An Analysis on the Effect of the University in Area Development (대학이 지역발전에 미치는 영향 -천안시를 중심으로-)

  • This study dealt with the effect of the university in area development to Cheonan city. This study ran parallel literature investigation and actual proof investigation. Questionnaires 394 enforce frequency analysis in SPSS 15.0 versions. University positive effect on local community is smooth supply of human capital in local community, increase of regional income, improvement of area image by expanded education opportunities, supply of various university facilities in local communities etc. Contradictory effect is expansion of gap for areas that young persons in local community taken to education of good quality leave other local community, occurrence of conflict by collision of new culture and culture of area characteristic. Role of university for area development is role of help consultation, symbolic role, educational role etc. But the weighed role is leading role which university leads area development. Finally, the prompting methods of university for local community development .must accomplish interchange of operational mode with high quality human resources activating removal of manpower between arithmetic.

  • Analyzing out the Key Tasks and Developing the Professional Type of National Librarians through Job Analysis was made, because improving the professionalism of librarians is the strategy of survival in the competency based society. It is composed of 22 duties, 216 tasks of national librarian job and 96 key tasks is extracted among them. As the results, 12 types of professional librarian which is composed 10 function oriented types, and 2 user oriented types, is suggested: collection development librarian, cataloger taxonomist, information service librarian, reading coach, research librarian of international standards, database & system manager, international work librarian, national support librarian, marketing librarian, library literacy librarian, children' librarian, handicapped service librarian.

  • There are successful multinationals like McDonald's, and International hotel chain. The reason is efficiency managing diversity workforces. Therefore, purpose of this study suggests practical guidelines to handling global workforce for creative ideas, diversity for network, and pool for superiority workforces. 1. The company or university we provided by training program for cross-culture seminar, and education program for global culture & manner. 2 The employees express their perceptions and feelings in their own language, the discussions were videotaped, and used for decreasing misfactors such as misperceptions, misevaluations, and mistrust. 3. It builds up various program for understanding cultural difference like seminar, world business manner, and costume & food culture for each country. 4. Top manager should keep in mind that cross-culture has diversity and consistency at the same time.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest the method the fourth grade who haven't experienced with online project learning can perform the on-line project learning efficiently. And it is to see if there are any effects and improvement in using ICT after applying the online project learning system to the real school environment. For this, after analyzing the curriculum of Grade 4 in elementary school and abstracting some factors to improve the Information utilizing ability, I chose 12 topics of project learning. I built the on-line learning room and chose 6 topics among them. After practicing the project, I inspected the effects on them. And to understand the ICT-utilizing ability of the students, I analyzed if there were any improvement in ICT-utilizing ability with some questionnaires which consist of information collecting, information processing, and information interchanging according to the standards of Information utilizing ability of elementary and middle school students.

  • In this study, learning preferences of the informatics gifted participating in on-line programming practice has been investigated and the tutoring strategy based on learning styles was developed and verified its effectiveness. On-line programming learning is the environment in which learning is done through interaction with a tutor. For determination of the students' learning styles, Grasha-Reichmann's learning style was utilized. Key elements, learning activity and feedback, of tutoring strategy were derived based on learning style and developed on-line programming learning tutoring strategy. To verify the effectiveness, six-class period of learning C-language of 173 middle and high school students based on learning styles was applied for 12 weeks. As a result, the experiment group applied with a tutoring strategy based on the learning style showed significant improvements in terms of satisfaction and achievement than the control group.

  • Soo-Yeoun Kim & Ji-Eun Kim 2016. A Study on ESP Skating English Education Based on Job Analysis. This study aims to provide skating ESP(English for Specific Purposes) education model for skating instructors in Korea. For this purpose, a total of twenty-seven professional skating instructors were surveyed according to a questionnaire, which asked about their English skills and perspective of the importance of English study and English skating class. The main results are as follows: most skating instructors' confidence in their English is low; majority of them answered that English study is needed for skating instructors; a majority of them want English teaching that focused on speaking and teaching activities. After that, skating instructors' jobs were analyzed using the DACUM(Developing A Curriculum Method). A DACUM committee extracted the duties and tasks which require English education and conducted a survey that targeted skating instructors. When interpreting the study on ESP Skating English Education based on job analysis, it was evident that the English language would be essential for enabling effective communication with judges during national sports competitions, information exchange with foreign skaters, and for technical skating instructions.   • This study examined the present condition of the closed elementary school in the Yeongi province, where much of the area will be transformed into the city of Se-Jong, and suggested the renewal plan in the future. Among the twelve(12) schools, eight(8) that have transferred to private sectors were analyzed in respect to lot size, present usage, surroundings, means of approach, and distance from the most populated area, ect.. Additionally, interview with the management official of school board was taken in place. The findings include: two(2) schools that are located nearer then others to the newly-born city can be rehabilitated as educational facility, such as training institute and cultural experience place. Other six(6) schools can be utilized as senior citizens' center, community center, medical substation, hobby farm, or even community warehouse.

  • In order to improve an efficiency of education and acquisition of PACS administor in Radiological technologist, we implement an e-Learing databank system providing more efficiently provide medical questions set for the integrated education and PACS administor without the limitation of time and space based on XML that is the standard of exchange and transmission of Web documents via Internet. The proposed system is composed of administration module and user module. The former supports some functions: a creation, classification, and management of Radiological question set. Our system can elevate ability of learning and interchange of information among Radiological technologist making preparation of PACS administor for Radiological technologist examination. Finally, our system can maximize an effectiveness of education by evaluating and training users individually with various level according to the user's ability of learning and realization.

Comparative Analysis on the Statistics of Academic Libraries of Major Universities in South Korea and North America (국내 및 북미 주요 대학의 도서관 통계 비교 분석)

  • This study aims to compare the statistical indicators of libraries of 57 Korean universities and 116 North American universities using Rinfo and ARL statistics respectively. The authors compared twelve similar statistical indicators and found that North American academic libraries were superior in 'volumes in library', 'electronic books', 'total staff', 'total library materials expenditures', 'total items borrowed', 'total items loaned', 'library presentations to groups', and 'participants in group presentations', compared to Korean academic libraries. Although Korean academic libraries showed higher numbers in 'annual gate count', 'reference transactions', 'initial circulations', and 'full-text article requests', there exist some differences in definitions and scopes of these indicators between Rinfo and ARL, needing cautious interpretation of results. The findings of the study imply the needs of expanding support for academic libraries that play pivotal roles in increasing competitiveness of teaching and research of universities. It was also found that systematic management and improvement for statistical indicators of Rinfo are necessary.

Development of concentration measurement system in online education based on OpenCV (온라인 교육을 위한 OpenCV 기반 집중도 측정 시스템 개발)

  • There have been many developments and innovations in the educational environments in line with the rapidly evolving information age. E-Learning is a representative example of this rapid evolution. However, E-Learning is challenging to maintain students' concentration because of the low engagement level and limited interactions between instructors and students. Additionally, instructors have limitations in identifying learners' concentration. This paper proposes a system that can measure E-learning users' concentration levels by detecting the users' eyelid movement and the top of the head. The system recognizes the eyelid and the top of the head and measures the learners' concentration level. Detection of the eyelid and the top of the head triggers an event to assess the learners' concentration level based on the users' response. After this process, the system provides a normalized concentration score to the instructor. Experiments with experimental groups and control groups were conducted to verify and validate the system, and the concentration score showed more than 90% accuracy.
