At-Risk Adolescents' Inner Resource Through Resource-Oriented Song Psychotherapy (자원지향 노래심리치료를 통한 위기청소년의 심리적 자원 형성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how inner resources of at-risk adolescents evolved through resource-oriented song psychotherapy (RoSPT). For this study, an RoSPT program was developed based on existing literature. Eight weekly group sessions of the RoSPT program were conducted with 25 adolescents who were under probation of prosecution. After completion of the program, 10 of the adolescents participated in individual interviews about the experience of RoSPT. Transcriptions of the interviews were analyzed via content analysis. The results identified nine types of inner resources that were utilized by the participants: hope/desires, challenge, endurance, sense of achievement, sense of competence, pride, discovering true self, courage, and internal locus of evaluation. The study supports that RoSPT can be applied to enhance inner strength of at-risk adolescents who often lack contextual and relational support. Further studies on qualitative exploration of resource formation can be helpful.

  • Patient education is one of the most important roles of a physical therapist. Physical therapists have to teach and provide information about illness, instruct for home exercise, and give advice relating to correct posture and daily activities et al. For an efficient education some strategies are required. The purpose of this article is to review general learning methods, to introduce elements that influence the procedure of patient education and learning, and to plan an education strategy.

A Convergence Study on the Relationship between Impact of Event, Health Beliefs and Adherence to Self-Care Guideline for COVID-19 (코로나-19 유행으로 인한 사건충격, 건강신념 및 자가치료지침 수행 간의 관계에 관한 융합연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine whether impact of event and health beliefs affect adherence to self-care guidelines in the general public. The participants were 331 adults living in the Daegu/Gyeongbuk region. Data were collected using an online survey. The collected data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis and Process Procedure (Model 4). The results reported impact of event had a significant direct effect on health beliefs, and health beliefs had a significant direct effect on adherence to self-care guidelines. Also, the mediating effect of health beliefs on the relationship between impact of event and adherence to self-care guidelines was significant. To facilitate health education among the general public, it is necessary to include educational content to establish health beliefs regarding novel diseases such as COVID-19.

  • 최근에 음성언어장애에 대한 언어치료사의 평가 및 치료 활동이 활발히 이루어지고 있으나, 음성평가 기준 및 치료 자료가 충분치 않은 것이 현실이다. 음성 평가를 실시할 때에도 각 치료실마다 음성 평가에 사용하는 장비가 달라 결과물의 해석에 다소 차이가 있으며, 또한 같은 장비를 사용함에도 불구하고 음성 자료를 수집하는 방법에 있어서 표준화된 절차 및 자료에 따라 평가를 하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 표준화된 측정절차에 대한 요구는 개인적인 기준으로 좌우될 수 있는 주관적인 평가에서는 더욱 절실하다. 음성의 지각적 평가에서 중요한 측면 중에 하나는 음성의 질에 정확한 판단 및 이에 대한 자료공유 및 정보교환이다. 현재 음성의 질에 대한 측정평가를 위해 제일 많이 사용되고 있는 방법 중 하나가 GRBAS 방법이 간편하여 임상적으로 많이 사용하나 음성의 질에 대한 세밀한 평가를 하는 데는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 음질을 평가하는데 있어서 자주 사용되는 음질 용어에 대한 우리말 용어를 통일의 필요성의 시급한 실정에 기초하여 이를 대표할 수 있는 음성샘플 자료의 구축마련을 위한 일종의 발제이다. 이러한 작업을 통해 각 음성 및 언어치료실에서 음성의 질에 대한 청지각적 평가에 공통 기준을 마련하고, 임상교육 적인 목적으로 청지각적 훈련 자료로 이용이 가능할 수 있으리라 사료된다. The relationship of Achievement Goal and Academic Achievement in Department of Occupational Therapy Students for Learner Centered Education Approach (학습자중심 교육 접근을 위한 작업치료학과 학생의 성취목표 지향성과 학업성취의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of academic achievement and the achievement goal of students of Department of occupational therapy in Gyeongnam Province. 106 students in the department of occupational therapy filled out a questionnaire. For this study, Elliot & Church's Achievement Goal and GPA were used. The achievement goal was subdivided into the mastery goal, the performance approach goal, and the performance avoidance goal. The GPA from the previous semester was used. The results of this study were as follows. Female students received higher grades on all of the Achievement Goals than male. The results of the performance approach goal decreased as the students' class seniority increased. The performance approach goal showed academic achievement correlated positively with performance approach, but correlated negatively with the performance avoidance goal. The negative achievement goal got lower as the seniority of students increased. On the basis of these results, an educational approach is necessary for the positive achievement goal where an understanding of the students' individual characteristics are account for in the achievement goal.

The Phenomenological Study on Work Experience of School-Based Occupational Therapists (학교 작업치료사의 근무 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구)

  • Objective : This study aimed to explore the meaning of work experience of school-based occupatioanl therapists. Methods : This study was a phenomenological study. The participants were 7 school-based occupational therapists, all of whom were female with working experience of 5 years. One-on-One interviews were conducted with them about their work experience as school-based occupational therapists, and additional interview details were confirmed by e-mail. The interviews were recorded with the consent of the subjects. The researcher listened to the recordings several times prior to transcribing and analyzed the interviews according to Colaizzi's research method. Results : A total of 2 themes and 10 sub-themes were derived. Challenges and hopes were drawn as themes. The challenges theme included sub-themes administrative work burden, restriction of physical environment, lack of awareness of teachers, unstable employment, and legal restrictions. There were sub-themes such as sense of mission for children, team members with the same goal, children who want school-based occupational therapy, teacher' satisfaction, and responsibility for the development of school-based occupational therapy. Conclusion : Institutional improvement and policy support for school-based occupational therapy should be prepared to provide qualitatively improved school-based occupational therapy for special education subjects.

Effectiveness of Pre-parents Education Program for Undergraduate Students through Filial Therapy (부모놀이치료를 이용한 대학생 예비부모교육 프로그램의 효과)

  • The purpose of this article was to describe the effectiveness of group filial therapy program for undergraduate students in the period of their pre-parenthood. The goal was to enhance empathy in adult-child interaction, to facilitate students' sensitivity to the child, and to reduce children's behavioral problems. The program was implemented once a week for 8 weeks. Each session was implemented for 120 minutes. The subjects were 13 undergraduate students(22-24 years old) and 13 children(4-10 years old). Pre and post-tests were implemented. After 8 week intervention program, there were significant differences between pre and post-tests. The undergraduate students improved in their empathy in adult-child interaction and enhanced sensitivity to child.

Characteristics and Effects of Lifestyle Interventions for Community Dwelling Older Adults: A Systematic Review (지역사회 노인을 대상으로 적용한 라이프스타일 중재의 형태와 효과에 관한 체계적 고찰)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the format and effects of lifestyle intervention provided to community dwelling older adults. This systematic review was written following the PRISMA guideline. Methods : The National Digital Science Library(NDSL), RISS, PubMed, and CINAHL were used to search for articles published from January 2008 to December 2017. In total, 20 articles were selected for the analysis and the risk of bias was screened through the Physiotherapy Evidence Database Scale. Lifestyle interventions in the articles were classified according to the disease of the participants. Results : Major contents of the lifestyle interventions were increased physical activity like moderately intensive exercise and education or training to help participants have a healthy diet. Of the 20 articles, 17 included more than 2 types of contents. Examining biochemical factors was the most common measurement among the multifaceted measurements used to assess the effects of lifestyle interventions. The results of the lifestyle interventions described in each article did not indicate congruent effects. 14 of the 20 articles reported the lifestyle interventions had significant effects. Conclusions : The results of this study could help practitioners select the contents of and provide lifestyle interventions to older adults. Further study on the various applications of lifestyle interventions in a community setting is necessary.

  • This study is a descriptive research study to analyze knowledge and attitude about CAM and aromatherapy for health department students in H8 university health department students(528 students) in Chungcheongdo-do. The results of this study showed that the treatment methods and therapeutic advantages of CAM showed a positive attitude and the recognition of the therapeutic effect on aromatherapy was somewhat higher. However, the knowledge level of aromatherapy was rather low. The students of the department of health science showed a relatively high awareness of the need for education in CAM, but aromatherapy showed a relatively low perception. Therefore, in order to reduce patient welfare and symptom in health department, it is necessary to develop knowledge training for knowledge application and effective treatment and development of clinical practice program for various treatment methods.

The Validation of the Play Participation Attitude Scale for Parents of Preschoolers (영유아 부모의 놀이참여태도 척도 타당화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to validate the Play Participation Attitude Scale for parents of preschoolers, which was developed by the Delphi survey. 447 parents of 9 daycare centers in Seoul and Incheon were recruited for this study and, finally, data from 339 parents were used to perform exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and reliability analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, factor analyses revealed that the global fit of the sensitively play (7 items), responsively play (6 items), and delightfully play(7 items) three-factor model was good. Second, the internal consistency of the Play Participation Attitude Scale was good. Third, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the current scale and the parents' playfulness scale, indicating concurrent validity. Finally, higher scores of the Play Participation Attitude Scale and its three factors significantly predicted lower scores of parenting stress and higher scores of the preschoolers' self-control ability. These findings revealed that this new measure to be both valid and reliable and specifically suggests what kind of attitude is appropriate for parents to adopt when participating in preschoolers' play.
