Arduino Compatible Modular Kit Design for Educational Purpose (모듈 기반 교육용 아두이노 호환 키트 설계)

  • With the curriculum revision by the ministry of education in 2015, informatics was required to be included in the secondary high school curriculum, and applied to elementary and high schools in order. In response to this trend, universities are also emphasizing programming education. Arduino is one of the famous tools for programming education, and the usefulness of it has been proven through various case studies. However, existing Arduino-based kits are not easy to use with limited hardware knowledge. It is also difficult to expand the kits in a way other than that given in the original design. In this paper, proposed is a new kit design that can solve the problems mentioned above. The proposed design is superior to existing ones in usability and scalability, and can be used in various ways according to the amount of prior knowledge. The proposed design is registered as a patent and development of a kit based on it is underway.

Development of an Easy-assemble Arduino Car Kit for Practice (쉽게 조립 가능한 실습용 아두이노 자동차 키트 개발 사례)

  • The objective of this study was to present an example of the development of an Arduino car kit for practice. First, problems in the existing Arduino car kit were analyzed and various prototypes were developed that reflected the improvement plan. The developed kit was applied to the education field to identify problems and improvements, following which it was corrected and supplemented for use as an Arduino car kit for final practice. The Arduino car kit can be used for various experiments and practices related to an Arduino car by using a combination of two car bodies consisting of an upper plate and a lower plate. When a method to couple the upper and lower plates was used, the car body could be easily and quickly configured without the need for bolts or nuts. The developed kit involves a simple and easy assembly method, and hence, the time required for assembling a car body is considerably short. Accordingly, it is expected to be widely used as a kit that can directly experience programming education using a car.

As a result, there is an increasing interest in programming in elementary and junior high schools as well as in universities. Arduino is one of the famous tools for programming education, and the usefulness of it has been proven through various case studies. However, existing Arduino-based kits have hardware-dependent drawbacks such as complicated wiring, poor scalability, etc. To overcome these problems, we proposed a kit design, which has a module-based structure, can be extended through one common interface, and can be used for learning at various levels. In this paper, we describe the implementation details of FRUTO kit and a software to use it, which satisfies the proposed design criteria. FRUTO kit has been determined in its current form through several design changes, and is under pre-test before launching.

  • Laboratory works for embedded system courses are usually performed with hardware based experimental kits that equipped with an embedded board and software development tools. Hardware-based kits have demerits such as high initial setup cost, burdensome maintenance, inadaptability to industry evolution, and restricted educational outcomes. This paper proposes using virtual experimental environments to overcome the demerits of hardware-based kits and describes the design and implementation of a simulation-based virtual experimental kit. With ARM's ARMulator, we developed the kit by adding hardware IPs and user interface modules for peripherals. The developed kit is verified with an experimental program that uses all the augmented software modules. We also ported MicroC/OS-II on the virtual experimental kit for real-time OS experiments.

  • 로봇 키트 등의 도구와 제어하기 쉬운 코딩 기법 등은 학생들에게 창의적인 융합 프로젝트를 할 수 있는 환경을 제공하는데 기여하고 있다. 이 논문은 진자의 왕복 운동을 물리적으로 다루면서 수학 도형을 생성하는 하모노그래프 장치를 만들고 아두이노 키트를 사용하여 향상시키는 중학생들의 사사과정 프로젝트를 소개한다. 그리고 과학(S), 테크놀로지(T), 공학(E), 수학적 접근(M)과의 관련성을 다루고 키네틱 예술 작품으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 탐구한다.

  • Recently, although the need of marine robots being raised in extreme areas, the basis is very deficient. Fortunately, as the robot competition is vitalizing and the need of the robot education is increasing, it is desirable to establish the basis of the R&D and industrialization of marine robots and to train professionals through the development and diffusion of marine robot kits. However, in conventional case, there is no underwater-type autonomous marine robot kit for the marine robot competition, which has the abilities of the underwater locomotion and target detection and avoidance. To solve this problem, a marine robot kit which has the abilities of the underwater locomotion, the waterproof and the weight adjustment, is developed. To verify the performance of the developed kit, test and evaluation such as surge, pitch, yaw, obstacle avoidance is performed. The test and evaluation results show that the possibility of the real applications of the developed kit.

  • In this paper, an educational kit that can be used in AI education was developed to solve the difficulties of AI education. Through this, object detection and person detection in computer vision using CNN and OpenCV to learn practical-oriented experiences from theory-centered and user image recognition (Your Own) that learns and recognizes specific objects Image Recognition), user object classification (Segmentation) and segmentation (Classification Datasets), IoT hardware control that attacks the learned target, and Jetson Nano GPIO, an AI board, are developed and utilized to develop and utilize textbooks that help effective AI learning made it possible.

  • In this paper, we design and implements editor for education multimedia content authoring based on avatar that use LipSynchro software development kit(SDK). This system automatically generate a movement of Avatar interworking with motion generation engine and phonetic tuning engine. thus, it is able to more excellent educational contents that combine educational multimedia contents authoring tool.
