Design of Web-Based Digital Contents for Cyber University (Cyber 대학을 위한 Web 기반 컨텐츠 설계)

  • The cyber university, which authoring systems for digital contents using multimedia technologies ate used for its courses, is highlighted to be a promising alternative for the current off-line education system. As the demand for the authoring system is constantly increasing, many systems, which emphasize the developers' convenience only, are currently used. Since the generated digital contents using these systems are failed to draw the learners' active interaction with contents, the new authoring system is expected to be existed. This paper presents, develops, and implements the new contents authoring system by using programing languages and/or software tools based on the storyboard. The presented, developed, and implemented system mimics the face-to-face education in off-line system, induces the users' active interaction with contents, and the effective evaluation system to the users.

A Study on the Analysis of Information Disclosure in School Libraries (학교도서관 정보공시 실태 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to propose the improvements by analyzing the actual state of Education Information Disclosure related to the school libraries of elementary and middle schools and by grasping its problems. In order to do that, we examined the Education Information Disclosure standards in school libraries in Korea. The actual state of information disclosure on 13 items related to school libraries was analyzed, using S High School in Seoul as a case study. In addition, in understanding the values of school libraries easily and informing them exactly through Education Information Disclosure, it was judged that the forms and guides for disclosure and the level of school introduction services were somewhat insufficient. On the basis of that, some improvements were proposed, which could help to make the operation and management of Education Information Disclosure in school libraries more efficient.

Usability and Accessibility Evaluation of South Korean and American Health-Related Websites for the Elderly (노인들을 위한 건강관련 웹사이트의 사용성과 접근성 평가)

  • 연구목적: 노인을 위한 건강정보 웹사이트들이 사용성과 접근성을 높이기 위해 지켜야 할 디자인 요소를 어떻게 반영하고 있는지 평가·비교함으로써 개선 방향을 제언하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 국내 및 미국에서 개발된 노인 대상의 건강정보 웹사이트를 각각 9개씩 선정하였다. 근거 기반의 웹디자인 지침서인 Make Your Website Senior Friendly: Checklist와 Research-based Web Design & Usability Guideline을 통합 수정하여 얻은 4개 영역의 평가 항목 48개를 적용해 두 명의 평가자가 선정된 총 18개 웹사이트를 평가하였다. 연구결과: '가독성' 영역 중 서체 선택, 줄 간격, 배경색과 글자색 선택 등은 양호하였으나 국내 웹사이트들 중에는 글자 크기가 조절되지 않는 경우가 빈번하였다. '정보의 표현과 구성' 영역에서 다수의 웹사이트들은 정보 배치 등이 우수하고 소비자 용어를 사용하는 노력을 보였다. 그러나 일부 국내 웹사이트들은 프린트 기능을 제공하지 않거나, 노인들의 저하된 인지 능력을 배려하려는 노력이 부족하였다. '미디어 사용' 영역에서 국내 웹사이트들은 글자 외에 다른 매체를 사용하는 빈도가 미국 웹사이트들에 비해 낮았고, 시청각 매체를 사용할 때는 동일한 내용을 문자로도 볼 수 있도록 하라는 권고안을 준수하지 않았다. '내비게이션과 검색의 용이성'에서는 메뉴나 링크의 명칭이 명확하며, 이용 중에도 쉽게 홈페이지로 돌아갈 수 있도록 구성되었다. 그러나 다수의 국내 사이트들이 사이트맵을 제공하지 않거나, 검색어의 철자오류 등에 대한 배려가 부족하였다. 결론: 국내 웹사이트들은 미국 웹사이트들에 비해 노인들의 사용성과 접근성을 높이는 것으로 밝혀진 연구 근거들을 제대로 반영하지 못하고 있었다. 노인 대상의 인터넷과 웹을 활용한 교육이 지속적으로 증가할 것이므로, 그 효과성을 높이기 위해 간호사들은 정보의 질 뿐만 아니라 디자인 측면의 중요성을 인식하고 실천할 수 있어야겠다.

  • 최근 국가균형발전을 위한 문화콘텐츠산업의 비중은 날로 커지고 있으며 디지털 컨버젼스의 중심으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 시대적, 사회적 요구에 즈음하여 정부의 지역문화 콘텐츠 육성 의지에 부합하는 전통건축물의 e-Learning을 위한 웹 기반 저작도구의 구현방법을 제안하고자 한다. 지금까지의 전통건축의 복원 및 재현은 전통적인 전수방식에 의존하거나 다분히 현상적인 수준에 그치고 있어, 우리 문화에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 전통건축물에 대한 저변의 확대와 보편적이고 대중적인 이해를 돕기에는 한계가 존재하는 것이 사실이다. 또한 전통건축에 관련한 교육자료는 대부분 고서(古書)나 텍스트에 의존하고 있는 것이 현실인 점을 감안할 때, 시각적이고 인터랙티브한 e-Learning 시스템의 연구는 필수적이라 할 것이다. 연구의 범위로서는 한국문화콘텐츠진흥원의 진행 중 사업인 문화원형복원사업인 "조선시대 탐라순력도의 디지털콘텐츠 개발"의 내용을 토대로 하며, 조선 중기인 17세기 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축을 대상으로 하고 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 1) 17세기 중엽 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축물에 대한 가구구조의 형성관계 및 그 형상을 디지털화하기 위한 데이터 체계를 제안하고, 2) 이에 따른 웹 기반의 가상전시 및 e-Learning 콘텐츠를 위한 시스템 구축의 프로토타입을 제시하며, 3) 상기 제시한 데이터 체계에 근거한 사용자 중심의 전통건축물 재현을 위한 3차원 저작환경 및 그 인터페이스를 제시한다. 이 결과로 전통건축물의 형성원리를 이해하고 전통 양식에 근거한 창의적 저작이 가능한 환경을 제시함으로써 멀티미디어 저작물 및 디자인 협업, 전통건축 유지보수 분야 등에 파급효과를 기대할 수 있다. 더불어 제안된 내용에 근거한 향후 연구로 전통건축물에 대한 일관되고 통합적인 관리방안과 그 실현수단에 대한 논의를 비롯하여 전통문화를 소재로 한 디지털 콘텐츠의 활용방안 및 그 부가가치에 대한 논의가 병행되어야 할 것이다.

Paradigm Shift of Digital Divide and Intellectual Digital Divide (정보격차의 패러다임 전환과 지적 정보격차)

  • Due to the settlement of the ICT environment and the widespread dissemination of Net media, the quantitative digital divide based on access to information has evolved into the formation of a qualitative digital divide. In the current information environment where enormous amounts of information exist on the Internet, there is a deeper intellectual digital divide that is different from the existing quantitative and qualitative digital divide. This study identified the changes in digital divide resulted from the evolution of information environment and empirically verified the formation of the intellectual digital divide. It also demonstrated that the intellectual digital divide is not distinct from the existing quantitative and qualitative digital divide, but from differences in the intellectual capacity of the information based on the factors of the existing digital divide. In particular, it was confirmed that the educational and economic levels, which have been the key factors of the traditional digital divide, still form the quantitative and qualitative digital divide, and also act as the key factors in the formation of the intellectual digital divide.

Teacher's acceptance of digital games and related factors (학교 장면에서 디지털 게임 이용에 대한 교사의 수용도와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how teachers' acceptance of digital games is constructed in the school context and what factors influence teachers' acceptance. To do this, we conducted a survey on teachers, school counselors, and professional counselors in August 2016. A total of 250 data were analyzed. As a result, it was confirmed that the teachers' acceptance of digital game is composed of 5 factors - need for supervision, willingness to use, concern & monitoring, acceptance as alternative activities, acceptance efficacy. As a result of multi-variate multiple regression analysis, it was found that the teacher's age, the 2 factors of digital media literacy, the teacher's attitude toward student's digital game usage, and teacher's evaluation of the impact of digital games on school achievement have different effects on the 5 factors of teachers' acceptance. This study is meaningful to identify how teachers' acceptance of digital games is constructed and to explore the main factors affecting teachers' acceptance of digital games.

Design and Implementation of Interactive e-Learning Contents for OpenCourseWare (오픈코스웨어를 위한 인터렉티브 이러닝 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper deals with the design and implementation of interactive e-learning contents for OpenCourseWare. OpenCourseWare, also known as OCW began at MIT in October 2002. OCW is a free and open digital contents of high quality college and university level educational materials. In this paper, we have designed and implemented interactive e-learning contents for a regular course of introduction to java programing language and OCW of D University. We have developed a variety of multimedia elements, such as screen videos of practical exercise and animations in order to improve the effectiveness of learning. These e-learning contents are consist of interactive learning components that users can interact directly with. The e-learning contents developed in this study has been effectively applied to OCW and a regular course opened in the first semester of 2012.

Statistical Analysis on the Web Using PHP3 (PHP3를 이용한 웹상에서의 통계분석)

  • We have seen a rapid development of multimedia intustry as computer evolves and the internet has changed our way of life dramatically in these days. There we several attempts to teach elementary statistics on the web but most of them are based on commercial products. The need for statistical data analysis and decision making based on those analysis is growing. In this article we try to show one way of reaching that goal by using a server side scripting language PHP3 toghether with extra graphical module and statistical distribution module on the web. We showed some elementary exploratory graphical data analysis and statistical inferences. There are plenty of room of improvements to make it a full blown statistical analysis tool on the web in the new future. All the programs and databases used in our article we public programs. The main engine PHP3 is included as an apache web server module so it is very light and fast. It will be much better when the PHP4(ZEND) will be officially out in terms of processing speed.

  • During human development, rapid emotional growth develops in infancy, and emotional regulation affects positive emotional development. Therefore, it is important for infants to learn how to control their emotions in infancy. In this study, we propose music-based media content that can improve the emotional regulation ability of infants. In other words, this study suggests a projector-based interactive content that plays various musical instruments through movement of the body following the music on the basis of the Eurhythmics education. Children were asked to perform five instruments: bass, drums, tambourines, castanets, and maracas in their physical movements using their hands, arms, and legs, so that physical activity had a positive impact on the child's emotional regulation. This music - based interactive content is expected to provide an environment that can help improve the emotional regulation by concentrating the attention of children.

  • In this study, an analytical CRM for customer segmentation is exercised by integrating and analyzing the customer profile data and the access data to a particular web site. We believe that effective customer segmentation will be possible with a basis of the understanding of customer characteristics as well as behavior on the web. One of the critical tasks in the web data-mining is concerned with both 'how to collect the data from the web in an efficient manner?' and 'how to integrate the data(mostly in a variety of types) effectively for the analysis?' This study proposes a panel approach as an efficient data collection method in the web. For the customer data analysis, OLAF and a tree-structured algorithm are applied in this study. The results of the analysis with both techniques are compared, confirming the previous work which the two techniques are inter-complementary.
