Development of a Rich Media Framework for Hybrid IPTV (하이브리드 IPTV를 위한 리치 미디어 프레임워크 개발)

  • With the growing trends of communication- broadcasting convergence, a hybrid IPTV that supports both IP network-based on-demand media and terrestrial or cable-based broadcast media is gaining attraction. This paper proposes a rich media framework for hybrid IPTV with support of the latest H.264 codec. For this purpose, we design and implement a media component and a RIA run-time engine customized for TV with the hybrid media. The media component has been designed to provide a uniform and efficient application interface to the various playback methods for RF broadcast and IP-based stored or live media. For performance and portability, it exploits media stream abstraction, adaptive on-demand I-frame search, and automatic calculation of play duration. Based on the proposed media interface, we develop a RIA run-time prototype. It has been carefully designed to fully utilize the built-in graphic acceleration hardware for optimized rendering in the resource-constrained IPTV environments. Demonstration and experiment results validate the performance and usefulness of the developed framework. The framework is expected to be used effectively to support graphics and hybrid media in the applications of IPTV-based VOD, advertisement, and education.

  • This study aims to focus on realistic content of mixed-reality media, which has emerged as a new alternative due to COVID-19, we need to to investigate relevant cases in order to present the direction and prospect of development in preparation for the post-COVID19 era. Mixed-reality is a kind of media that expands physical abilities and it is widely used as a realistic type of content for education, training, performance, creation, game, and communication with acquaintances. Mixed-reality media will naturally permeate our daily lives like TV and the Internet in the post-COVID19 era. In the future, it will become a realistic content that can feel the five senses of human, which can be used whenever and wherever necessary, and also will become an emotional media that can stimulate human's emotions and enhance happiness. it means that it's not just communication.

  • 개인이 실시간 방송을 할 수 있는 개인방송은 게임, 스포츠, 교육을 비롯하여 시대의 흐름을 고려한 요리, 다이어트 등과 같은 광범위한 미디어 콘텐츠를 생산하고 있다. 최근에는 실감형 콘텐츠를 위해 360도 카메라와 이를 마우스, 터치스크린, 자이로센서를 이용하여 제어하는 방식들이 소개되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술들을 활용해 더 많은 콘텐츠를 생산하기 위해서는 기술을 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 제작자의 편리성을 고려한 기술 서비스의 제공이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 실감 콘텐츠 제작 편리성을 위한 개인방송용 NUI 기술 서비스에 대해 논하고자 한다. 콘텐츠의 다양성과 빠르게 변화하는 IoT 기기 확장성을 고려하여 이와 연동 가능한 제스처 인식, 음성 인식 등과 같은 비 접촉식 NUI 서비스 기술과 이를 활용해 방송 제공자가 편리하게 다양한 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있는 서비스 개념도를 제안하고, 관련 API 설계에 대해 보인다. 본 연구를 통해 개인방송을 접하는 사람들의 편의성, 흥미를 만족시켜 다채로운 서비스를 제공할 수 있고 나아가 편리성을 고려한 NUI 서비스 가이드라인을 마련할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Multimedia materials were developed to creative children's songs to elementary schoolers so as to improve favorable personality. To this end, we selected elementary school students to select appropriate songs for the cultivation of humanity, and produced multimedia including various image materials such as animation, documentary, chorus, dance performances, and interviews. Above all, we have created a teaching - learning process and presented the program so that teachers can easily guide students to agitation. As a result, the change of personality of elementary school students was positively shown through sway broadcasting, and I tried to give practical examples of practical application for cultivation of creativity and personality that should be emphasized at elementary school.

  • 최근 유튜브, 네이버와 같은 플랫폼 사업자들은 다양하고 많은 동영상확보를 위해 최대한 시간을 적게 들이고 좋은 퀄리티의 영상을 자동으로 생성해주는 어플리케이션을 개발하는데 AI 기술을 적극적으로 사용하고 있다. 가장 주도적으로 진행하는 곳은 IBM 의 왓슨의 인지하이라이트 기술이다. 관중의 함성소리와 스포츠특성 데이터들을 활용하여 하이라이트 부분의 영상만 자동 생성하고 있다. 하지만 현재까지의 기술은 인간의 감성을 자극하는 스토리 전개방식의 자동영상 생성에 있어서는 부족한 부분이 많이 존재한다.이 에 본 논문은 영화의 클라이맥스 부분의 영상편집방식을 분석하여 이에 대한 장르별 샷 사이즈 변화패턴을 시각화한 후, 장르간 편집 차이점을 패턴화한 템플릿을 구축하여 사용자의 이미지 데이터들을 장르별 클라이맥스 패턴의 특성에 맞게 추천하여 짧은 영상을 자동 생성하는 어플리케이션을 개발하였다. 향후 본 연구는 1 인 미디어 산업 및 사이버교육 분야에서 가장 많이 소요되는 영상편집 시간을 단축하는데 큰 효율이 있을 것이라 기대한다.

  • Speaking skill is an important quality in expressing oneself in school life. Quite a few students experience difficulties at school because of the lack of adequate speaking ability. In order to help them, a Web-based speaking enhancement system is designed and developed using computers equipped with multimedia devices with which students can practice speaking while they are observing graphical representation of voices, which is to cause interest and voluntary participation in the learning activity. The learning system was tested on a group of 44 students of 4th grade in an elementary school. The students were divided into three smaller groups in terms of speaking ability. The experiment shows the effectiveness of the system in building speaking ability.

  • Recently, the use of the internet and the web becomes universal. So, many internet applications are made by educators. In this paper, contents about the electromagnetics course which is one of the basic subjects for electrical and electronic fields are dealt. Most textbooks concerned this topic describes the phenomena in mathematical formulas. Naturally, for the students, the understanding of the phenomena is not so easy. For the improvement the educational efficiency, the multimedia techniques such as HTML, pictures, animations and sound are utilized. And also the software developed by authors is available for the analysis or the exercise of various electromagnetic problems. The contents are composed 4 parts : electrostatic fields, magnetostatic fields, time varying fields propagation of waves.

  • three degree of freedom (3DoF), three degree of freedom plus (3DoF+), six degree of freedom(6DoF) 등 몰입형 비디오의 높은 몰입감을 제공하기 위해 다중 비디오 영상을 효율적으로 처리하는 기법이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 이를 위해 원본의 몰입형 비디오가 입력되면 기본 시점 영상과 추가 시점 영상에서의 중복을 제거하고 기본 시점(basic view)에서는 보이지 않지만 추가 시점(additional view)에서는 보이는 영역을 추출하는 프루닝 과정이 이뤄지는 부호기에서의 부호화 모드 결정은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 test model for immersive video (TMIV)의 모드 중 하나인 MPEG immersive video (MIV) view mode 를 통해 만들어진 프루닝 (pruning) 그래프에서 선택된 시점들을 활용하여 뷰 간 중복성을 제거할 수 있는 효율적인 부호화 구조로 클러스터를 기반으로 병렬적으로 부호화하는 클러스터 기반 정렬 기법을 제안한다. 선택된 시점들을 인덱스 순서에 따라 부호화하는 기존 방법에 비해 제안하는 방법은 peak signal-to-noise ratio (Y-PSNR)에서 평균 3.9%의 BD-rate 절감을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 또한 더 객관적인 품질 측정을 위해 immersive video peak signal-to-noise ratio (IV-PSNR)에 의한 비교 결과도 함께 제공하며, 참조 순서에 맞게 정렬한 프루닝 기반 정렬 기법과의 비교도 함께 제공한다.

Time Management Status of Small Contractors and Suggestions on Education for Time Management in Colleges (소규모 건설회사의 공정관리 현황과 대학의 공정관리 교육방안)

  • A construction manager tries to complete a construction project within its duration and budget using available resources. Schedule networks such as Bar-chart and CPM(critical path method) are used to finish the project within the duration. A survey shows that small contractors prefer Microsoft Excel to commercial time management softwares to manage construction time in their fields, because the Excel is useful to control cost with schedule and few time management experts works in the small contractors. A college produces talented graduates who are able to manage time of a construction project. But the quality and quantity of college eduction for time management is insufficient. Another survey shows that majors in Architectural engineering of local national universities have the curriculum for time management, and teach mainly the theory of network scheduling and how to make the network schedule. The several majors have classes for the theory and exercise of commercial time management softwares in several majors. It is necessary to educate time management experts able to use Bar-chart and commercial time management softwares for the small contractors.

Awareness and Utilization Plan of the Smart Learning in University Education (대학교육의 스마트러닝에 대한 인식 및 활용 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine university student's awareness and utilization plan of Smart Learning of the university education. For this purpose, a needs analysis is performed through a survey of 345 university students. Through the survey, first, students of media devices, including the average daily usage time of four hours at the most common smart devices, the intended use was used SNS, games and entertainment, datebook, and more. Second, the benefits of the smart learning, which students learn to recognize the challenges and reducing the burden most common obstacle was the difficulty in immersion classes. Third, the demand for university education smart learning, the most common opinion about the classroom building. On the basis of the above research findings, the utilization plans are proposed.
