A new poinsettia cultivar "Early bird" was bred by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2007. A cross was made between 'Ichiban', a variety with deep lobed transitional leaves and bright red bracts, and 'Freedom Red', a vigorously growing dark red colored variety in 2004. "Early bird" was finally selected in 2007 after the investigation of the growth and flower characteristics from 2005 to 2007. "Early bird" has bright red colored, wide obovate bracts. Leafblade is dark green and ovate. Plant height is short and stem color is greenish. Response to short day is early and its bracts and transitional leaves are fully colored 6.5 weeks after short day commencement.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Lovely Moon' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2008. A cross was made between 'Sever Line' and 'Angel' with yellow and semi-double flower in 2005. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2005 to 2008), it was selected specially for the use of cut flowers. 'Lovely Moon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow (RHS Y13B), yellow green center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 12.7 cm, a large flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 6.10 cm and 2.80 cm, respectively. It produces a large number of flowers with continuous supply of flowers and has a long peduncle height. We believe that 'Lovely Moon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farm income.

A cross was made between 'Red Velvet', a variety with dark green leaves and red bracts, and 'Freedom Bright Red', a variety with early short day responding and bright red bracts, in 2002. 'Clara' was finally selected in 2005 after the investigation of the growth and flowering characteristics from 2003 to 2005. 'Clara' has red ovate bracts and weak intensity of rugosity between bract veins. Leaf blade is ovate and medium green. Petiole length is relatively short, and stem color is reddish. 'Clara' has medium free-branching ability and makes short and compact canopy. Clara's bracts and transitional leaves are fully colored 9 weeks after short day commencement.

A cross was made between 'Freedom Rose', a variety with vigorously growing deep pink color, and 'Red Velvet', a variety with dark green leaves and red bracts in 2001. 'Heidi' was finally selected in 2004 after the investigation of the growth and flower characteristics from 2002 to 2004. It has velvety red colored elliptic bracts and transitional leaves, and medium intensity of rugosity between bract veins. Leaf blade is dark green, ovate shape and lobes are shallow. Petiole length is relatively short and stem color is reddish. 'Heidi' has free-branching ability and plant height is short. The bracts and transitional leaves are fully colored 7.5 weeks after short day commencement.

A new spray rose cultivar 'Morning Shine' was bred from the cross between light pink spray cultivar 'Charming' and white spray cultivar 'Princess' at the National Horticulture Research Institute. The cross was made in 2000 and 'Morning Shine' was finally selected in 2006 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2003 to 2006. 'Morning Shine', a light yellow spray cultivar grows vigorously and has high productivity. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $159.7 stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 74.3 cm in length of cut flower, 7.2 cm in flower diameter, 35.6 in petal number, and 13.0 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Sunny Lady'.

A new standard rose cultivar 'Pink Bell' was bred from a cross between pink standard cultivar 'Sweet Pink' and pink standard cultivar '"Pink Pearl' at the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science. A cross was made in 2003 and 'Pink Bell' was finally selected in 2008 after investigating its characteristics for three years from 2006 to 2008 (UPOV standards). 'Pink Bell', a pink color standard cultivar grows vigorously and has a high yield. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $162stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 69.8 cm in length of cut flower, 10.4 cm in flower diameter, 44.5 in petal number per stem, and 12.0 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar was relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Nobless'.

A new rose cultivar was developed from a cross between "Neon" and "Hello" by the rose breeding team of Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 1999. The cultivar, "Loving You" was finally selected in 2007 after evaluation trials for three years (2005-2007). The cultivar was developed for a standard-type cut flower with pink petals. "Loving You" grows vigorously and produces $108.5stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 50.2 petals per flower. The days to flower was 46 days, which is very short in rose. The length of cut flower was long with 76.8 cm. Vase-life of the cultivar could be as long as 11 days. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2007.

A new rose cultivar, 'Green Beauty' was selected from the progenies of a cross between 'Qvarna' and 'Sky Line' by rose breeding team of the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 1999. It was finally selected in 2005 after evaluation trials for five years (2001-2005). 'Green Beauty' was developed for a standard-type cut flower. 'Green Beauty' has good qualified flower of which color is fair orange-yellow and green. 'Green Beauty' produces $178stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 62 petals per flower. Vase life of the cultivar could be as long as 12 days. 'Green Beauty' has some good agricultural and marketing traits. Futhermore marketing-quality was good in some aspects. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2006, and was released to commercial growers in 2007.

A new poinsettia cultivar 'Noel' was bred by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science(NIHHS) in 2007. In 2004, a cross was made between 'Gutbier V-10 Amy', a variety with high free-branching habit and light red bracts, and 'Ichiban', a variety with deeply lobed transitional leaves and bright red bracts. 'Noel' was finally selected in 2007 after the investigation of observations on the growth and flower characteristics from 2005 to 2007. 'Noel' has smoothly waving red elliptic bracts. Leafblades are dark green and ovate. The variety has relatively long petioles, and stem color is greenish. 'Noel' has high free-branching ability and plant height is medium. Noel's bracts and transitional leaves are fully colored in 7.5 weeks after short day treatment.

A new standard rose cv. 'Honey Lemon' was bred by the cross between white standard cv. 'Escimo' and light pink standard cv. 'Medeo' at the National Institute of Horticultural Research Institute. The cross was made in 1999 and 'Honey Lemon' was finally selected in 2003 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2001 to 2003. 'Honey Lemon', a white standard cultivar grows vigorously and has good flower shape. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $248.0stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 53.0 cm in length of cut flower, 8.0 cm in flower diameter, 17.0 in petal number, and 16.9 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cv., 'Tineke'. (Registration number: 1151).
