‘Korea’ in World Regional Geography Textbooks in English Edition(1931∼2002) (영문판 ‘세계지역지리학’ 교과서에 표현된 ‘한국’ (1931∼2002년))

  • This study examines Korean-related description from 1931 to 2002 in 18 university-level ‘World Regional Geography’ textbooks, being published as English. During this period, the amounts of Korean-related contents in world regional geography textbooks have gradually increased. The main Korean-related topics were generally ‘Colonization by Japan’, ‘Korean War’, ‘Rapid economic development in South Korea’, and ‘North Korea’. The distorted information and erroneous description about Korea were mostly found in textbooks. The national and cultural identity of Korea was severely distorted and made a fallacy by ‘accidental-centered’ thought. It is suggested that foreign geographers who refer ‘Korea’ in World Regional Geography textbooks need to critically re-examine the ways in which Korean-related contents are in proper place.

Role of Home Economics Education in a Low Fertility Society by Community Involvement, Public Policy Participation, and Advocacy (저출산 사회에서 지역사회연계와 정책참여를 통한 가정과교육의 역할)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the role of home economics education in a low fertility society in the contexts of curriculum contents, community involvement, public policy participation, and advocacy. The results showed following. First, home economics is a key subject matter in dealing with a low fertility problem among 2007 revised curriculum for secondary education level. Home economics curriculum contents was systematically organized through 8th grade to 10th grade in 4 units, where as curricula contents of social studies, science, and moral education deal with a low fertility problem in partial. Second, it is proposed to be active in community involvement incorporating with secondary education, college education, and lifelong education by service learning, outreach program, and extension program. Third, public policy and advocacy participation of home economics teachers are crucial for transformative leadership and practice in enhancing the condition of individual, family, and community wellbeing such as a low fertility problem. To perform this role of home economics education, home economics teachers should participate in developing curricula and teaching materials for the extra curricula activity, creative experiencing activity, and service learning activity. Home economics teacher educators also should actively involved in outreach program and extension program as well as in public policy advocacy activity for solving a low fertility problem.

  • This paper have derived an expression(the fringe modle is used) for the photocurrelation-correlation function for a cross-beam laser velocimeter, taking into account the effects of atmospheric turbulence on the amplitude and phase of the incident beams. the result, as long as the atmospheric disturbances do not greatly damp out sinusoidal variations of the photocurrent-correlation function in the time it takes a particle to travel the fringe-separation distance, the disturbances do not hinder the determination of the velocity of the partides from the correlation funtion.(the scattering particles are assumed to have a well-defined V).

A Comparative Study of Knowledge Integration in the Textbook and Students' Mental Model about the Phases of the Moon (달의 위상 변화에 관한 교과서의 지식 통합 과정 및 학생 정신 모델의 비교 연구)

  • In this study, we compared textbook knowledge organization with students' mental models to contribute to a more well-designed instruction scheme. The selected science content was the cause of moon phases. We investigated 9 textbooks and 25 third-year middle school students. Patterns and features in participants' mental models were identified through cross inter-rater data analysis by 9 researchers, including in service teachers and experts in science education. According to the results, observing and modeling are the main activities engaged in when dealing with moon phases. The activities consisted of such concepts as: lunar revolution, the sun's parallel rays, the illuminated half of moon, and the relative positions of the sun, moon, and earth. Each concept involved inquiry skills such as: creating and manipulating models, utilizing the relationship between time and space, and communicating. However, the most important skills which are required for authentic scientific inquiry, namely controlling variables and formulating hypotheses, were missing. We categorized students' mental models into three types: scientific models, mixed models, and alternative models. The knowledge structure of each of the models was also discussed in this paper. Consequently, it was found that, typically, students were not given enough opportunities to strengthen the connection among ideas.

  • Smart Education began with the smart generation. But It did not activated and stopped Provisionally. Because Digital contents for smart education are low quality, and education devices are expensive. In this paper, we analyze compatibility and usability of essential digital textbook and device in smart education. Through this paper to indicate the optimum effectiveness in using a limited budget. To activate the smart education spread again. To enhance its position as the home of Smart Education. Improve the quality of education and to contribute to the future development of the nation.

A Study on the Operation of Technology. Home Economics Curriculum of Middle and High Schools in Kyungnam Area (기술ㆍ가정교과 운영실태와 평가 -경남지역 소재 중.고등학교를 중심으로 -)

  • This study aimed to evaluate the subject matters and goals, and to know the operation of Technology·Home Economics of middle and high schools in Kyungnam area. Data were collected from 235 teachers with the questionnaire by mail. The results were following; 1. The major of teachers was Technology·Industry 30.6%, Home Economics 67.2%. The teaching style was the team-teaching 51.1%, one's responsible teaching 41.3%. The team-teaching was operated more frequently in high schools than middle schools. The most difficulties were the shortage of subject's hours, the shortage of practice hours, etc. 2. The overall evaluation of subject's matters and goals were about middle levels. but the items of the job-course education and the interrelatedness of Technology and Home Economics were a little low levels. 3. The speciality and the utility of the subject's matters were evaluated highly oneself for one's major, but those of different major were lowly so. The sector of Computer was shared commonly with Technology and Home Economics' teachers. 4. The attitudes toward the separation or integration of Technology·Home Economics in the 8th curriculum revision were half and half. If Technology·Home Economics will be separated, each subject need 2 hours per week.

  • The characteristics of contiguous pulse trains of stopped FM signals with binary phase coding, to be used as radar signals, were investigated. For this purpose, the general expressions for the spectra and the ambiguity functions of this class of signals were first obtained; these expressions were then compute6 and plotted by the use of computer for various coding scheme. The results show that alternate phase coding provides the best time resolution and the corresponding ambiguity functon has a configuration of "be6 of spikes" in the whole time-velocity plane.ity plane.

차세대 SAR 활용을 위한 이중 채널 항공기 SAR 시스템 구축 및 간섭기법 연구

  • 지금까지 대부분의 인공위성 또는 항공기 SAR 시스템은 하나의 위상 배열 안테나를 이용하며, 단 영상을 생성하고 판독하는데 주로 사용되었지만, 차세대 SAR 시스템은 다중 편파 관측이 가능하거나 이중 채널 또는 위상 배열 안테나의 분리 모드(split-antenna mode)를 통해 간섭기법의 적용이 가능한 시스템으로 발전이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 이 논문은 차세대 SAR 인공위성의 새로운 분석 기법 연구와 활용 증진을 위해, 유사한 기능을 보일 수 있는 이중 채널 항공기 SAR 시스템을 구축하고, 이로부터 단일 패스 간섭기법(single-pass interferometry)을 연구한 논문이다. 공간적으로 서로 다른 위치에 있는 두 개의 SAR 채널에서 동시에 수신된 레이다 신호를 간섭적으로 처리하여, 지형의 고도 정보를 추출하거나 이동하는 물체의 속도를 탐지할 수 있도록 알고리즘을 구현하였고, 새로운 활용 분야를 모색하고자 하였다.

  • 최근 국내에는 원활한 교통 흐름을 위해 연륙교, 연도교등 다수의 해상 교량을 보유함에 따라 통항 안전 관련 해상사고 발생 가능성이 증가하고 있다. 반송파 위상정보를 이용한 정밀측위기법을 선박항해에 적용하기 위해서는 항해시 교량 및 시설물 등의 영향으로 위성 신호세기가 미약해지는 환경에서도 정밀측위의 연속성을 유지해야한다. 그러나 반송파 위상 정보는 미약한 위성신호세기 환경에서 측정잡음이 급격히 증가하여 반송파 미지정수 검색 및 유지를 어렵게하고 이로 인해 정밀측위를 불가능하게 한다. 본 논문에서는 위성신호가 미약해지는 환경에서 정밀측위의 연속성을 유지하기 위하여 관성센서 정보를 이용하였다. 관성센서와 위성정보를 이용하여 해당위성의 ICP(Integrated Carrier Phase)를 추정한다. 추정한 ICP를 이용하여 반송파 위성을 재구성함으로써 끊김없이 반송파 미지정수를 유지하여 연속적이며 안정적인 측위결과를 생성한다.

The Present and Effects of Korean Social Work Ethic Education - Focused on Ethical Sensitivity - (사회복지윤리교육의 현황 및 효과에 관한 연구 - 윤리적민감성을 중심으로 -)

  • This Study explores and describes the present status and effects of Korean social work ethic course , reflecting increasing concerns about social worker's ethics. Using the member list of the Council of Korean Social Welfare Education, this study first examines the extent to which the ethic course is established and how the course is managed. Then, for the purpose of investigating the practical effects of the enrollment in the ethic course, using the test scores designed to measure the students' sensitivity to ethical issues, this study compared test scores between students who attended the course and those who did not. This study also compared pre-post test scores of students who attended the course. The results show that enrollment in the course contributes to significant changes in the students' ethical sensitivities, in spite of social work education system that does not very yet empathize the ethics curriculum very strongly. Further, enrollment in the ethic course is proved to be a more powerful factor to ethical sensitivity than any other demographic or education related factors. These findings suggest a stronger emphasis abd serious consideration of the course, as well as more efforts to bring up professionals and invest in research in the field of social work ethic education.
