Unequal Multi-Section Power Divider using CPW and Offset Coupled Transmission Lines (CPW와 Offset 결합 전송선로를 이용한 비대칭 다단 분배기)

  • This paper proposes an implementation of unequal power divider with 1:3 and 1:4 splitting ratio in multi-section structure using CPW and offset coupled transmission line. The power divider consists of a multi-section transmission line and a circuit with parallel capacitors and resistors. A multi-section transmission line was implemented by decomposing a ${\lambda}/4$ single transmission line terminated by an arbitrary impedance and converging it with a multi-section transmission line shorter than $90^{\circ}$ electrical length, and RC parallel circuits were connected between transmission lines to obtain reflection coefficient of output port and isolation characteristics between the output port. In this way, it was confirmed that the transmission lines at the unequal power divider designed at 2 GHz were shorter than ${\lambda}/4$ and implemented at least 27% less than the conventional ones, and that the broadband characteristics could be obtained.

  • During titration, several chemical reactions result in changes not only in the potential of chemicals, but also in the colors of the indicator. In a potentiometric titration, a titration curve is obtained by measuring the abrupt change in the potential at the endpoint. Generally, acid-base titration is performed by observing the color change caused by an indicator to determine the endpoint. The method of determining the endpoint by measuring the potential difference has been well established and commercialized; however, the devices that can obtain the endpoint by observing the color change are limited. Consequently, in this study, a simple and precise spectral endpoint detector was manufactured using a drop-counter comprising an infrared emitter and a phototransistor, a white light LED as the light source and photodetector, and an analog-to-digital converter (Arduino). Spectrator, a new named, showed excellent results in terms of the reproducibility of acid-base titration using thymol blue as an indicator. Herein, we present the results of the Spectrator-manufacturing process as well as the experimental results.

  • A selective extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of mercury(II) with nocotinaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone(NPS) was described. The method is based on the formation of an insoluble mercury-NPS complex, which is extratable into chloroform from an aqueous solution at pH 3.5 by shaking for 3 min. The absorbance is measured at 365nm and the molar absorptivity is $2.45{\times}10^4L\;mol^{-1}\;cm^{-1}$. The complex system conforms to Beer's law for up to $18{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ of mercury(II). The proposed method is simple and selective and has been satisfactorily applied to the determination of mercury in standard human hair sample.

  • 최근 반도체 소자의 고집적화 및 대용량화의 경향에 다라 MOSFET 소자 제작에 이동되는 게이트 산화막의 두께가 수 nm 정도까지 점점 얇아지는 추세이고 Giga-DRAM급 차세대 UNSI소자를 제작하기 위해 5nm이하의 게이트 절연막이 요구된다. 이런 절연막의 두께감소는 게이트 정전용량을 증가시켜 트랜지스터의 속도를 빠르게 하며, 동시에 저전압동작을 가능하게 하기 때문에 게이트 산화막의 두께는 MOS공정세대가 진행되어감에 따라 계속 감소할 것이다. 따라서 절연막 두께는 소자의 동작 특성을 결정하는 중요한 요소이므로 이에 대한 정확한 평가 방법의 확보는 공정 control 측면에서 필수적이다. 그러나, 절연막의 두께가 작아지면서 게이트 산화막과 crystalline siliconrksm이 계면효과가 박막의 두께에 심각한 영향을 주기 때문에 정확한 두께 계측이 어렵고 계측방법에 따라서 두께 계측의 차이가 난다. 따라서 차세대 반도체 소자의 개발 및 양산 체계를 확립하기 위해서는 산화막의 두께가 10nm보다 작은 1nm-5nm 수준의 박막 시료에 대한 두께 계측 방법이 확립이 되어야 한다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 습식 산화 공정으로 제작된 3nm-7nm 의 게이트 절연막을 현재까지 알려진 다양한 두께 평가방법을 비교 연구하였다. 절연막을 MEIS (Medim Energy Ion Scattering), 0.015nm의 고감도를 가지는 SE (Spectroscopic Ellipsometry), XPS, 고분해능 전자현미경 (TEM)을 이용하여 측정 비교하였다. 또한 polysilicon gate를 가지는 MOS capacitor를 제작하여 소자의 Capacitance-Voltage 및 Current-Voltage를 측정하여 절연막 두께를 계산하여 가장 좋은 두께 계측 방법을 찾고자 한다.다. 마이크로스트립 링 공진기는 링의 원주길이가 전자기파 파장길이의 정수배가 되면 공진이 일어나는 구조이다. Fused quartz를 기판으로 하여 증착압력을 변수로 하여 TiO2 박막을 증착하였다. 그리고 그 위에 은 (silver)을 사용하여 링 패턴을 형성하였다. 이와 같이 공진기를 제작하여 network analyzer (HP 8510C)로 마이크로파 대역에서의 공진특서을 측정하였다. 공진특성으로부터 전체 품질계수와 유효유전율, 그리고 TiO2 박막의 품질계수를 얻어내었다. 측정결과 rutile에서 anatase로 박막의 상이 변할수록 유전율은 감소하고 유전손실은 증가하는 결과를 나타내었다.의 성장률이 둔화됨을 볼 수 있다. 또한 Silane 가스량이 적어지는 영역에서는 가스량의 감소에 의해 성장속도가 둔화됨을 볼 수 있다. 또한 Silane 가스량이 적어지는 영역에서는 가스량의 감소에 의해 성장속도가 줄어들어 성장률이 Silane가스량에 의해 지배됨을 볼 수 있다. UV-VIS spectrophotometer에 의한 비정질 SiC 박막의 투과도와 파장과의 관계에 있어 유리를 기판으로 사용했으므로 유리의투과도를 감안했으며, 유리에 대한 상대적인 비율 관계로 투과도를 나타냈었다. 또한 비저질 SiC 박막의 흡수계수는 Ellipsometry에 의해 측정된 Δ과 Ψ값을 이용하여 시뮬레이션한 결과로 비정질 SiC 박막의 두께를 이용하여 구하였다. 또한 Tauc Plot을 통해 박막의 optical band gap을 2.6~3.7eV로 조절할 수 있었다. 20$0^{\circ}C$이상으로 증가시켜도 광투과율은 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다.부터 전분-지질복합제의 형성 촉진이 시사되었다.이것으로 인하여 호화억제에 의한 노화 방지효과가 기대되었지만 실제로 빵의 노화는 현저히 진행되었다

Design studies for mandrel type fiber-hydrophones with FEM (FEM을 이용한 맨드랠(Mandrel) 형광- 음향 수중 청음기의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes structural optimization of optical fiber-wound mandrel hydrophones with Finite Element Method (FEM). The hydrophone is supposed to have operation frequency range of up to 10 kHz and show omni-directional sensitivity pattern at 5 kHz. Studied parameters are mandrel geometry, molding thickness, and material properties of constitutional parts of the hydrophone. Theoretical calculation result shows that pressure sensitivity of the hydrophone increased as either mandrel length or molding thickness gets larger. Also higher pressure sensitivity requires a mandrel or molding material with relatively low Youngs modulus or Poissons ratio. Hydrophone bandwidth increases either as the mandrel length becomes shorter or as the mandrel becomes harder. The omni-directional characteristic is improved as the mandrel length becomes shorter, at 5 kHz. With the above results, we determine the structure of an optical fiber-wound mandrel hydrophone which has the pressure sensitivity of $30 {\times} 10_{-7}$ Rad./Pa, operation frequency range of up to 10 kHz, and shows omni-directional sensitivity pattern at 5 kHz.

  • The main function of the power conditioning system (PCS) is grid-connection with renewable system. The level of total harmonic distortion(THD) caused by the PCS should be maintained less than 5% according to the IEEE-1547 regulation. The THD is measured by the dedicated instrument, not by the PCS in the domestic products. There should be the necessity for harmonic measurement by the PCS in order to cope with degradation or fault condition. In this paper, the real-time harmonic measurement technique using highperformance DSP controller is presented. The proto-system is manufactured using 32-bit floating DSP processor and tested with 256-point DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) algorithm. The test result shows that the harmonic calculation time is less than 1 [ms]. It can be used as a auxiliary method for predicting the fault in the PCS system.

A Case Study of Prediction and Analysis of Unplanned Dilution in an Underground Stoping Mine using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 지하채광 확정선외 혼입 예측과 분석 사례연구)

  • Stoping method has been acknowledged as one of the typical metalliferous underground mining methods. Notwithstanding with the popularity of the method, the majority of stoping mines are suffering from excessive unplanned dilution which often becomes as the main cause of mine closure. Thus a reliable unplanned dilution management system is imperatively needed. In this study, reliable unplanned dilution prediction system is introduced by adopting artificial neural network (ANN) based on data investigated from one underground stoping mine in Western Australia. In addition, contributions of input parameters were analysed by connection weight algorithm (CWA). To validate the reliability of the proposed ANN, correlation coefficient (R) was calculated in the training and test stage which shown relatively high correlation of 0.9641 in training and 0.7933 in test stage. As results of CWA application, BHL (Length of blast hole) and SFJ (Safety factor of Joint orientation) show comparatively high contribution of 18.78% and 19.77% which imply that these are somewhat critical influential parameter of unplanned dilution.

Phenomenon of the absorptive optical bistabililty in amorphous $As_2S_3$ thin film (비정질 $As_2S_3$ 박막에서의 흡수형 광쌍안정 현상)

  • We observed the absorptive optical bistability in the single layer amorphous $As_2S_3$ thin film which has an isolated electron pairs at roomtemperature, for the frist time, $Ar^+$ laser beam (λ=514.5 nm) was used as a light source and was focused by thin lens. The experiment was performed in cavityless system and the occurrence of optical bistability in this material could be explained by the temperature-dependent absorption coefficient of the sample. Also, this effect was explained by the reversible shift of the absorption edge in this material. The condition of optical bistability is determined by detuning value ($a_0L$) and this value was 0.12 when thikness of that sample was about 0.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The switching was observed clealy when light intensity is 150~180 mW and the swiching time was about $10^{-4}$ s.

Characteristics of Compensation for WDM Transmission with Equally Spaced Channels using Mid-Span Spectral Inversion (채널 간격이 일정한 WDM 전송에서의 Mid-Span Spectral Inversion을 이용한 보상 특성)

  • In this paper, we investigated the compensation characteristics of distorted 16-channel WDM signal due to chromatic dispersion self phase modulation(SPM) and four-wave mixing(FWM). The bit rate and uniform frequency spacing of WDM channels are assumed to be 40 Gbps and 100 ㎓, respectively. The compensation method used in this approach is mid- span spectral inversion(MSSI), Highly-nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber(HNL-DSF) is used as a nonlinear medium of optical phase conjugator(On) in order to widely compensate WDM signal band. We confirmed that applying MSSI in WDM channels within special input power level compensates overall interferenced channels mainly due to FWM. But for long wavelength WDM channels having lower conjugated light power with respect to signal light power, compensation quality is deteriorated as dispersion coefficient of fiber becomes higher. Consequently, we confirmed that it is effective D apply MSSI with HNL-DSF as a nonlinear medium of OPC to WDM transmission link with relative small dispersion in order to compensate equally spaced WDM channels.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of compensation for interferenced mid-channel signal by neighbor channels through four-wave mixing (FWM) process dominantly is investigated as a function of channel input power, fiber dispersion coefficient and transmission length in WDM system with equally spaced channels. The compensation method used in this research is mid-span spectral inversion(MSSI). The highly nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) is used as a nonlinear medium of optical phase conjugator (OPC) in order to compensate wideband WDM signals. First, we confirmed that the effect of FWM on channel interference is gradually reduced as fiber dispersion coefficient becomes gradually smaller, independent of signal format. And, we confirmed that RZ is better than NRZ as a modulation format for transmitting high power channel with allowable reception quality. But realization of flexible WDM systems regardless of channel number variation is possible by using NRZ rather than RZ format.
