  • In this paper, the effect on cement clinker and cement quality was studied to prove the effect of reducing the sintering temperature of cement clinker as a mineralizer to recycle fluorine based semiconductor sludge, an industrial by-product. In addition, a verification study was conducted to compare the properties of clinker and cement at different temperatures when natural fluorite, previously used as a mineralizer, was used. As a result of the study, semiconductor sludge showed sufficient effectiveness as a mineralizer and could replace natural fluorite, an existing mineralizer.

  • In this study, the formation of mullite phase with mineralizer have been investiagated Hadong Kaolin and boehmite were used as starting materials and also of TiCl4 and MnCl4 aquous solution were used as a mineralizer. In the addition of 3.5% MnO as a mineralizer, mullite single phase could be obtained at 125$0^{\circ}C$ without any other second phases. However in the addition of TiO2 as a mineralizer, mullite single phase is obtained at above 135$0^{\circ}C$. Therefore the formation of mullite is lowered in the case of MnO as a mineralizer than of TiO2. Because it is easy to obtain mullite single phase in the case of MnO addition, all the characteristics improved. The values of bulk density, water absorption and bending strength at room temperature were 2.72g/㎤, 0.27% and 180 MPa, respectively.

Effects of mineralizer and concentration on the morphology of the $CaTiO_3$ powders prepared by hydrothermal method (수열법에 의한 $CaTiO_3$분말 합성 시 광화제와 농도가 입자형상에 미치는 영향)

  • The $CaTio_3$powder with perovskite structure was synthesized by mixing anatase $TiO_2$and $Ca(OH)_2$powders as starting materials, and KOH or NaOH as mineralizer, followed by hydrothermal method. The change of crystal structure, particle shape and size of the synthesized $CaTiO_3$powder was investigated with kind and concentration of mineralizer. It was found that the spherical particles of 0.7 $\mu$m were obtained when using 1N KOH and the hexahedrons particles of 3$\mu$m were obtained for the case of using 10 N KOH. With increasing KOH concentration, the particle shape was changed from sphere to hexahedrons and its size also increased. When using 1 N NaOH, the powder was consisted of 0.5~1 $\mu$m particle in size, whereas hexahedrons of 1~4 $\mu$m and whiskers more than 10$\mu$m in size was obtained for the 10 N NaOH solution. With increasing NaOH concentration, the particle shape was varied from hexahedrons to whiskers, showing the similar result with the KOH case. It was confirmed from EDS analysis that Na element, which was detected in hexahedrones was not contained in the whiskers.

  • 광화학 스모그를 야기하는 오존은 질소산화물과 VOC에 의한 다단계 광화학반응에 의하여 생성된다. 1990년대 초부터 자동차 보급률이 높아지면서, 수도권 지역을 중심으로 고농도 오존 현상이 관찰되었으며 최근에는 지방 주요 도시로 확산되고 있다. 오존은 광화학반응에 의해서 생성되는 제2차 대기오염물질이면서도 반응성이 높아서 다른 화학종의 산화에 지대한 영향을 미치며 일단 생성된 후에도 쉽게 파괴될 수 있다는 점에서 황산화물과 질소산화물과 같은 제2차 대기오염물질과 구별된다. (중략)

Potential Study for the Sedimentary Exhalative Pb-Zn Mineralization in Dyusembay Area, Kazakhstan (카자흐스탄 듀셈바이지역의 퇴적분기형 연-아연 광화작용에 대한 잠재력 연구)

  • Metasediment-hosted Pb-Zn mineralized zone has been found in Dyusembay of Kazakhstan. Its petrological properties, metal index, alteration index and redox-sensitivity are compared with those of SEDEX type deposit. Mineralization is developed along foliation of host rock (graphitic phyllite) and controlled by folds and faults; major ore minerals including pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, and galena are disseminated or interlayered with fine-grained quartz. The margin of the mineralized zone is metamorphosed accompanying sericite and chlorite. Hydrothermal brecciation and Pb-Zn mineralization formed in quartz-calcite stockworks are confirmed at the around of Maytyubin granitoid intrusions. The mineralization is classified into three types according to those of occurrence, paragenesis, chemical composition and isotopic characteristics. Type 1 whose fine-grained pyrite, pyrrhotite and sphalerite are formed in parallel yet discontinuous to well-developed foliations of the host rock; its geochemistry is similar to those of the earlier stage in SEDEX-type mineralization. In case of type 2, the ore minerals of which are concentrated being parallel to a foliation by regional metamorphism, and most of them associated with quartz and muscovite (${\pm}$ biotite) paragenetically. Type 3 is formed in the hydrothermal breccia zone whose ore minerals are controlled by foliation and breccia and developed in quartz ${\pm}$ calcite veins having a form such as stratification, stockwork or veinlets. Host rocks in the mineralized zone indicate homogeneous metamorphic grade and there is no specific alteration zonation. Also, all types (type 1, type 2, and type 3) represent similar REEs patterns, it can be interpreted that these are originated from a same source. Sulphides occurred in mineralized zone indicate a limited range of sulphur isotope values (type 2, ${\delta}^{34}S=-13.3{\sim}-11.7$‰; type 3, ${\delta}^{34}S=-13.9{\sim}-8.2$‰), and a result of geothermometry presents different temperature ranges: type 2($251{\pm}38^{\circ}C{\sim}277{\pm}40^{\circ}C$); type 3($360{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ to $537{\pm}29^{\circ}C$). It is estimated to be due to the effect of metamorphism and Maytyubin granitoid intrusions, respectively. In addition, ternary chart of thorium, scandium, and zircon for discrimination of tectonic setting and redox sensitivity using V/Mo values indicate that hydrothermal sediments put on reduction environment after precipitation, before being affected by metamorphism and intrusion activity. Geochemical data are plotted on a distal trend of SEDEX-type with discrimination plot using SEDEX index. As a result, petrological-geochemical properties demonstrate that Dyusembay Pb-Zn mineralized zone is comparable to distal-type of SEDEX deposit.

Study of Preparation of $BaTiO_3$Powder using Hydrothermal methods (수열합성법에 의한 $BaTiO_3$분말합성)

  • BaTiO$_3$분말을 barium hydroxide, meta titan acid를 이용하여 광화제 첨가 없이 열수처리에 의한 탈수(dehysration) 및 재경정화(recrystallization)과정으로 수열합성법에 의해 제조하였다. Autoclave 반응기를 이용한 실험의 경우, BaTiO$_3$분말을 생성하기 위한 최적 온도 및 반응시간은 각각 18$0^{\circ}C$, 4시간으로 확인되었으며, 이 때 생성된 BaTiO$_3$분말의 크기는 0.1~0.2$\mu\textrm{m}$로 입도분포가 양호하였다. 그리고, 광하제의 영향을 살펴보면 광화제를 사용하지 않았을 경우가 1.0MK KOH를 첨가하였을 때보다 결정성이 우수하게 나타났다. 이와같은 결과로부터 수열합성조건에서 Ba와 Ti의 출발물질이 [-OH]기를 가지고 있는 경우, 원료의 용해도를 증가시키고 출발물질의 수산기(hydroxide)의 생성이 용이하여 광화제의 첨가 없이도 BaTiO$_3$분말을 합성할 수 있음에 따라 공정단순화를 통해ㅐ 에너지 절감 효과를 가져올 수 있었다.

  • In this study single crystalline corundum ($\alpha$-$Al_2O_3$) powders were prepared from gibbsite using hydrothermal growing processes. Addition of a mineralizer and the characteristics of solid substances were investigated to find their effects on the size distribution and crystalllnity of products. Experimental results showed that as the concentration of potassium hydroxide (KOH), a mineralizer, the particle size of corundum powders became larger at lower reaction temperatures. However, the size of corundum powders became smaller as the concentration of gibbsite increased in the feedstock. The hydrothermal synthetic conditions are also strongly dependent on the properties of hydrothermal solutions. Corundum powders which have the weight mean particle size of 1~10 $\mu\textrm{m}$ with shapes of hexagonal were prepared in this experiment.
