This study is a second paper of the re-structuring strategies of healthcare facilities in Kwang-ju and Jeon-nam province for it's competition power in the emerging global health care market. Kwang-Ju city and Jeon-nam province have had difficulties in building a balanced healthcare system because of rapidly declining population, weakened healthcare infra-structure and geographical problems of healthcare supply by numerous islands. This paper presents the new approaching process for re-building healthcare network in the regional healthcare facilities planning. In addition, it analyzes health planning index, healthcare system, the concept of health care networking, etc. Finally, this presents the case study of regional healthcare facilities planning in Kwang-ju city and Jeon-nam Province.

Objectives: To identify factors related to physical health monitoring of patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder. Methods: A total of 172 patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorder registered in mental health welfare centers and rehabilitation facilities in Gwangju were recruited. Physical health monitoring was defined by two health behaviors; fasting blood tests within recent 2 years in all participants and routine medical check-ups covered by national insurance within recent 5 years in participants aged 40 years or older. Demographic and clinical characteristics including overweight, metabolic syndrome and knowledge about physical illness were compared according to physical health monitoring. Results: Prevalence of overweight and metabolic syndrome were 62.8% and 40.1%, respectively. The rates of fasting blood tests and routine medical check-ups were 34.9% and 67.9%, respectively. The rates of fasting blood tests were significantly higher in general hospital and university hospital compared to mental hospital or private clinic. Rates of routine medical check-ups were significantly lower in individuals using daily rehabilitation service and smokers. Knowledge about cancer and chronic illness were significantly better in individuals receiving routine medical check-ups compared with those not receiving it. Conclusion: Education about physical health should be integrated to mental health service in community mental health center.

This investigation into the actual condition of instruction with the General Science textbook was carried out by conducting a questionnaire survey of a General Science teachers at high schools in the Gwangju-Jeonnam area. As a result of analysis, it was found that the percentage of four different teachers teaching the four science subjects was 62.5% of the whole, and the percentage of one teacher teaching all four science subjects was 7.5% in Gwangju, with the percentages being 21.1% and 36.6%, respectively, for Jeonnam. An most appropriate type of General Science textbook instruction is for four different teachers to teach the for different subjects (75%) according to teachers in the Gwangju-Jeonnam area. The teachers that teach the General Science textbook want the course to include the following sections in this order in the chemistry field in the new General Science textbook: atoms, molecules, and ions; chemical reactions, chemical periodicity, and acids and bases

A check list which includes the items that are to be considered in the process of the statistical data collection and analysis by non-scientific organizations is proposed. Based on the suggested check list, the output resulting from the statistical survey conducted by private organizations, banks, organs of expression and enterprises in Gwangju and Chonnam are examined about the validity of data collection and statistical analysis.

이 대담 시리즈는 학교도서관에 대한 도서관계 안팎의 관심을 높이고 현단계 학교도서관 운동이 나아갈 길을 모색해 보려는 취지에서 시도된 것이다. 과거 학교도서관 운동을 주도하였거나 오랫동안 학교도서관 현장을 지켜온 인물들을 찾아 그들의 경험과 의식 속에 쌓여 있는 역사를 끌어내어 오늘을 비추어 보고 내일을 전망하는 계기로 삼을 것이다. 이번 대담에서 만난 사람은 전교조 5.6대 위원장을 역임한 정해숙 선생이다. 선생은 1966년 전남여고에서 사서교사로 첫 발을 내디딘 후 목포여고, 광주농고 등을 거쳐 1989년 해직 당할 때가지 광주 전남 지역의 학교도서관 운동에 크게 기여한 분이다. 10년간의 해직 교사 생활을 마감하고 1998년 9월 1일 부로 광주 기계공고에 사서교사로 복직하여 얼마 남지 않은 교직 생활을 사서교사로서 봉사하고 계신다. 이 대담을 통하여 선생께서는 학교도서관 문제 뿐만 아니라 우리 나라 교육의 전반적인 문제와 관련하여 깊이 있는 성찰을 보여주신다. 대담 일시 : 1998년 9월 24일 오후 9시-11시 30분 대담 장소 : 경주 교육문회회관 커피숍
